GW3 was tough. Really tough. We brought in a couple of Ole’s babies and one eeked out an assist, the other sh*t the bed, to be frank. Martial got us 5 points for his troubles, Wan-B got us zero after a yellow card and a late goal conceded. Not every transfer decision can be perfect and Palace at home screamed clean sheet. In theory…
Wan-B’s defensive compatriots didn’t fare much better as they amassed 7 points between the sorry lot of them.
Our ‘left-field GW1’ pick McGinn got us an assist to keep things ticking along in the midfield budget basement. Our premium mids did what they do with Salah and Sterling (C) bringing home 31 between them.
Up top we may have some issues as Jota and Kane got two points apiece.
Overall we got 53 points, which was 9 above the average. It somehow meant a green arrow, albeit the tiniest of ones and we moved up 300 spots to sit at 82,365th.

Our GW4 Transfer(s)
Problems have been mounting as Martial has been ruled out, Walker-Peters looks likely to be so, our front-line is mis-firing, our back-line is conceding and even our sub keeper was getting so fed up with them all he buggered off on loan to Ipswich for the season. Now we could have ridden some of this but in all honesty a mini overhaul was on the cards and we wanted to jump on some in form players early doors before their prices prohibited us from doing so. As such we voted to WILDCARD this week.
As for our actual picks many (most) need little or no explanation as quite frankly it looks like a who’s who of who has scored the most points recently. We believe that is called ‘form’ though and so make no apologies for doing so. Our front-line is a case in point; it now consists of the three highest scoring forwards in the game. Chasing points much, you may ask. In all honesty no because they are simply the form guys and we wish we had had the hindsight to pick them all from GW1!
If you have further questions about the choices please feel free to ask them in the comments below and we are sure one of the committee will be on hand to offer any explanations but as we say it looks pretty straightforward as to the why bit in most cases.

Captain – Ben Stokes Sergio Aguero
If we could have captained our hero Ben then we would have (many did in the Captain Poll!) but it was a toss up between Kun and Sterling and it could have been either way round really. We clearly feel that City may go on one this week, despite Brighton’s promising start. Kun edged it narrowly, Raheem will back up if Pep suddenly decides to lose his mind rotate.

I already used my FT and in a hitting mood. What about Martial > Mount and King > Haller for 8ph? The first hit (selling Martial) anyway I have to take. I am not confident on King though the fixture for next 3-4 GWs looks good, but BOU as a team is not looking that good.
I am not 100% sure what is a good time to WC – may be next break OR wait as long as I can. Is there a fixture swing at some point? I have not analysed that much.
Anyway my team is as below (quite template) – buts its a 4-4-2 team, I want to go 3-5-2/3-4-3. I wish Greenwood becomes regular, but that won’t happen.

Mount & Haller but not sure if taking an 8ph in this situation is justified. If you don’t think that Greenwood will play tomorrow then Martial’s transfer seems mandatory, but King could score against that not so convincing Leicester def.
On the other hand, Haller could score another brace and all of my analysis above will go to the crapper, so do as you wish, it’s FPL, that’s why we love(hate) it!

I got another option: Martial > Mount and Dendo > Lanzini for 8ph……that will allow me to play 3-5-2 with King and Pukki upfront…but keeping Greenwood (I really doubt if he will get a start), Lundstram and Diop in bench.

A lot more balanced. 2 of the 3 bench players should get a fair bit of game time. Do I start kelly or Söyüncü

The team helps
I don’t like it….so many uncertain/ not so great players – Adrian (not a season pick but manageable for a while…but guess Alisson will be back in few weeks), Soyuncu (not great), James (no guarantee to start and Martial is supposed to be back in Gw5 or 6), and that bench of Kelly (last match perhaps with Sakho back to first team training) and Garner (again no start).
Your WC should keep you going long term – this does not look a sustainable model team. I believe you started with Aguero as a key decision and compromised thereafter.

I am freaking out…so coming to you GM who has a lot of experience. My team is crap (Montoya, Coleman, Wickham, Hayden and expensive Robertson who brings in very little and Vardy who has to go soon) and I am very worried about being priced out. So first time today seriously thinking of WC.
Is this generally too early to WC? The site team have WAY more experience than me. I am trying to put together a team with Haller…will see how it goes. Would love your thoughts on WC timing.

I always wildcard during an internatial break… So I might after this weekend. Gives you two weeks to play with price rises and look out for injuries. The international break always has a few injuries.
I think I usually wc after gw3 or gw7. This seasons ib is after gw4 and gw8.

I see player prices for Mount, Mason etc just increased. Is that it for tonight or will other player prices still do so?
