Green arrows, we see green arrows! Our 62pt haul has lifted us to 134,896 from 283k. Good progress. Our defence was again the highlight with Robertson’s clean sheet and Alonso’s assists – both also scored maximum bps while Mendy chipped in with a single bonus point despite conceding at Wolves. Salah capo was ok, could have been more, but he is solid again. Josh King even scored for us and Tom Cairney and Firmino got involved with an assist each. Hamer, Kun and Mkhi did nowt and we won’t even name the brainless Everton midfielder.

Last Week’s Result

What have we done this week?

Sold Richarlison; Bought Lucas Moura

Ah, that surprised you, didn’t it? You were all expecting we’d make the obvious and boring move to Walcott. Yes you were. Admit it. Why not Walcott? Good question and one there’s no obvious answer to. Only one of the management team voted for young Wally and even he wasn’t 100% committed to the idea. Truth be told, we’ve all been burned by Walcott in the past. A certain Colombian will attempt to say that he suggested we get Hazard but having checked back through the minutes of our many meetings this week and we can find no evidence of such a suggestion.

Back to Lucas Moura. Why did we buy him? Because he’s not Theo Walcott! In fairness to him, he’s scored three in his last two games and while United were poor on Monday night Spurs were quite impressive and are ultimately a better and more attacking side than Everton. We certainly wouldn’t blame anyone for going down the Wally route, he does after all have two good looking home games coming up. Pedro was mentioned too but didn’t get any concrete votes. Moura did and so he is in.

The Team In Full…

Captain – Sergio Aguero

After reading this weeks Capo’s article we all asked ourselves which of the contenders for the armband we’d most like to wake up beside and Kun won, hands down. So he’s our captain. In all seriousness we can’t ignore his recent record against Newcastle, 11 goals in his last five games against them at the Etihad.

***NEW ARTICLE – SITE TEAM GW4***

Some obvious moves (captain) and some less so perhaps (transfer)….

love that move rather than the overrated and predictable Walcott. how much do you have left in the bank?

Thanks for your patience danny! Did you see my reply about when we actually made the transfer after all that? smile

I like the move too, looks like he’s finally found his feet and perhaps many have forgotten what a sought after player he was not so long back, he’s had a few wilderness seasons now because of circumstances (maybe as per Schurrle) but apparently it’s taken him this long at Spurs just to get up to the required fitness. If he’s back at his peak he’s some player.

I’d like to take him in myself but that may leave me short of the Alonso move next GW as I’d only have a 0.1 cushion and with two weeks to go that probably won’t work out favourably.

      • dannyg123 says:

yeah i agree and has low ownership too. could be a good differential. I guess it’s a tough decision what to when rich is back. yeah just saw your comment. Do you find waiting until the end of the week is the best strategy for transfers rather than doing early. how important to do you value trying to beat price rises?

        • inittowinit says:

Personally I’ll do 95% of mine on a Friday night and I totally ignore team value. Only time I’ll ever go early is if I know I ABSOLUTELY want someone and can’t afford them if I wait, and that’s usually only if there’s a capo choice involved, otherwise I won’t bother taking the chance. Maybe happens once a season. You see it every single week in the comments, someone always does it and gets bitten. I am uber cautious though, some could call it boring.

As for the site team I think we follow similar guidelines but often move on a Thursday but that’s purely for the purposes of getting the actual article out!

Thanks guys. Wish I’d have thought of Moura and cant believe I didn’t even consider him really. Come on Wally! Good luck all.

Moura lacks the essential dignity of the Walcott pick. The heroism of doomed endeavour. A lot of us have picked him knowing the move will fail. That’s endearingly human.

      • db says:

Well each time ive had Wally in the past hes done sod all but always does well for my rivals! This is his last last chance :/

        • Kralin says:

I have fond memories of Walcott from (admittedly) a while ago. Last season I got on to him too late, and couldn’t shift him, to the extent he seems to have haunted my side all summer.

But I have high hopes that Everton will create a chance or two and that somehow he’ll be able to provide an assist here and a goal there over the few weeks he’ll be in my team.

If not then I sense those who bought him this week will be overtaken by a pervasive bitterness, suspicion and intrigue.

      • secretzorro says:

Me too, I just want the Scum to lose to Wirral Primary under 9s in the final, oh happy days!

        • AJW says:

I think Klopp & co. have a better chance at beating Wirral Under 9s, than José and his cohorts of faithful red men have of beating the Old Lady – in fact, not just Real Madrid, but any old lady! My neighbour, old Mrs Wiggins and her 10 buddies from the local Retirement Home first XI, could beat this hopeless, hapless (and apparently unhappy) bunch of Mancunian jokers! Sorry MU supporters – it’s a bit of a low call I know, but if it gets a laugh? smile

        • Kralin says:

SZ has a bit of a ‘love that dare not speak is name’ thing about Liverpool. We all knew it over at FFF but had to humour him and go along with the fantasy that he supports Man U. The clue is in the tiresome stridency and frequency of his comments. He doesn’t realise it but he mentions Liverpool about ten times more than he does Man U.

He was a Man U supporter but the events of 1973/74 put the zap on his brain.
