We scored 53 points in GW37 which was apparently 10 points better than the overall average and helped us to a small green arrow. Small mercies and all that, but in all honesty we probably needed something more if we are to finish the season with any respectability.
Basically we were indebted to our defence and West Ham for our score – clean sheets from TAA, Dallas and Digne contributed 19 points, whilst Lingard assisting Antonio late on gave us 16 points. Eight points from Captain Bruno was fortunate to say the least given he didn’t even touch the ball! Sadly we left Watkins and his 9 points on the bench. The rest were hopeless and they are lucky there is only one gameweek left.
We enter the final gameweek ranked 221,412. Inside the top 200k would probably now be the alerted season target.

Our GW38 Transfer(s)
With 2 free transfers in hand we should be feeling good going into the gameweek. However with Solskjaer threatening mass rotation ahead of the Europa final (we have 3 United), Jota injured and Digne and DCL up against City at the Etihad we had some tough choices to make.
We have made three transfers, selling Bruno, Jota and DCL and buying Salah, Raphinha and Bamford. A 4 point hit has been taken but we are happy to roll the dice one more/last time, fully expecting Liverpool and Leeds to see off Palace and West Brom comfortably.
To confirm then we have:
SOLD BRUNO FERNANDES, DIOGO JOTA & DOMINIC CALVERT-LEWIN and BOUGHT MOHAMED SALAH, RAPHINHA & PATRICK BAMFORD
Captain – MOHAMED SALAH
The obvious, if slightly boring choice but as we know boring is normally effective in FPL. Our vice captain, if required is Patrick Bamford.

For your sake I hope so, for the game’s sake I hope not. I think it spoils the game persoanally.
45 points is good – that should be won. You need to take a look at the opponent (+3) has who could hurt you and who you have (if captained) could hurt him. 3 points behind is virtually a straight race. Very winnable.

In a way safer, because if Villa score, at least you have Watkins who is the most likely to score.

Trailing by 40 points in my ML, so I realistically, I know I need a miracle (and might still not be enough).
1 FT & 2 M ITB. I am thinking of:
1) Bruno to Mane (bench Greenwood or Nacho)
2) Shaw to Robbo (no idea who to bench in this scenario)
3) Bruno & Nacho to Mane & Bamford/Rodrigo (-4)
4) Bruno & Shaw to Mane & Alioski (rival owns Dallas as you can see below) (-4)
5) Shaw & Bruno to Robbo & City cover if there are some leaks (and if I have the nerve to wait for them) (-4)

I don’t think 40 points is going to be made up by a defender and I wouldn’t give away another 4.
Bruno to Mane, give him the armband and look to the heavens that Mane has his game of the season in the last one!

Thanks guys, GP & LRL! Idk if that’s aggressive enough though. I see lots of goals for Leeds and Pool but the question is where are they coming from?!
Can’t help you there but if you are OK with it then take the -4 and go for option 3.
What do you think he will do? Prob Bamford I would think or has he the money for Bruno to Mane ? Is Bruno even more than Mane (cant remember).
There is no point you going Leeds defender, thats more a blocking tactic.
Something like Firmino and captain him? Personally I would do 2 transfers – A Robertson has the potential for big today – and you need a few things to go for you to have any chance
Cheers, TheDreamers! Alioski scored against WBA in the reverse fixture, so I was thinking about his attacking potential more than anything. I could do Bruno & Greenwood to Mane and Harrison but then who to bench?!

Likely to leave my transfers till the final 15 mins in case of leaks but thought I’d get some more additional opinions under my belt.
36 point ML lead (46 points over 3rd), 1FT, £0.2m in the bank.
Without considering my rivals transfers:
a) Fernandes to Son, simple cover providing he doesn’t ship out Son
b) As above with Bissouma to Willock (-4) for additional cover, bench Greenwood as he’s 50/50 to start in my book
If I was my rival, I’d probably do Meslier/Son to Casilla/Mane (c), but he’s a Spurs fan, had Son since GW5, so not sure how likely that is. Brings up option C though, Mane is the scariest player this week:
c) Fernandes & Greenwood to Mane & Willock (-4), covers Mane if my rival does bring in and captain him

Doesn’t sound as though he will be selling Son so if I were you I would do the Bruno to Son move.
Have a look at who you think he will captain too – Kane maybe – and cover him that way too.
You should win this.
I know I should, but the memories of dropping from 1st to 3rd on the final day of 2017/18 with a 40 point swing still haunt me. Granted, my team is in a much better state this season.
Kane (c) has been on my mind, but bookies odds are so heavily in Salah’s favour it seems unecessary. Think that will be a last minute in the the moment decision.

If you’re not distracted by ML and only going for OR:
a) DCL to Bamford seems a no brainer
b) If you can find a player to replace Greenwood with, i’d probably do that. Otherwise, Pickford to Alisson seems to make sense.
c) Alternatively, DCL & Greenwood to Wood & Raphina.
