FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 25

Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 25. A green arrow! Albeit a very small one. But after 4 straight red ones we shall take it. We rose a measly 4k in the rankings and now sit in 252,220th place. Hardly ideal but we will keep plugging away. We scored 55 last time out, 5 above the average. We were hoping for more of a rise given that we profited from that Kun hat-trick, if only we had captained him… and so said many. We instead captained Kane and rued his last minute sitter… and so said many. Our defence were the main culprits in us not hitting any real heights as they brought home just 7 points between the 4 of them. Despite at least 3 of them having fixtures in which you would have almost expected a clean sheet. Christensen was the outlier as Chelsea did indeed deliver said clean sheet but the clown once again managed to get himself subbed off before the crucial 60 minute mark… and so said many. And we had that other clown Niasse sat 3rd on our bench and he only came on and scored didn’t he! We were probably alone on that one.

And so on to GW25. Which was looking all rosy and simple until the Arnie news came out and then Masuaku decided to go all Frank Rijkaard on us. Oh dear, we have some tough decisions ahead and possibly a hit on the horizon… and so said many!

Last weeks result…

This weeks transfers… Masuaku, Arnautovic and (gulp) Kane to Alonso, Pogba and Firmino
We’ve only gone and played a mini wildcard! We had a couple of free transfers to play with but little by way of cash and we were struggling to find any real decent alternatives to Spit The Dog and his mate Arnie. And so we are taking advantage of Kane’s little run of tough games to improve the overall balance and it enables us to bring in some quality replacements rather than sub standard ones who we didn’t really want.

The elephant in the corner is of course leaving ourselves short in terms of a straight swap of Kun back to Kane come GW28. We will deal with this in due course though with a downgrade somewhere. Knowing FPL some injury or suspension will probably force that issue anyway.

The team in full

Our captain is Sergio Aguero
They are at home. Against West Brom. Need we explain more?!

Anyone know when the Chelsea presser is? I need to know what they say about Courtois’s availability.

    Sterling or Salah captain?

It seems very tempting to transfer Kane for Aguero until GW28, even with a -4 and I would change him to Captain as against Salah – reasons why this is not a good idea?

Thanks GP your confirmation very much appreciated. So will go ahead as soon as I know Courtois will play as that will need another -4 as I have Elliot!

Just a random question! Anyone looking at Bernardo Silva as a differential? With no Sane I think he could be worth a punt. Thoughts please. Thanks

      Neilos,

As much as I love him as a player and have for the last few years, I can’t support someone with those minutes in the league. It’s a BIG punt to take even with Sane’s injury.

      • Neilos says:

Hey GP. Thanks for the response. I’m looking at alternatives for Arnautovic, I was looking at Mkhi but Arnautovic dropped 0.1. Am thinking Walcott and…..

      • Neilos says:

GP I’ve still not committed to a replacement – however I did some digging on Bernado Silva –

“Bernardo Silva has been directly involved in nine goals (3 goals, 6 assists) in his last 13 games in all competitions, this after failing to register a single goal or assist in any of the 12 games prior to this run”

Now I know his minutes aren’t great, but I had a look at the team sheets for Man City in the last 5/6 games. They haven’t really got a like for like replacement on their bench for Sane, which leads me to think Bernardo could be a good one to have in the team. They should do well against West Brom, Burnley and Leicester. It is a long shot – Walcott on the other hand will definitely start……

        • AT says:

Their ostensible lack of replacements on the bench is why I brought him in. Perfect opportunity to take a punt because no one else was screaming out at me.

        • Neilos says:

AT this is what I’m also thinking. We’d expect Walcott to do well and they have a decent few games coming up. But Bernardo’s appeal is growing

        • eresh12 says:

@neilos – still in a pickle between walcott or shaqiri. bernardo seems tempting but need to take a hit to bring in him.

@AT – i see you didnt go with moses and albrighton. who else did u bring in other than bernardo?

        • Neilos says:

Hi Eresh, for the price range of 7.5 nothing is appealing as such. I just spent ages looking at alternatives to make a gain on my leagues. I just have this feeling of Bernardo doing well. Left footed and will provide decent cover for Sane. Just thinking outside the box. Amazing as last night I was sold on mkhitaryan!

        • AT says:

Hi eresh. I took a point hit to get Bardsley for Daniels to fund it. Dunno if it’ll be worth it, but I enjoy risk taking in this game!

        • eresh12 says:

well said neilos. best of luck AT. It is a good risk indeed!
