FF247 Site Team Game-week 7 FPL Tips

Welcome to the FF247 Site Team Game-week 7 FPL Tips article. Can we wildcard every week? Playing our wildcard last week certainly had the desired short-term effect, hopefully it also pays dividends over the coming game-weeks! We picked up 67pts which was 22pts above the average and this saw us jump back up from a rank of 262,127 to 91,692. The standout performers were undoubtedly Sergio Aguero, whom we had captained, and Alexis Sanchez. Elsewhere we had contributions from Petr Cech, Raheem Sterling and Marcus Rashford. Having brought Etienne Capoue in on our wildcard and more significantly as our 4th midfielder he blanked for just the 2nd time this season. We were not impressed. Yet again we were trolled by Romelu Lukaku. The Belgian had picked up 29pts over the previous two game-weeks but just like Capoue he picked up a whopping 2pts. Our defence let us down but between them they have some decent fixtures over the coming weeks so we should see some returns. Hopefully! On the whole we are happy with how things panned out and we move on with great expectations.

Just a bit of housekeeping before we continue. We know many people log in to check on Cookie’s team news article on a Friday. You may need to check this out! Around the Grounds GW7 update – Twins Special! We will be posting updates from the press conferences on the comments section in that one throughout the day.

TRANSFER DECISION THIS WEEK
Having just played our wildcard we have perhaps unsurprisingly decided not to make a transfer this week. The only potential transfer we discussed was the possibility of bringing in an Arsenal defender and doubling up ahead of a run of four enticing fixtures. However we were £0.1 short of bringing in either Nacho Monreal or Shkodran Mustafi for Kyle Walker. To be honest not being in a position to make the transfer may turn out to be a bonus as after all Spurs do have the league’s best defence. By not making a transfer this week we will now be in a position where we have 2 FT’s following the international break which is always advantageous.

THE TEAM IN FULL FOR GW7 –

[divider_1px_dashed]

Our captain is Alexis Sanchez and our vice-captain is Sergio Aguero
With three votes Alexis Sanchez was the democratic choice this week. There was a vote for Lukaku but there are suspicions that someone was just trying to be difficult! There was also a ‘late’ vote for Rashford. Given not only his own personal form but also Arsenal’s recent form too it was difficult to look past the Chilean this week. Leading the line with great aplomb and with the likes of Walcott, Ozil & Iwobi all coming into form we see him having plenty of opportunities on Sunday afternoon. It might surprise some of you to hear that a certain Sergio Aguero did not get a single vote this week but it was perhaps felt that as he faces the league’s best defence that this may be the week to overlook him for the armband. This decision could of course leave us with egg on our faces!

I have similar suitation like you but please explain to me the benefit of keeping baines injured with possibility to drop price and after the break they will play city
I thought you might bring another defender to save funds for future transfers

Hi mahelmy, it probably would have made sense for this week and perhaps we’d have then benched Walker. I think we just took a long term view on it and decided we were happy to keep him and Walker and weighed up who we could have brought in and nobody really jumped out as someone we would want instead over the piece. If we could have afforded an Arsenal one for example then that would have happened but bringing in a cheaper one weeker would have weakened the squad options overall. Plus having the 2 FT’s over the break is a good position to be in. Not saying you follow suit, you do what you need to based upon your team for this week. How’s it looking for you?

      • mahelmy says:

        Making sense for you
For me i have ibra aguero lukaku sterling walker so i need funds to get snachez on antonio later on
So who you recommend cheap i defense
        (Walker baines holebas mculey amat)

        • inittowinit says:

There’s quite a difference in price between Sanchez and Antonio so I’m not sure selling Baines helps that situation much? That’s unless you have a healthy bank already and need just a million or something?

I have the same front 3 in my own and no Sanchez. I plan to sell Ibra next week in order to afford Sanchez. Seems to make sense relative to the fixtures of both.

My plan with -4pts + 0.7itb. Please help me! Many Thanks smile
    1. Holding + Shaw to Holebas + Koscielny.
    2. Holding + Barkley to Holebas + Antonio
    3. Holding + Negredo to Holebas + Defoe
    4. Holding + Negredo to Holebas + Austin

    Cech, Jaku
    Holding, Walker, Shaw, Lowton, Armat
    Barkley, Ozil, Firminho, Capoue, Hazard
    Costa, Lukaku, Negredo

      inittowinit says:

wazza I think 1 or 3. Hits for defenders are risky but Holebas and Kos both have a decent shout for a CS this week and you’ll be glad to have Kos with their fixtures ahead. I say 3 as well just because I fancy Defoe to have a nice little run of goals and their fixtures certainly suggest he should.

Great article and well done on the wildcard performance

I too will hold my transfer this week but would like some assistance on whether to play Walker over McAuley and who to captain

    • 6.1
      inittowinit says:

I think both are likely to concede but I’d say City have a higher % chance of scoring, if that makes sense, in which case I’d play McCauley.

As for capo I think I’d keep it where you have it.

      • daboyo2 says:

        Cheers init

I always like having the captain yet to play towards the last game or two of the GW so I think ill hold on Sanchez.

As for McAuley – I think Spurs and City will both score also, I was weighing up the chances of Walker getting an assist vs McAuley getting a clean sheet away to Sunderland and I suppose the odds are better for McAuley given the poor form of Sunderland
