Oh dear, oh dear. What a shambles. We of course cancelled our proposed Bench Boost and opted instead to play our Triple Captain chip on Aguero. You know the rest. Kun contributed a mere single assist in 2 matches while Dunk & Duffy recorded a clean sheet apiece and came within a whisker of doubling that. At least it was Eriksen that broke Brighton hearts.
Overall we scored 91pts which in all honesty is hardly bad. It was still 24 above the overall average but it could and should have been triple figures and those opportunities don’t come around often. Had we followed our original plan and bought Wilson and then Bench Boosted we’d have landed on 107. Which is not untypical of how the gain looked overall for those who chose to TC vs those who went with BB. Lessons learned and all that…
We were saved late on by goals from Doherty & Jota. That was the highlight. There were too many underperformers to name and shame them all.
Despite a weekly rank of 416,343 we still lost a small amount of ground, falling to a season long rank of 12,518 from a previous 11,785.
But it’s now a Big Bench Boost week for us so anything is still possible, quite literally!

This week’s transfer – we have sold Eriksen & Deeney and bought Mané & Zaha. And we are (finally) playing our Bench Boost Chip 
You couldn’t make this up. We are nothing but reactionary. Having cancelled our Bench Boost last week we were running out of options of when to actually bother with it. The choice was realistically GW36 with our two Brighton defenders home to Newcastle or the lottery of GW38 when we could potentially load up on Saints at home to Huddersfield.
The committee meeting was a little dispirited – two members tried to resign, while another mumbled something about retirement. And the cold hearted one didn’t bat an eyelid and carried on as if nothing had happened.
With two free transfers in hand Man̩ and Mitrovic and the activation of Bench Boost was the opening suggestion from one of the potential quitters. P̩rez was briefly mentioned as an alternative to Mitro but the opening motion was carried unanimously Рit appeared that no-one had the balls or energy to argue.
So that was decided. Or so we thought.
However, a few hours later the other resignee pointed out that despite scoring from the spot last week, Mitrovic had previously gone 10 GW’s without scoring. Zaha was thrown up as an alternative.
We were now entering dangerous territory. It was this sort of last minute ambush that initiated our problems last week.
Worryingly, Zaha narrowly won the re-vote. Given our current state of decision making we recommend you all go out and buy Mitrovic! And avoid Zaha. And stick to your own plans
Later on we felt slightly better by Rosco tipping both Zaha & Perez in his article… and Mitrovic wasn’t mentioned. A good sign? Let’s hope so.
So Dunk & Duffy get another go. Gulp. A lovely looking home fixture vs a team that struggles on the road – what could possibly go wrong?
Our Captain for GW36 is Mo Salah. It was him or Mané and the Egyptian narrowly won that one. Mané is our vice captain in case Salah is still feeling the effects of the violent assault he suffered at Cardiff last week.

In the mobile version, whenever I’m trying to scroll down and just touch the “area” of “REPLY” tab, it automatically opens the reply box. I have to “cancel reply” everytime with every touch basically.

Yeah, we know, it’s being fixed. Ran an update last week and something has caused the entire bottom line parallel to the reply button to become active. Technically it’s an over extended code, if you actually wanted to know

I’ve gone with Duffy ahead of Wolves def as i think that Watford will likely score at home. I don’t generally bank on attacking returns but that offsets the risk slightly should you choose to go with Doherty. I’d keep Jota in ahead of JWP though. Jota has more potential upside IMO. Hope this helps!

I fancy Bobby to do some damage but I prefer the other two, def Jiminez over JWP but given your advice below then go with your ‘feeling’ 😉
I wouldn’t go with Firmino ahead of the other two unless chasing. I prefer Jimenez over JWP. Just my two cents.

I would roll the FT – having a couple next week will be very handy – and maybe just start Gray over Jota.

Hi Folks, hope you all enjoyed a good DGW. Could use a second opinion and I apologize in advance for the lengthy post.
The question: is Sterling and Jota to Salah and Hojberg (bench) worth a -4? My plan was always to get Salah in and TC this week but now that I think about it, I’m not so sure it’s the right call. Considerations:
A. Already have Mane, who’s on better form over the last few months and the TC alternative.
B. Sterling could just as easily outscore Salah and not sure I want to lose the City coverage.
C. Salah has high ownership and will surely be TCed by many. High risk not owning him.
If I don’t make the move, Mane would be the TC and I would hold the FT (can’t get a pool defender without a hit either). May play Gray ahead of Jota. Thanks in advance!
It’s difficult for a -4. Depends on your ML position I guess. Who do your rivals have? Are you chasing or protecting a lead?
If its for OR, then go with your gut.
My ML is pretty much won. I’m ahead by 100 points from 2nd. I’m trying to get as high an OR as I can. I’m at 5.7K now and assuming I can hold, this would be 4 of the last 5 seasons inside the top 10K! Hence the reluctance to take the hit. It’s a game of margins now.
Erlanger… I think I’d hold with Sterling and Jota.. and I’d play Jota over Gray. Just gut stuff from me, no stats to back it up.. but of course, your Mini league situation may play into any decisions..

I would say no. That -4, from where you’re sat would see you slip back, and you wouldn’t want to do that.
I’m taking 2 transfers into next week – am thinking Rashford – and I think that’s a good position to be in.
You’re showing admirable consistency.
I think I’d start Gray over Jota, but not a lot in it.
I’ve got a team for the week.. after a more than respectable 118 last week and a good 120+ lead in my ML.. took a -4… not playing the TC on the Pool this week, but covering the big hitters. Probably hold the TC for 38.. lining up like this.. Good to go???
Solid team. I think that Watford will score so may want to consider Dunk ahead of Doherty but otherwise good to go. Any particular reason you’re opting not to TC?
I’d say with a 120 point lead, doesn’t matter what your team looks like (It looks good)!!!
cheers guys!.. yeah.. the lead lets me see what the other boys will do with their TC this week.. not worried about a 2 to 3 ratio if they TC Salah as well..
and I have more faith in Doherty getting on the score sheet than Dunk keeping that clean sheet Erlanger.. but that’s just me playing my best players every week.
