No Kun do…
When the week begins with the ever consistent Jimenez blanking against bottom club Huddersfield and then Doherty conceding a clean sheet in the dying minutes you could be forgiven for thinking it would be another one of those weeks. The truth is, it very nearly was. It took another attacking full back to pull us back from the brink really, as TAA weighed in with an unusual hat-trick of assists, a clean sheet and full bonus points for an unexpected haul of 18. Just as well really as the rest of them were a bit lacklustre. Digne got us a clean sheet, spoiled by an inevitable yellow, idiot that he is. Shaw and Pogba both chipped in with assists and Aubameyang got us a goal but it wasn’t quite the haul we were hoping for, especially when Liverpool score five at home and your captain is Salah…

All in all it netted us a reasonably respectable 55. Albeit just 2 pints above the average. It did however mean a small drop in overall rank of just over 1k places and we now sit at 36,274th.

Last week’s result…

Before we get going on this weeks decision we should remind you that;
THIS WEEKS DEADLINE IS; SATURDAY @ 11:30

This week’s transfer decision…
This week we had 1 FT and £3.4m in the bank, aka the Kun fund…

We’ve had a chequered history with Kun this season, most of it being black. With Pep usually only talking on a Friday and with us usually having to make a transfer decision on a Thursday we are often left scratching around in the dark in regards to whether to sell him, buy him or indeed captain him. The truth is that had we done this article on Thursday we may well have been edging very closely to buying him again. The fact that fate pushed us back a day meant that we had full sight of the pressers and in particular Pep’s revelation that Jesus has risen again. Coupled with Pep’s midweek comments about Kun being exhausted we have decided to swerve our original plan. Onto plan B. Or C…

Plan B was always to simply hold the transfer, and an eminently sensible one it would have been too. Until someone popped up with a whole more exciting and aggressive Plan C. Which was to chase the Fulham spiral, namely with Hazard. The fact that he also adds an extra body to our BGW31 team, along with a potential (very favourably fixtured) one for DGW32 helped pushed this over the line. The big downside was that we were £0.2m short of Anderson being the fall guy, and unfortunately Son has had to leave instead. We are sure we shall meet again though, some sonny day….

To confirm then; we have BOUGHT HAZARD & SOLD SON

Our Captain is Hazard, our Vice is Pogba
Hazard went full circle from not only not being in our team, or indeed not even being a faint consideration to be, to getting a full house of captaincy votes, all within about 30 minutes. Don’t ever say we don’t do things by halves!

Our team in full…

Planning Ahead…
We feel compelled to keep touching on this given the questions on the site about it. The truth though is that we still don’t have a definitive plan, and we may not do so until the remaining DGW32 fixtures are announced, which won’t be until after GW31, which is a bit of a Catch 22 situation in itself. We did ask for some serious planning suggestions from the committee though and we got 3 different plans back;

1. WC30, FH31, TC32, GW33 (use to 2fts to field 6/7), GW34 (save ft or switch to double players), BB35 (4/5 won’t have a double but 3 of those will be Liverpool).

2. Build for 31, FH32, WC34, BB35, TC ON A SINGLE.

3. Build for 31, WC32, FH33, BB35, TC ON A SINGLE.

All of which have their own positives and negatives, all of which probably leave us looking short for either BGW31 or BGW33. The fact that there were three laid out on the table as preferences probably tells you all you need to know in terms of there not being a correct answer at this stage.

Out of interest this is how our team looks in relation to the (admittedly finger in the air) Fixture Tracker;

All we can do really is keep an eye on it

    Evening everyone,

Think I’ve decided on a chip strategy! Going to take two hits between now and GW31 to field 11 and then free hit in GW32. Wildcard will most likely be in GW34 and then bench boost in GW35. Wildcard probably GW36 on a Liverpool player against Huddersfield – not ideal to use it on a single but there’s so much up in the air. It’s an initial plan, anyway, lots could happen between now and then.

With the above in mind, what do you reckon to Son and Kamara to Higuain and Pedro? Would leave me with £0 in the bank and thus team…

A plan is finally forming, I have one eye on the upcoming GW’s and 2 Pool players are prime pickings.
    1. Son (really seems to have gone off the boil since Kane has come back in) > Mane (Bang in form)
    2. Shaw (Who is 1 yellow away from suspension) > Van Dijk (Phenomenal form and at 6.5m great value)

I know I already have TAA but Van Dijk brings with him CS points and scoring potential. A little like a certain Alonso we used to know. Cheers Sarri. Any advice is always very welcome.

Presumably you’re looking at plumping out for 31 then with 32 as a FH / WC?

      • specialK says:

That was one of my plans. I’m still not sure to be honest, feel like I have no clue what I’m doing and I’m just walking myself into a disaster lol

        • inittowinit says:

You’ve gone from having a plan to having a disaster in 2 posts smile Pull yourself together man!

You need to sort of decide whether you can cope best in 31 or 32 for starters. My best friend tonight has been my team tracker planner using the main fixture tracker. I’d start with one of these in all honesty. So much easier to see where you stand for each week. Takes 5 mins to put your own team in. I can email you one if you like?

    Hi all.

I’d really appreciate some advice for this game week. I’m completely confused by all the DGW/FH/TC/WC strategies. I’ll devote this weekend to figure it out.

For now, I have 1FT and 1.3ITB. I’ve got playing subs but am concerned about Aguero.
Any suggestions? Kun out? Roll the FT?

    Thanks all

I have Kun and am keeping him but I won’t be giving him the arm band… too risky with Jesus back now.

      DMC says:

Hi Chins, given that you don’t have your chip strategy clear I’d lean towards saving it. Sure, Kun’s at risk of not starting the game but that’s not to say he wont play at all and we know what a few minutes can mean. I wouldn’t captain him as specialK mentioned but having 2 FT will come handy after said chip plans are settled. And if you end up FH31 for example, you’ll then rue not having Kun for 30 (vs Watford) and in deed on DGW 32 where they presumably have a tasty double vs Fulham and Cardiff. Presumably. So, unless you were sure not to FH 31 I wouldn’t recommend selling him this gw. On the contrary, if you are convinced that you will NOT FH in 31 then I’d bin him now for Higuain or Vardy. Hopes it makes sense.

      • chins says:

Awesome stuff there DMC. Lots to ponder. Really appreciate the response mate.

        • DMC says:

My pleasure.I got round of it a bit clearer in my head just this evening too in terms of the actual players I’ll be possibly bringing in untill 31 so all is a bit up in the air and all discussions are valuable atm. Looking at your team I can see 6 bodies playing in 31. Well, perhaps 5 given that one is an Huddersfield defender. Anyway, you have 3 FT untill then so a decent squad is viable. If you go that route you just need to really choose well the “who and when to sell” and make sure you buy people that also have a guarenteed game in 33 (Liverpool, Leicester, Chelsea, for instance). That way you can confortably FH in 32, WC 34 and BB 35. The TC will probably be played in a single gw or in a double envolving Chelsea.

Os just go to the pool bar! smile

        • chins says:

So….. I could say screw it and do Inits Kun to Hig idea AND claim I’m working towards the chip strategy you so kindly helped me out with?! Sounds like we have a plan fellas. Thanks both for all you help!

        • DMC says:

You could yes, if you are willing to go Kun-less next week vs Watford at home.
If you follow that chip route, you’ll probably ditch Son and Kun (because they are the ones that you probably have less value attached to – don’t forget you’ll want back for FH32) so there’s a case to be made here that perhaps sonny is your best transfer out this week. You see, Kun may bot feature, but what’s best: Son vs Arsenal and then vs Saints away or Kun with a few minutes vs B.mouth and then at home to Watford? You’ll probably want to cap him for that game too, whereas Liverpool, albeit a good fixture, will be looking at bayern in the following midweek. I don’t know, if you fell Son delivers vs Arsenal then yeah, ditch Kun and buy Higuain. If you have doubts over Son’s form, maybe keep Kun and sell him for say Mane? If you can’t decide, then I’ll go back to my initial thoughts which were “save it”. This allows you to keep Son one more week, to have Kun for Watford and 2 shiny FT to proper plan the chip strategy. You’d miss out any and all pts Higuain can (and will) accrue at Fulham.

        • chins says:

Yeah, despite what Init says about you, you actually talk a lot of sense DMC.

I’ll stick with Kun for the reasons you state. Mane is a great shout.

          Thanks again

      inittowinit says:

Hi Chins, I really want to bin Kun (temporarily) for Higuain and also captain the latter. I can’t seem to make that make sense with my own chip plan for 32 though.

If, hypothetically, I had a 2nd team, let’s call it Team Chins, and I had no chip strategy in place yet, that’s exactly what I’d do.

    DMC says:

Anyone still up for a chip strategy? This is what I’m leaning to do atm (have been preping the team for it). Strategy is deadend the team with FT and play with 10 in bgw31, then FH32, count my guns in 33, WC34, BB35 and TC in a SGW. Pic includes proposed moves from tonight to gw31. No hits involved. 2FT, 0.1. Would appreciate any and all thoughts. Cheers

      chins says:

Help me out here mate…. What the fudge does “count my guns” mean?!
In Texas I could see people literally doing that, but I’m guessing that’s not how you meant it.

      • DMC says:

        ahaha that made me laugh
It’s a direct translation from portuguese that I have just learned not make sense in english.
It basically means “see what I got coming from my gw31 players”. It’s a metaphore of course and the players are the guns.
