Welcome to FF247 Site Team GW9
Gameweek 8 was a painful one for many, and we very much include ourselves among them. Konsa grabbed a goal, clean sheet and 2 bonus, while Haaland also found the net and picked up 2 bonus – giving us 16pts with the armband.
Other than that, it was a real sh!tstorm.
Le Fée was our next highest scorer with 3pts, leaving our remaining eight players to muster just 6pts between them. We’ve had better weeks.
It’s not often a Gameweek is quite this bad across the board. We had three players finish on 1pt, which on reflection looks like a perfectly respectable score compared to the two who managed absolutely nothing (Cherki and Groß). Not to be outdone, Palmer went one better, getting himself sent off and leaving his owners with -1pt for good measure.
We couldn’t even pick the right keeper. As is so often the case when you rotate, Kinsky’s 9pts will remain forever locked to our bench. When it rains, it pours.
In the end it was a red arrow that saw us drop from 497,993 down to 729,257 – Normal service resumed then!
Our Gameweek 8 Result

We have £1.4 in the bank and 2 free transfer to use ahead of GWXX. Let’s go see what was decided….
Our GW9 Transfer(s)
2 free transfers. £1.4m in the bank.
Our team is looking a little rough around the edges this week. However, we’re still holding off on the Wildcard and will instead use both our free transfers to try and plug a few holes.
We put it to the usual vote and decided that João Pedro and Maguire would be heading for the exit. JP is, of course, now red-flagged after missing GW8, and while Maguire is fighting fit, he’s managed just 16pts across the opening eight Gameweeks, during which Man Utd are yet to keep a clean sheet. Hardly making himself indispensable.
Coming in is Nicolas Jackson. Following his 13pt haul at the weekend, he’s the most transferred-in player this week, with almost a million new owners at the time of writing. As is so often the curse for the week’s most popular transfer, 2pts in GW9 is now pretty much nailed on.
At the back, we’re going for António Silva. Bournemouth have a favourable run of fixtures stretching all the way through to January (excluding their trip to the Emirates in GW15). The Cherries have just picked up two clean sheets, and there’s every reason to think they’ll add to that tally in the coming months.
We could just as easily have gone for his centre-back partner James Hill, but Silva comes in £0.5m cheaper and has performed slightly better for DEFCON, picking up the additional 2pts in six of his eight games this season.
To confirm then we have SOLD João Pedro + Maguire and BOUGHT Jackson + Silva
Captain – Haaland

PREDICTED LINE-UPS

Back by popular demand! Well, sort of… Drafthound have changed their line-up approach this season and what it means for us is that we are no longer able to display a live feed of it on here due to some technical difficulties. That said, what they have done looks great and is still only a click away so if you want to access those they are HERE
