FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW16

Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team GW16. Following consecutive red arrows in GWs 13 & 14 we managed to claw our way back up the ranks with a final score of 68 in GW15. This comfortably beat the average of 45 and saw us climb back up to 36,483, our best rank of the season so far.

With our defence and keeper returning just 3pts between them we were largely indebted to Captain Kane and Private Fraser who contributed 12pts each (doubled for Kane) with Richarlison not far behind with 10pts. Further solid performances from Jimenez, Sane and a late Salah assist managed to largely negate Arnie’s 0pts!

Last weeks result in full…

Happy with our progress we march on confidently into GW16, but now in search of an Arnie replacement, and with our wildcard still to be used. Could this finally be the week….

This weeks transfer decision(s)
No.

The wildcard lives on, burning a hole in our pockets while at the same time we have taken a hit to remove Salah! There’s logic there somewhere.

Arnie’s (latest) injury and free scoring Arsenal’s fixtures were the caveat for such an extraordinary course of action. Sterling coming in is hardly a bad option, especially as he had a good rest in midweek. Arsenal’s current run of form along with their imminent fixture schedule focuses the mind on them really and hence we made one of their forwards a priority to replace Arnie. We could have simply taken Wilson in but his fixtures turn south whilst Salah’s form is not explosive enough to justify either his price tag or his place instead of Sterling in our team any longer. And so it’s another week and another City mid added, feels like we shall keep on doing this until we have them all!

In truth we would probably have preferred Aubayemang to Lacazette but funds dictated otherwise and with Lacazette likely to return the starting line-up we’re comfortable with the Frenchman. (That could come back to bite us, as could Salah of course c’est la vie).

And so to confirm we have… SOLD SALAH & ARNIE AND BOUGHT STERLING & LACAZETTE

Our Captain is Lacazette
Straight in the team and awarded the armband. Giving a Frenchman this sort of responsibility may be considered reckless, nay insane. But with the Gooners at home to Huddersfield, what could possibly go wrong? Just in case Monsieur Lacazette runs away never to be seen again, Kane is our vice.

Our team in full…

Good to go? Players on the bench make sense and are they in the correct order?

Anyone done any moves yet if so what are they?

    Capo?

Really don’t know what to do with my team, got a few ideas but I don’t know if it’s worth it this week, they would defo set me up for the next few weeks though:

    A. Barkley to Fraser
    B. Ederson and Barkley to Leno and Anderson (-4)
    C. Salah and Jimenez to sane and Lacazette (-4)
    D. Alonso to kola (frees up 2.7 to upgrade Barkley for Gw17)

    Thoughts?

1ft and 0itb, Arnie to Mitro is what I am thinking vs a hit but the moves by the site team have me reconsidering. What would others recommend based on this squad.

    Hi guys!
Any suggestions, what to do with this team?
I wanna give Salah one more week, than change him with Sterling. Also, I think Alonso is not worth his price, maybe VVD is better pick.

This week I’m really close to sell Arnie to Lucas Perez! Really interesting that there is no love for him, after his last week points and praise from coach.
    Comment please!

      Mr Bean says:

Alonso is a season keeper imo (unless he loses his place). His return for a £6.5 to £7m player is unrivalled – Wilson/Fraser are currently as good/better value but I honestly can’t see them keeping that up for the whole season.

Arnie to Perez/Mitrovic would be my pick this week, and like the Salah move next week.

      • gorson14 says:

        Okay good reply..
What about captain, really like the Lacazette pick!

      • Smash says:

Alonso’s points mainly came in the first three weeks. Not saying get rid but if you take his average since then which was a long time ago it’s not great

        • Smash says:

47% of Alonso’s FPL points this season came in the first 4 GWs to be more exact.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Yeah, this is a great point, Alonso has been very average ever since GW3… It would be easy to sell if the fixtures weren’t so good after City, but I guess a downgrade should be worth in anyway, TAA or Bellerin or even Trippier when fit should offer a lot better value imo!

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Unless, of course, Sarri changes Alonso’s role again which wouldn’t be that unlikely given Chelsea’s struggles, Sarri might wanna try something to get them going again…

        • Smash says:

Judging by his comments on Kante last week I can’t see him changing the formation.. Chelsea’s fixtures are not bad either. All depends on what you do with extra cash

        • inittowinit says:

Sarri quite famously did not change his formation a single time at Napoli last season.
