FF247 FPL Team GW38
Welcome to FF247 FPL Team GW38
We scored 53 points in GW37 which was apparently 10 points better than the overall average and helped us to a small green arrow. Small mercies and all that, but in all honesty we probably needed something more if we are to finish the season with any respectability.
Basically we were indebted to our defence and West Ham for our score – clean sheets from TAA, Dallas and Digne contributed 19 points, whilst Lingard assisting Antonio late on gave us 16 points. Eight points from Captain Bruno was fortunate to say the least given he didn’t even touch the ball! Sadly we left Watkins and his 9 points on the bench. The rest were hopeless and they are lucky there is only one gameweek left.
We enter the final gameweek ranked 221,412. Inside the top 200k would probably now be the alerted season target.
Our GW37 Result…
Let’s go see what was decided…
Our GW38 Transfer(s)
With 2 free transfers in hand we should be feeling good going into the gameweek. However with Solskjaer threatening mass rotation ahead of the Europa final (we have 3 United), Jota injured and Digne and DCL up against City at the Etihad we had some tough choices to make.
We have made three transfers, selling Bruno, Jota and DCL and buying Salah, Raphinha and Bamford. A 4 point hit has been taken but we are happy to roll the dice one more/last time, fully expecting Liverpool and Leeds to see off Palace and West Brom comfortably.
To confirm then we have:
SOLD BRUNO FERNANDES, DIOGO JOTA & DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN and BOUGHT MOHAMED SALAH, RAPHINHA & PATRICK BAMFORD
Captain – MOHAMED SALAH
The obvious, if slightly boring choice but as we know boring is normally effective in FPL. Our vice captain, if required is Patrick Bamford.

VOTE ON THIS WEEK’S CAPTAIN POLL GW38
Morning everyone.
Massive thanks to all the writers for the time/effort spent to write amazing articles, regulars for helping out members make the best decisions and everyone for making this unusual season a bit less depressing.
Hoping to reach my best ever OR (sub 20K) with the last GW left. Any thoughts on this team?
1. Shaw to Robbo?
2. Watkins to Antonio?
3. Mendy to play?
1FT and 2.6ITB
Cheers
iqbal,
Tank you for the thank you
I like the sound of that Shaw to Robertson move.
Well done on that rank, thats awesome.
Who are the must haves? On a FH and rank 10k.
Three Liverpool, three Leeds maybe?
Chris Wood I l also like today.
Okay,, so far picked as below:
? (Mendy / Ederson possibly or, even Pope, but not sure if he starts)
TAA, Dallas, ?
Salah, Mane, Raphinha, ?
Antonio, Wood, ?
Great start.
How about a Chelsea midfielder – Pulisic maybe? Big game for Chelsea today so they need to be at their best.
Yes, that 6-7th spot, I have many contenders like Bamford, Harrison, Kane, Son, Bale, Pulisic, Havertz, Willock, even Ihenacho (must win for LEI)….or may be someone whom none of us think of in a regular week.
Something like this perhaps
Diogo Jota could yet feature in Liverpool’s game against Crystal Palace.
The forward was ruled out for the rest of the season earlier this week by manager Jurgen Klopp. But a further update on Saturday revealed the injury is not as serious as Klopp initially feared.
There is now a chance he could feature in Sunday’s crunch game.
What did Klopp say?
Speaking on Saturday, the German manager said: “I don’t know yet. It all looked good and he will probably train today — that was the plan yesterday.
“And when he can train, we have a look how he trains and then we make a decision if he will be involved.”
What is the nature of the injury?
Jota injured his foot during Liverpool’s win away at Manchester United earlier this month.
He was expected to be out for the rest of the season but Jota’s injury was diagnosed again and it emerged he could yet play.
How important is Sunday’s game?
It is huge. Liverpool have to beat Palace to be guaranteed a place in next season’s Champions League — assuming Leicester do not manage a four-goal swing against Spurs.
They climbed back into the top four in mid-week with a win against Burnley.
A defeat or draw against Palace would give Leicester the chance to overtake them if they manage to beat Tottenham Hotspur.

Hiya,
Who would you pick it one only Raph or Harrison?
Do we think Pereira will play?
Cheers,
CC
Pereira is unlikely to play. I’d slightly favour Raphinha
Thanks.
I accidentally approved a bunch of ridiculous transfers – presumably there’s now ay of undoing it right? (dropped the phone and it approved)
I don’t think you can reverse. Sorry for you
Yeah, it’s one of those questions you really know the answer to before blurting it out. Oh well. ‘tis but a game
Good luck
May be its a blessing in disguise…..just enjoy the final day irrespective of whosoever is on your pitch.
It’s -20pts, so yeah – completely free of any concerns as to whether I’ll do well 😉
How bad is the damage?
To the phone obvs
The phone is okay, thanks… You cheeky devil
Ah, what a way to end this season. Somewhat fitting after all
Can’t wait to put a fork in this season Dane.
I’m strangely happy. Think it is because I know the pain is almost over.
Totally agree GP.
I’ve mentally moved on to the euro’s, plenty of mishaps to be made there as well!
I don’t even know if I’ll do the Euros but Init will probably threaten me with legal action if I don’t stick a team in!
Hi all. Think I’m all set. Having trouble deciding on Zaha (vs Liverpool) or Trossard (vs Arsenal and who scored vs City last GW)? Any thoughts appreciated
I see Liverpool having almost all of the ball and Brighton at least setting up to play quickly once they get it so if it were me, I’d fall on the Trossard side.
Thanks GP. Good luck today! Your Jota post above has put me on edge about bringing Firmino in this week lol
Oh I don’t think he’ll start (Jota I mean).
I’d have no issues about Firmino starting the match.
Cool, saved me 6 hours of being annoyed at myself
