The Mané event….
Sometimes it’s all about nailing your captain and everything else just falls into place. We voted for Mané and we ignored the rumours flying around and the game’s most in form player did us proud. He scored, he assisted, he collected maximum bonus points for a 13pt return. We even had a last minute vote to double check that we were all comfortable sticking with him; and it was fairly unanimous, we even decided to do so on the basis that he would be a differential come the deadline! Doubled to 26 he alone outscored some teams we saw posted on the boards. Digne’s clean sheet and Anderson’s assist were our only other scorers! The former being a particularly welcome and unexpected surprise.
We played with just 10 players but our score of 50 (net 46) saw us comfortably beat the average of 26 and produced a welcome green arrow as we enter DGW territory with all our Chips intact.
Our rank is 22,479 and we are confident of a strong finish.

This week’s transfer decision…

We just thought we’d get that out of the way early doors as we usually begin with a review of what budget we had and how many free transfers there are to play with. The answer to the first is still relevant though, just in a different way than usual, in that our Team Value was £103.1m. Not ‘Kane’ high, but not particularly paltry either. Fun fact apropos nothing; the highest TV is an eye-watering £113.9m (albeit it’s deliberately manufactured with a ‘price capture only’ team).
To reiterate our previously laid plans then, we still intend to follow the path of;
– FH32
– GW33 sees our GW31 team return with all those ‘blankers’ in it
– WC34
– BB35
– TC whenever else we see fit
With the formalities out of the way, onto our FH decisions. We won’t go over every single one as many are ‘givens’; the likes of Sterling, Kun, Hazard, Pogba and some defensive combo of Man City / Chelsea / Man United were almost inevitable, and make up the bedrock of 90% of FH teams we are seeing in the comments.
But the devil is often in the detail and so we shall touch briefly on that;
Kane / Higuain – We’d have happily had one or both but in all honesty either one simply meant too many compromises elsewhere for us. Give us an extra couple of mil and we probably could have worked one in, and almost certainly would have done. We had a core though and didn’t want to budge on those.
Rashford / Batshuayi – Given the above we decided on a front line of Kun + 2 mid-priced options to enable our fairly standard FH midfield of Hazard, Sterling, Pogba and Milivo’pen’vic plus the fairly standard FH defence we previously mentioned.
Bats has been on (relatively) fine form since he joined and he carried that on with Belgium over the International Break and is still hugely budget friendly. Rashford’s stock was bumped up by the news that Lukaku looks like he may remain out for a few weeks, therefore pushing Marcus back up into the No. 9 position he flourished in under Ole at the start of his reign (of defiant friendliness). On his ‘yellow flag / injury status’ we have heard good things which suggest he is fine and dandy, should Ole reveal otherwise in his press conference on Friday we shall of course look for a replacement; ooooh… the luxury of a FH and all that.
The defence – This was always just a case of juggling which / how many ‘premium’ ones we could fit in, given the favourable fixtures for all of Chelsea and both Manchester clubs. In the end we settled on a full set of them including a double up on Chelsea. What could possibly go wrong…

I just congratulated one of the guys the page over on bringing him in.

I thought I was set but at 4.2m, he’s on a personal high after the international games, defs an interesting option
He spoke a lot and also said he has a lot to learn I’m not expecting him to start this GW
Fair doos smash. Like I say I’m somewhat content on my current team but that defs made me question things. Even if I downgrade mili to him it doesn’t really aid things. I’d have to downgrade another player to make it worthwhile and I’m not sure if its worth it. Could be a great differential if you’re chasing though!
Thoughts on the WC team? 0 in the bank unfortunately.
I dont think sterling starts both games so I’d be slightly worried about captaining him.
Wan Bissaka a slight doubt so Schlupp playing as a mid might be a safer choice .
I also think Jiminez gets rested in 1 game but I understand the attraction when his price allows for the rest of your team
Will Aguero play both games though? Jesus is lurking, as is Mahrez… Could be both Sterling and Aguero don’t start both, we have to remember that in the GW25 the fixtures were a lot tougher, Arsenal and Everton, which might be why Kun started both and Sane played so few minutes, whereas now very easy fixtures so Pep might think he can put Jesus in, Sterling didn’t start against Everton in GW25 but came on on the 59th minute as it was only 1-0 at that point, this should not happen against Cardiff at home as City will probably have won the match by the halftime… The fixtures are so easy there could easily be more rotation now than in GW25…
Very true but at least Aguero has had a rest during internationals whereas sterling hasn’t. I’m just stabbing in the dark but I think aguero starts both, gets taken off around 70mins. Sterling starts 1 then starts the other on the bench. None of know anything when Peps involved but that’s my guess
Yeah I think Aguero is a tiny bit more likely to play both… Sterling is in form though…
I think Kun starts both. Golden boot contention, rest and regaining lead stuff. Pep wouldn’t want to lose any of the games due to Aguero not starting. He’s already had a taste against Swans in FA cup. That’s just what I think though. Might be wrong

That’s good :)There’s no point Doherty sat on your bench. I’d downgrade him and then try to upgrade AWB and if possible Luke Shaw.

Depends on your team. Who do you have already? I wouldn’t take a hit unless it was for a big-hitter like Aguero, Sterling, Hazard, Pogba…

Thoughts on my FH team ?
Open to any suggestions. Have a 25 point deficit in my ML that if like to catch up on.
My team is mostly comprised of the usual suspects but due to cash restraints I’m having to make do in 1 or 2 other posirions.
Depends how set on Higuain you are? Losing him for Bats could really plump up Boly and Foster.
That was my first draft.
Downgrading him to Bata can gimme funds to do Laporte And azpi for boly and luiz

The triple up on palace is making me nervous though
If you swap Hig to Bats that allows you to upgrade 3 others. Foster to Kepa, Boly to Laporte and Delo to Mili (no rotation risk)
And have change to up luiz to azpi… That was my first draft actually.
Somehow found higuain to be more of a shoo in for points rather than CS for defenders.
But I guess I’ll go with your suggestion.
Hey Zed. This is my current team. Not that bad I believe. But, need to beat many ML rivals. Playing for ML now, if you ask me. Need some differentials. No WC/FH left.
Thinking of doing Rice and Arnie to Batshuayi and Luiz. Or McCarthy and Hayden to Ederson and Milivojevic for a -8.. Does it seem OK or any other suggestible changes?
