Fantasy football Trends From The Top – GW32
Welcome to this week’s edition of Trends From the Top. What are the leaders doing and what will they being doing? There are interesting weeks ahead and it will be interesting to see what are leaders are up to. Are they prepping their teams for DGW33 and do they have a wildcard in their back pocket?
Who was the most captained player by the top ten for Gameweek 32?
This week, 40% of top managers selected Aguero as their captain pick while another 40% selected Payet. One manager selected Arnautovic while the other manager selected a defender and got very lucky with Bellerin as their captain choice.
With the upcoming gameweek in which Everton and Crystal Palace play two matches, were there any signs/indications that our leaders were stocking up on strategic players?
In trying to find trends and gameplay reflective of the upcoming DGW, I couldn’t find anything. And actually, with the exception of Hennessey, no top player possessed any Everton or Crystal Palace players in their GW 32 squad. Having said this, our #1 leader had Coleman on the bench while leaders #5 and #10 had Hennessey on their sidelines. No players had Lukaku.
Who were the most popular players chosen by the top ten for Gameweek 32?
Goalkeepers: 30% of the top 10 played Courtois while 20% selected Gomes. The remaining managers played de Gea, Foster, Forster, Ospina and Hennessey.
Defenders: For Gameweek 32, only 14 defenders made the cut. Bellerin was the most popular as 8 of the 10 managers selected him. Bellerin was followed by Fuchs, Alderweireld and Huth (40% ownership), and Williams (30%). The remaining defenders were the following all with 10% ownership: Walker, Azpilicueta, Smalling, Otamendi, Clyne, Kolarov, Koscielny, Cresswell and Morgan.
Midfielders: When you look at midfielders, the top 10 managers had 9 different picks with several getting only 10% of the vote such as Wijnaldum, Coutinho and Silva. 100% of managers selected Mahrez, while 70% selected Payet, 60% Alli, and 50% Ozil and Sigurdsson. Arnautovic wrapped up the group with 40% ownership.
Forwards: This week, the front line consisted of only 5 picks among the top managers. 100% had Kane while another 90% had Aguero. Vardy was another popular pick with 60% ownership and Rondon and Berahino each came in with an ownership rate of 10%.
In summation, the Must-Haves for top managers for Gameweek 32 were Bellerin, Mahrez, Payet, Alli , Ozil, Sigurdsson, Kane, Aguero and Vardy as they all had an ownership rate of 50% or higher.
How many wildcards are available amongst the top ten?
All but 4 players have deployed their 2nd wildcard for the season. Players in positions 2, 5, 9 and 10 have their wildcards available.
Other interesting facts:
* The average score for Gameweek 32 among the top 10 was 74.8 points which is an impressive 27.8 points above average for the week.
* Players in the 4th and 5th positions have been in the top ten for over 17 weeks! Our #9 leader is new to the group and his impressive 90 points for GW 32 was most advantageous!
* Sweden represented 30% of the leaders (#6, #8 and #10) while England had 20% (#1 and #7). The following countries represented are: Ireland (#2) Bosnia-Herzegovina (#3), Australia (#4), Canada (#5) and India (#9).

Omg, the CL site sucks. It forgot to tell me I was on 8 transfers so -4. It only showed that after. I did it in 2 or 3 times. First time 2 transfers, second time I don’t know and the third time it said I was on 4/6 transfers Guess it meant to say 6/6. What screw ups. I was multi tasking, but what was their excus? ^^

Yeah that would be ideal! Unfortunately I can’t afford that. Would you still go 1 with Taylor? I think the bonus point potential of Bellerin and Fuchs could compensate for have a crapper like Taylor?

Yeah I’m stuck at the moment. Triple captain Sanchez or bench boost! Currently wildcarding. I think bench boost will gain me a lot more so will need to use my triple another week.
Good evening gentlemen, how’s your week going? I’ve finally got a WC draft that I think I can live with. If you’ve got any feedback I’d love to hear it! This team gives me 2 DGW players for 33, 13 DGW players for 34, and will allow me to field a keeper and a 11 players for gw35 (barring injuries). .2 left over for the option of swapping DDG and Lukaku for Schmeichel and Sturridge before gw 35.
Oh, and Rashford would get benched unless United have a DGW. It’s 3-5-2 from here on out!

Its not ideal Mitro but he’s a DGW filler.
I made the point to the site boys earlier as we were discussing ours: TC vs BB. I’m TCing Alexis in 34 and assuming he plays the majority of both games I feel 25pts is realistic, therefore 75pts as TC.
The one question I ask all wildcarders is: do you think your 4 extra “bench” players (assuming you are BBing in 34) can total 25pts?
If not, and if your 4 “makeweights” (Delaney, Darlow etc etc) don’t look like totalling 25pts, should you rethink and TC Alexis?
That’s my issue with BBing Delaney/Ward (away to Utd & Arsenal) etc.
That’s my thinking. I may be way off with this. My estimate for Alexis may be wrong. Something to think about though?

Yes, that’s it exactly Cookie. He’s cheap as chips and has 2 DGWs in a row. After GW34 he’ll be sat so far down the bench you’ll need binoculars to see him. I’m not expecting more than 8 points total from him really, anything more than that will be icing on the cake.
I could actually afford Evans from WBA who has a DGW and winnable home match against Watford, plus a game in 35. But then I wouldn’t have any money to drop Lukaku for Sturridge after he disappoints us all over the next couple weeks. It’s tough shopping down there in the lowest price range!
Cookie, that’s an interesting take on TC vs BB. I’m not sure Sanchez will get 25 points (I hope he does!), but it’s a very interesting thought. After playing my WC and setting up for BB I feel like I’m too invested now to switch things up at this point. It was hard enough getting THIS team sorted, lol.
Those of you NOT using TC in gw34, who and when are you thinking about for TC? I’ve got my eye on Payet’s DGW in 37.

Hey Red. Why no 15 dgw’ers for GW34? With a WC to play, there’s plenty of ways to get it done and remain legit for the weeks after.
I’m open for suggestions NIN! I’ve kept Mahrez in there because he was so cheap when I got him I think FPL paid me to take him early doors. Probably couldn’t afford to get him back if I sell him now! As far as Simpson goes, that was mainly fixtures, form, budget, and having enough bodies for gw35 really.

Damn, that’s an impressive TV elle. I was trying to play a little smarter and not take risks to save/make money this season. We’ll see how it plays out, I’m at 45,305 right now. Not great but considering the shit show dumpster fire this season has been it could be a lot worse!

Has anyone seem a WC draft with Iwobi in it? I was toying around with that and it gives me loads of extra money for elsewhere, but I just took the lead in my ML and I feel his playing time is too risky. Opted for Coutino instead. Anyone think Iwobi is nailed at this point?
Yeah Iwobi will get good game time, what else have Arsenal to play for!
Haha, good point Dicky! Iwobi is a beast, he would be a nice differential too. Wonder how he’ll stack up with Coutinho points-wise over the rest of the season.

Thanks hammers, I played around with that same combo. Probably not too much difference between Martial and Rashford at this point, but I’d go with Martial too if I had the money sitting around. This way I won’t feel bad benching Rashford except during DGWs though. Best of luck this weekend, hope our teams pay off!
Hi guys..hope everyone is having fun with the wc and dgw preparation…my dilema is:
A) KDB and Rashford
B) Barkley and Martial
I am leaning towards B with my wc team. Any advise would help me decide..thanks!!

Hey shabby. There’s not all that much difference between Martial and Rashford IMO, both have about the same chance for points. But there’s quite a bit of difference between KDB and Barkley in his current position and form. Plus KDB has a match in gw35. Tough to know what will happen, but I’ve opted to get KDB in my own WC team, so that’s what I would suggest.
Another option shabby is getting Barkley in for his DGW33 but having a plan and funds in place to swap him out for KDB or another player for GW34 or 35. Start with Barkley and Rashford and then drop Barkley if he doesn’t impress during DGW33.
