FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 9

Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 9. Not exactly a classic week for us the last one! 8 of our players scored 4 points or less. Our top scorer was Sterling, who was actually our transfer in last time, so at least we had some modicum of satisfaction in a job well done in that respect. That he scored almost a third of our points was either simply genius or a bad reflection on the other two thirds! Almost certainly the latter. That we left good old Tom Carroll and his 8 points on the bench, and that he would have been our 3rd top scorer had we not, was simply either dumb or a bad reflection on the other 8 players! Almost certainly the latter.

Captain Kane bombed but obviously in a week when most players rued the same fate it didn’t really matter. We managed 47 points in total, which was 6 above the average and somehow got a small green arrow as we rose a whole 88 places to 267,070. Not exactly where we want or expect to be but we will plug on and try to improve.

Just a little mention for Alonso as well, who once again excelled himself with a 1 point return… He’s still living on the back of that Spurs 16 point game. With that included he averages 4 points a game. Take that outlier out and it drops to 2.4 points per game. Just saying 😉

Last weeks ‘result’, if you can call it that…

This weeks transfer(s)…
BOUGHT : Jesus and Silva
SOLD : Lacazette and Alli

We just couldn’t resist buying into the City triple attack. Or indeed bring ourselves to actually play our wildcard which we have been promising to do so for weeks now! In our defence we did plan to do it and it was the agreed move. And then we played around with a couple of line-ups and quickly realised that they weren’t actually much better than what we had already, albeit with a small hit to accommodate Jesus and Silva.

We will almost certainly play it next week… Look, who are we kidding here. We will almost certainly revisit the notion of doing so, that’s the only guarantee we can give.

As for the purchases themselves they need little explanation right now. The only concern is of course the usual Pep rotation but we are happy to take that chance and see what happens.

The team in full
And so this is how we line up ahead of GW9…

Our Captain is Raheem Sterling
Now that’s not a phrase we thought we would utter any time soon! He’s in red hot form though with 8 goals in all competitions so far. He was subbed early too in the Napoli game so he may be the surest of starters at the weekend. The way City are knocking teams aside it’s hard to argue against any of their players right now, it may just be a case of finding which one plays the most!

    Hi all,

I’ve been away for a few dys and just catching up with the articles– typical, it would be an early deadline this week!

I was thinking of WC but don’t want to rush it and my team isn’t in *terrible* shape. Would appreciate advice though. 2 FTs, 0.4m in the bank. Ramsey and Bats (don’t ask!) to Sterling and Abraham? And then perhaps WC next week- downgrade the defence, lose Mkhi/Lukaku and try to max out on Kane, Morata/Hazard, City cover?

So this is my WC as it currently stands! Please tear it to shreds and suggest alternatives smile

Nice squad Kop I’m on wc as well but getting one of the city defender instead of Silva/Sterling and also Kun. Think if you do the same it will give your team better balance in mid and defense both, but if you are sure on tripling up on offense it can pay big time as well. Also consider Hart has good fixtures and decent form too

      • Kop Warrior says:

I’ve considered Hart but Gomes rotates very well with Elliot until the end of the year and Watford’s defensive stats are quite good.

I know what you mean about a City defender but my logic behind the 3 City attackers is that it gives me cover when Pep rotates.

Nice side Kop but I am sure what structure you would play each week.
I guess Jones is permanent and you have two pairs of defending rotating so a 343 choosing Stephens or Carroll each match.
I would look to get Richarlison in. He’s got good fixtures coming. I think you would need to find the money but downgrading one of your strikers.
Sorry I cant help you more than that.

Absolute dream team that Kop. I’m biased but I’d probably have a toon defender in there rather than Dunk with our fixtures but that’s neither here nor there. Apart from that I think it’s set up pretty much perfect.

    GroB or Richarlison?
    Ottamendi or Stones?
