Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW21

meh
/mɛ/

informal
exclamation: meh

expressing a lack of interest or enthusiasm.

“meh, I’m not impressed so far”

48 points in GW20 and six above the average. ‘Meh’ about covers it.

Our team did secure a green arrow in the overall rankings this week moving up to 1,141,741 from 1,201,188 – 59,447 places. Woo. Hoo.

We know, we know! “It’s a step in the right direction” / “It’s no red at least” / “The correct side of the average”. Etc. etc. But come on this is boring. We want big scores, flashy jumps. In essence, we want to be the hare not the tortoise!

Not looking at it forensically this week – but we had FOUR players with a solitary point in Alex McCarthy, Vlad Coufal, Paddy Bamford and Harry Kane so thank goodness for Gundogan, Antonio, Grealish, Chilwell and Dias for pulling their weight and doing the heavy lifting for the aforementioned rubber ducks.

If only we’d captained Gundogan but can’t honestly say it crossed anyone’s mind…..

Our GW20 Result…

Let’s go see what was decided…

Our GW21 Transfer(s)

Nobody in our number fancies Kane does a Lazarus and starts on Sunday and with not much value to be lost if we need to buy him back, we thought we would dip into the market for a new striker. This one was as quick a transfer decision as has been seen within FF247. Two minutes quick, in fact:

To confirm then we have SOLD HARRY KANE and BOUGHT DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN

Captain – ILKAY GUNDOGAN

With three quickfire votes for the German (and one member temporarily abstaining due to recent personal form), this one too was quickly done and dusted. We like City’s fixture, the midfielder is in scoring form and ‘could/should’ be on penalty-taking duty.

If Pep peps us, then BRUNO FERNANDES will step up as vice captain.

Evening guys, need some thoughts on transfers for this week please. 1ft & 6.2itb. I was thinking of Kane to DCL. Is it also worth doing Riedwald to Maddison or Son for -4? Or hold Kane and do Bamford to DCL?

Will most likely bench Soucek or Bamford this week. Full team below. Cheers

Evening everyone. I have come in need of advice. I have 2 fts and 8.5 itb. I’m not sure if I want to sell Kane just yet in case he only misses a game or two. I bought him at 10.6 so I’d be losing a lot of value.

Therefore I’m considering leaving him on the pitch and if he doesn’t play so be it! Some moved I’m looking at are as follows:

    A. Brewster and Smith Rowe to DCL and Son (exact funds)
    B. Brewster and Dallas to DCL and Digne (4.0 left itb)
    C. Dallas and Smith Rowe to Digne and Son (1.7 left itb, I would be relying on a 451/541 formation)

Basically getting DCL, Digne and Son is impossible unless I sell Kane. Is there anything else I should consider?

Does anyone know how long Kane is out for? I was really hoping to sort my Zouma or Wilson problem this week, but now I’ve got this to think about. I bought for 10.5 so I stand to lose a lot. If I sell tonight and he drops 0.2 then I can reduce this damage to just 0.2. Suck it up and do Kane to DCL? Or Wilson to DCL and bench Kane? Or Zouma to anyone??

Does anyone think the Kane injury is not even that bad and he might even play. I mean if it was serious we would have heard something so could just be ankle bruising. Might be one game and then we will get more info. I mean we don’t really know

Any ideas here? One free transfer and 3.3 in the bank. I’m thinking Digne in for Kilman. I’m not sure if DCL In for Bamford or Kane is worth a hit

Where do you stand on losing value with Kane? Him to DCL was my initial thought. Digne would be a very nice addition though.

      • Smash says:

If I ditch tonight I’d lose 0.1 so it’s not a massive deal. I’m not overly bothered about messing up team structure tbh as will tidy it up with wildcard and when the premiums are back and before big double

I’d get rid of Kilman for sure

I think Kane to DCL is a sound move. I know Jose is about the most unreliable source of information you could possibly want to have (wasn’t he muttering the other night about injuries that turned out to be nothing but)?

But assuming Kane is out then you have Son plus DCL with a nice pair of fixtures.

      • Smash says:

Yeah I like the next two for DCL there could be goals in both. I’m not convinced as you can tell by other posts On the Kane injury.

        • Kralin says:

No I don’t blame you. He’d been getting the points before getting his ankles stomped. It is a pretty tough one. Maybe something will leak out.

Like many I was stung all those years ago by Mourinho’s waffling on about Diego Costa’s ‘injury’ before the Everton game.

You don’t want that sinking feeling of dropping him then seeing the score is 0-3 after 20 minutes.

I don’t know how mental Everton will go if they start sniffing blood against a pretty hopeless Newcastle.

        • Smash says:

Yeah I don’t buy the Jose comments tbh. I don’t think he could possibly know if it’s swollen ankles I’m not sure anyone can. And we know he’s got form for that he Said Son would miss two weeks and he turned up next game scoring two goals. I’m leaning towards selling Kilman and Bamford for Digne and DCL (-4) . Chasing the fixture I might wait till tomorrow though just in case even though it will cost me 0.1 but should have exact cash

        • Kralin says:

I wouldn’t bother with a hit myself. I suppose if going the Bamford to DCL route have a think about who could come in for Kane next week if he is injured.

I’d favour that rather than Digne otherwise you could be lumbered with Bamford and an injured Kane next week. If Kane is all right then DCL will be there and Digne can come in then.
