Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 38

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Gameweek 38. That’s your lot folks! Well, it will be in about 3 hours anyway… GW38 always seems so brutal. We are used to game-weeks spanning 3-4 days, sometimes even 6 or 7. And then when it really comes down to the final reckoning we are all lined up in front of the FPL firing squad and shot at for 90 short minutes as if we’d just been caught in Malaysia with a gram or two in our back pockets. And it’s a bit of an odd one to call as nearly all matters are sorted, barring a couple of highly unlikely goal difference swings. And we are talking huge ones here – a Liverpool draw and a Chelsea 16-0 win. And a Saints loss, a Swansea win and a 10 goal swing. The Saints do however face Man City so you just never know! But being realistic it’s all done and dusted. The main talking points will probably centre around rotation and regardless of what nonsense the managers trotted out in their press conferences about ‘playing until the end with professionalism’ there will be rotation aplenty. There’s usually a fair few goals on the last day too. Here’s hoping your amongst them.

    p.s. Juve already bought replacement so a very possible transfer

    he has expressed his desire to win smtng in the PL as he has done it already in Ger/Spain/Italy…
    p.s. with Can going in the other direction-this might be a interesting transfer…

  3. Renfrew Rangers had an outstanding season finishing with a best ever points tally of 2402 and an unbelievable overall ranking of 472.

    As a few people have already said, no coincidence that my best two seasons have been since reading post last season and reading / contributing to posts this season.

    Couldn’t quite catch Horse in the ff247 regulars league so a massive congratulations on winning this league. Someone once said that you can only lead a horse well you must be well hydrated.

    Well chuffed to beat init thus season which was a long term ambition.

    For the head 2 head leagues, is there promotion? Finished third in division 4 so hoping to play in division 3 next season.

    Thanks to the people who write the articles every week and to us the readers and contributes who make this website what it is.

    Roll on next season.

    • I sent the article today, so when Init gets over losing big Sam he’ll probably post it up!

    • Tonight constant. Only had a brief glance but it looks like it was an intense and interesting finale!

  5. Fantastic Admins: would appreciate it if FF247 ran the World Cup 2018 Fantasy Tournament and shared a code and website as well. Cheers and thanks for a fantastic season.

    • You want us to run it?!?! laugh I’m not sure FIFA would allow that but we’d almost certainly do a better job of it judging by their usual efforts!

      As soon as they release the game we have our articles set and ready to go. We’ve got an intro article where we will briefly explain the rules and have the league code for you etc and then we have 8 articles to follow with a group analysis on each. Excitingly (other 7 writers close your ears) Bry is back for one and he’s covering Saudi Arabia, God help us! It’s Group A too so depending on whether we get sued / taken offline immediately there may or may not be 7 to follow it smile

    • Hi Kralin, welcome aboard Sir! Bit of a bolt out of the blue today that, I always had Chorley down as one who’d never stop but it’s tough going and I’m not sure how much help he got. FFC shut because it became too much for him on his own and he wouldn’t accept help. We are lucky here to have a huge team so we will be here for a good while yet!

      How did the FPL season treat you?

      • Thanks very much. Yes, a bit of a bolt – there’s a beautiful answer over there to someone’s question about how long until the plug is pulled – but the warning signs had been around for a while, namely it had been very quiet on the CR front. But god, he put a lot into it.

        Nice to hear the responsibility is spread out a bit more here.

        Not too bad – 6k in the end, fell away in the last couple of weeks.

        It could have gone wrong. I may have miscalculated. They could have seen me wander bravely into a rowdy pub – only to then hear the pub go completely quiet.
