Remember FPL?
A week is a long time in politics. And in football, well times that by a billion for an FPL gameweek. That’s BEFORE we factor in that it’s an international break. AND we’re off the back of a woeful gameweek with only four fixtures.
We can forgive ourselves for putting FPL to the back of our minds for a bit. However, we are now approaching GW30 and before we discuss that, we must look all the way back to GW29 to see how good/bad/indifferent it was for us.
We scored 39 points and the average was 25. That’s all right we suppose. Although we did have Gareth Bale who didn’t play and no sub to replace him (great!). That might put a bit of positive spin on it we guess. But it was a red arrow regrettably – from 408,682 to 433,614 – and our second red arrow in a row. Eek!
The only winners for us were our captain Harry Kane (14) and a midfield duo of Lingard and Raphinha collectively landing 20 points. Nothing else to write home about.

Our GW30 Transfer(s)
Disagreement?
Looking at our team, at least initially, the argument was rather more who to bench than who to transfer in. And we had settled on that as an argument, not expecting a further argument about transfers. It was argument itself, and needed no further argument, other than the argument that was to follow…
Having settled the argument that there was no argument and that there really was no point in even arguing about the bench order given that there was an argument in favour of all suggestions, and an argument against them all too… until some d*ck mentioned Azpi!
The argument for Azpi was simply that we had too much Man City coverage and that Chelsea had great fixtures coming up. Having ‘too much’ Man City may seem like an oxymoron but with the league more or less won and a big CL tie or two in the offing it is a valid argument.
And to be fair it got little argument.
Which one to cull though? Cancelo is the sexy one to own, Dias much less so. We opted for the duller but more reliable one to stay.
As for the benching issue we had so many different combos we gave up arguing about it!
To confirm then we have SOLD Cancelo and BOUGHT Azpilicueta

Thinking of the following:
A) Cancelo->Azpi/Chilwell/Alonso (Thanks Cookie/Smash/OddDane for the Alonso suggestion)
B) Auba->Son
If I do A I will bench Coufal and play Auba.
If I do B, I will bench Cancelo and play Son.
What is the best option. For those who may not have seen a previous post, I will be WC’ing next week, so this will be a one week punt.

I could also do Cancelo->Azpi for a hit, but not gonna bother. Every point counts from now on and need to start closing gaps. Am sure Son/Kane will get me points. Will need to keep them both in my WC for the dgw32.
Should I take a hit to bring a playing GK and use BB or leave it for sunnier day?
I’d prob leave it as I’m not sure if Bale gets many mins. With Laporte having two weeks off I don’t see Stones playing either

Could I trouble you for some wisdom? With no FH or WC left I am navigating the upcoming DGW and BGWs with FTs.
I have 1FT and 0.2 ITB. Should I…
1) Sit back and roll the FT
2) Copy the site team and do Cancelo to Azpi
3) Some other masterstroke that I can’t see
I just did 2. Was going to wait til next week, but just jumped on it now
Yea, one of Stones or Cancelo are gonna have to go before the BGW, so I’m tempted to just do it now. Coady is appealing as well though – and I could keep Cancelo and lose Stones if I went with him.

Not quite sure what to do here. Still got WC was tempted to do it this week to try and get some players in early ahead of everyone else. Might hold of till next week in which case I have 1ft and 0.7m Itb. Can’t decide what to do with my transfer. Options I’m thinking are Salah to Bruno, maybe Watkins to bamford? tempted with cancelo to azpi. If I’m going to WC next week would it make more sense to bring in someone I wouldn’t have on my wc as I’m using it next week? Also not sure if my lineup is right. Feels strange benching Watkins v Fulham.

First things first, you don’t NEED to wildcard this week.
In that case, and if you think you might do next week, then it is the perfect opportunity to take in a player for a on-week punt. Alonso of Chelsea being very popular in this regard. You could bring him in for a City defender.
You won’t be able to get Bamford as you have your Leeds quota already mate.
Bench Boost isn’t still kicking around is it?
Good point about Leeds. Don’t have bench boost. Alonso is a good shout but I have him in my wildcard draft. I’ve posted what a potential WC could be. Tempted to get in Bruno as not owning is hurting me but would have to sell Salah which I’m kinda thinking is worth giving Salah a chance this week if I’m getting rid on wc
