Boom!

Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW3

A lazy Boom! As it turns out. When questioned why he’d made no changes in terms of transfers, line-up or captain, last weeks writer who wishes to remain anonymous (let’s call him Rosco…), admitted he was just being lazy. Let’s also just call him humble then, for fairness.

Given Haaland’s Friday endeavours, the Bruno (C) was carrying a certain weight of pressure. We all know the rest.

111 was comfortably 30 above the average, and pumped us up 1.7m places to about 525k overall. Or 5% as it is now reported, up from 25%.

And that was with 19 points left on the bench. After using the BB last week to the tune of just 10.

Our Gameweek 2 Result

GW2

We have 0.0m in the bank and 2 free transfers to use ahead of GW3. Let’s go see what was decided….

Our GW3 Transfer(s)

To be lazy again and roll, buy a Toon defender or go all in on City vs Coventry. Those were the three choices we arrived at. And although Mbeumo eventually came up trumps last week, we couldn’t resist Cherki vs newly promoted Coventry, especially after he tore Palace a new one last week, and genuinely looked like a world beater on a different level.

To confirm then we have SOLD Mbeumo and BOUGHT Cherki

Captain – Haaland

TRIPLE CAPTAIN ACTIVATED

Yep. Gulp. We are certainly going aggressive this season, after using BB in GW1. Let’s hope this one goes a touch better.

PREDICTED LINE-UPS

Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE

  1. Is Cherki in for Tzolis the right move this gameweek ?

    • I think a City def for Maguire would be better, Cherki is a minutes risk and with all the new mids City have it is a difficult one, I think Foden is the most nailed as Maresca has said, Haaland, Foden and Gvardiol are the three pillars of the team, he isn’t really going to go back on his word two games in.

Tzolis had a bad week last week.

  2. Thoughts on this lineup folks?

    • Really good team, ODT. Was your first sub decision an easy one? Cherki (minutes/rotation); Tzolis (poor GW2); Joao Pedro (facing Arsenal defence).

      • That is a tough choice.

      • No it wasn’t an easy decision. I’m still not 100 percent sure I’ll stick with this. I’m kinda at this idea of all in on Arsenal v Chelsea. It’s probably going to be a goalfest or boring nil nil. Hopefully either way will benefit me.

        • The issue is Groß v DCL, Brighton are good at home, but DCL takes pens and the most likely to score for Leeds, Brighton need to keep a CS for Grob to pay off.

I am not sure on Tzolis, last weeks game was a weird one and I think he was subbed so he didn’t end up getting sent off, he’s going to be a regular player as there isn’t much rotation risk without changing the formation of the Arsenal team, Chelsea are pretty poor at the back so who is going to get more points between Groß, DLC and Tzolis is the question, who is more likely to score a goal or get an assist.

        • I’m not sold on it, just tinkering and may or may not stick. Probably sleep on it and decide during coffee in the morning.

  3. FH this GW.

    • This for the WSL.

    • Well, why not, especially with those nice diagonals? Quite a punt with the three Brentford players – but bravo if it works. I wonder if Barcola is going to be in from the get-go, or introduced for a cameo appearance in the second half… Who really knows?

      • Sorry – this was meant to be a reply to Terminators FH team

  4. Ftx2
    Itb-0.5m
GTG or should I make any changes.
    Thinking whether TC on Haaland

    • I think TC Haaland.

I would suggest Anderson > Foden sideways move but Anderson doesn’t seem to be getting any defcon and isn’t forward as much now as City, but he’s dropped in price, my concern is Van Hecke v N.Williams, I think Forest will score due to Spurs being a shambles at the back, I think you should just roll the transfers and decide if you are going to keep BrunoF and/or Mbuemo then you can use the 3FT’s and spend the money, so just TC Haaland as many others are doing.

      • +1 on the TC Haaland. You almost have to or owning him hurts your rank.

      • Mixed answers there Terminators lol.

I think maybe roll but go tc on Haaland.

        Give Anderson one more week.
Thinking maybe Mbuemo out for Elanga and maybe Anderson to Cherki or Golden in gw4

        • I agree it is mixed, your team is pretty template so difficult to to suggest changes, you have pretty much the main players, Haaland, Pedro and BrunoF.

With the final transfers it is difficult to know a few clubs starting eleven and who will play good minutes, you do need to look at who do you drop out of BrunoF or Mbuemo because one of them has to go now Utd’s fixtures are swinging, prices are also changing much faster because they now show progress on the fpl site so all the casuals jump on bandwagons chasing last GW’s points so it’s very easy to get priced out now.

I just think people are unsure on the players to get due to the uncertainty of players starting and their subsequent minutes.

        • Terminators – I know potentially Lammens, mbuemo, Van Hecke and Anderson are ones I will be looking to shift over the coming weeks

Firstly it would be mbuemo and Anderson I think

  5. How’s this looking? 0.1 itb and no transfers after bringing in cherki and de cuyper to fund him.
Rodon needs moving on but couldn’t find a decent replacement.

    • Not worth a hit for Rodon, maybe next GW sell for a £4m that is going up in price or see if there is a £4.5m that has done well the last three GW’s, worth keeping an eye on in case Roden drops in price.

    • T is right. No need to waste a FT for a defender at this stage. Leave it for later when can be done in a combo when you have more transfers to paly with.

      • Thanks both. Will leave him for now. Is this set right?

        • Maybe I’ve missed something but isn’t it better to wait for double game weeks for TC? Or are we getting 2 TC chips this season

        • Yes, this is the first TC chip and you get a second one on 2nd of January. It’s unlikely to get any double gameweeks in the first half of the seson, unless something drastic happens, like bad weather…..

        • In that case that makes sense why everyone is going for it! Cheers Ivan

        • Looks good to go, maybe TC Haaland.

  6. Wondering whether it’s worth WC to this? The outgoings would be:

Kinsky to Steele (frees up 0.5)
    Van Hecke to Gvardiol
    Szoboszlai to Rogers
Groß to Slater (Groß would have been bench anyway so saving 1m)
Tzolis to Gakpo (not sure on this one with Barcola arrival)
    DCL to Wissa

    • Looks good, Brighton double main def and gk is a risk, with Cherki people are now worrying about his minutes, other than that it is a good wc team and i cannot really fault it.
