FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 9

Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 9. Not exactly a classic week for us the last one! 8 of our players scored 4 points or less. Our top scorer was Sterling, who was actually our transfer in last time, so at least we had some modicum of satisfaction in a job well done in that respect. That he scored almost a third of our points was either simply genius or a bad reflection on the other two thirds! Almost certainly the latter. That we left good old Tom Carroll and his 8 points on the bench, and that he would have been our 3rd top scorer had we not, was simply either dumb or a bad reflection on the other 8 players! Almost certainly the latter.

Captain Kane bombed but obviously in a week when most players rued the same fate it didn’t really matter. We managed 47 points in total, which was 6 above the average and somehow got a small green arrow as we rose a whole 88 places to 267,070. Not exactly where we want or expect to be but we will plug on and try to improve.

Just a little mention for Alonso as well, who once again excelled himself with a 1 point return… He’s still living on the back of that Spurs 16 point game. With that included he averages 4 points a game. Take that outlier out and it drops to 2.4 points per game. Just saying 😉

Last weeks ‘result’, if you can call it that…

This weeks transfer(s)…
BOUGHT : Jesus and Silva
SOLD : Lacazette and Alli

We just couldn’t resist buying into the City triple attack. Or indeed bring ourselves to actually play our wildcard which we have been promising to do so for weeks now! In our defence we did plan to do it and it was the agreed move. And then we played around with a couple of line-ups and quickly realised that they weren’t actually much better than what we had already, albeit with a small hit to accommodate Jesus and Silva.

We will almost certainly play it next week… Look, who are we kidding here. We will almost certainly revisit the notion of doing so, that’s the only guarantee we can give.

As for the purchases themselves they need little explanation right now. The only concern is of course the usual Pep rotation but we are happy to take that chance and see what happens.

The team in full
And so this is how we line up ahead of GW9…

Our Captain is Raheem Sterling
Now that’s not a phrase we thought we would utter any time soon! He’s in red hot form though with 8 goals in all competitions so far. He was subbed early too in the Napoli game so he may be the surest of starters at the weekend. The way City are knocking teams aside it’s hard to argue against any of their players right now, it may just be a case of finding which one plays the most!

Rmt, on WC. Should I get Sterling instead of Silva and upgrade elsewhere? Also who to start Naughton or Wimmer and Hart or Elliott?

It’s an L?! Always had it as an i smile

Really, really depends on what Pep has to say at 1.30. If indeed anything.

      • lsd1980s says:

hahah…yeah it is an L…believe it or not..its the initials of my name…

Pep has a penchant for messing with everyone – so i am trying to anticipate – many people are speculating Jesus would start with Aguero coming on for him after 60 minutes…im going to say he starts with both Aguero and Jesus…with Jesus coming off and B. Silva coming on – with Aguero getting his first 90 minutes since the car accident…lol

On a separate note..no word on Ben Davies yeah?

Do you guys think Chadli is a realistic and Fruitful option for the ‘affordable but will get you points’ midfielder. To contend with the likes of Grob, Dacoure, Townsend (now that Palace seem to be hitting form), Mooy, Ince, Chuppa Moting etc. ?
And which of these names will be your 1st pick as a 5mil to 6mil mf option? If any other names come to mind kindly share smile

Can’t say I even noticed he was playing until that free kick the other night!

Got GroB myself and happy enough with him in there. The other I’d consider would be Chopu simply because he buys so many tickets it’s not true!

      • MBD says:

        Hahaha
Was actually thinking of chadli as he is owned by only 0.3% and the Baggies usually have one midfielder who goes on a run of points last season was Matt Phillips, before that i think was Brunt.

Is it my starting XI good enough for this game week?

      Milburn says:

Looks good with that many home fixtures. I’d be looking to get rid of Ayew next week though.

      • ragunath.kulasekaran@gmail.com says:

Yeah if I drop lukaku and get in tadic it will all home matches .hehe.

Should leave tadic in sub or bertrand? Really disappointed with Southampton players as they had really wonderful fixtures since season started but they did nothing special..

        • ragunath.kulasekaran@gmail.com says:

Just bought ayew last week and he gave me assist point right after. Planning to get rid of bertrand ,tadic and Ritchie coming weeks gradually

        • Milburn says:

I’d start Tadic over Carroll, despite his heroics last week.

    Anything to change?

      Kop Warrior says:

Captain, is this a WC team?

Looks solid. The Spurs full-backs are likely to be a rotation concern over the weeks ahead but I’m sure you know that.
Double Swans attack isn’t ideal but I doubt you’ll have to play both very often.

      • Captain Dicky and His C Men says:

Yeah WC team. Im ok with Trippier especially with Aurier conceding another penalty in the champions league. Had Davies before but I hear Rose is pretty much back and would worry more. I was thinking about downgrading Aguero to Jesus but I think he’s a must have. And yes, Carrroll and Abraham will probably not both start, in fact I dont think Carroll has ever started for me.
