Fixture Tracker – Fantasy Premier League 2014-15
We’ve all seen a few different ways of viewing upcoming fixtures, and the one that has become increasingly popular over the last couple of years is the colour-coded one. With this, you can instantly see each team’s approaching fixtures with an accompanying colour that corresponds to the difficulty of each match. This is very useful for both identifying teams that are potentially about to have a great run due to a kind set of fixtures, and also identifying weaker teams that can rotate well, i.e. when one team has a bad fixture the other will have a decent one, so you swap between the two players. For more info on rotation, check out Mito’s somewhat exceptional article on it 😉 Rotation Analysis Home and Away and Favourable fixtures
Many of these colour-coded tickers only show a few weeks in advance, which is very helpful for short-term plans, but not if you’re planning transfers for the long-term. It is understandable that these tickers are short-term, as teams’ form tends to fluctuate as the season progresses, so if you made a season-long ticker now, it may well not be a good reflection of how difficult a match is come Christmas or Easter. Who knows, maybe Villa will get off to a blinder and win 10 out of 15 (hahaha!), in which case a game against them would no longer be considered easy. Also, sometimes we may even disagree with the colour a certain match has been assigned by the fantasy football gurus that make the tickers! The ticker I have made is designed with both of these points in mind, and can be updated throughout the season as and when you see fit.
Customisable Tracker
Some of you may already have seen my earlier prototype after I posted it on the boards last week (much to init’s dismay :p ) – I have since added all 38 GWs to the tracker, modified the colours used and added a new custom search for individual teams, so even if you had the original please do use this updated version instead.
And it works like this: I have split up all 20 teams into four groups of similar ability, and then given every possible combination (of which there are 32) a difficulty rating of between A and E (5 difficulties as opposed to 3 for greater accuracy). Both of these factors are the variables that you can change, and doing so will automatically update the colours in your fixtures tab. Simply click on the ‘Variables’ tab as shown in fig.1, change any of the values in the cyan-coloured columns shown in fig. 2, and you will be able to view your very own customised 38 GW fixture tracker as shown in the main image above. This is all explained in more detail in the ‘How It Works’ tab. Finally, I have made a ‘Compare Fixtures’ tab as well – this allows you to select only the teams you wish in order to see just how well they compare and/or rotate, without having the distraction of all 20 teams’ colours present. If you wish to use this tool then select the ‘Compare Fixtures’ tab and then click on the ‘Add Team’ drop-down menu as shown in fig. 3 and choose the team you want. You can do this with as many or as few teams as you wish. Though it seems rather simple, I found this last feature very tricky and would not have been able to make it work as well as it does without the help of Dreamers, so a huge thanks to him!
I have made the link read-only, so as to preserve the template in its original format for everyone in case the formulas stop working. Just save your own version of the file, and you will be able to customise it entirely as you see fit. Please bear in mind that this was made with Google Sheets and is intended to be used in that format so it can be saved in favourites for easy access; if you download it with Excel then the margins and borders will probably be off so will need adjusting. I am always open to suggestions for ways to improve it, so feel free to send me a message or post a comment below to that effect if you have any ideas. And finally, I have double- and triple-checked the fixtures, but there are a lot of them and after a point they all tend to blur together, so if you spot any mistakes please let me know as soon as possible!
Click the link below for the file. Hope it helps a few of you, happy customising.

Latest team:
Foster Krul
Jones Taylor Coloccini Vlaar Wisdom
Hazard Mata Ramsey Sigurdsson Albrighton
Costa Adebayor Rooney
Is it worth changing Ramsey to Eriksen and upgrading a defender? (e.g. Davies,Clyne)
And Albrighton or Wanyama? Reality is they will barely play for me.
Strong team you got there. You already have Ade so perhaps don’t double on Spurs for now. Lamela might be the new thing for Spurs this year. Depends where Eriksen will play under the new system.
As for your 4,5 midfielder if they don’t play might as well go for who ever has the best hairstyle. haha
Wanyama,sigurdsson and sturridge
Or
silva,lamela and bent
A, for me.
Can I have some comments on my latest team draft? Unsure about Luis game time and whether it should be Ramsey or Fabregas (champions league fixtures for arsenal). Any other comments?
One of the best teams ive seen, great balance. Not convinced on Pieters though at 5.0, Bardsley would be my choice from Stoke at 5.0.
Im a Toffee and I dont think Barkely is worth the 7.0 right now, we have had a torrid pre season, 3 losses 2 draws and hes been very very quiet. Maybe in a few games though. You will certainly make profit keeping him though as he features in many teams.
Hope this helps.
Thanks ripsaw. Tbh was not sure who to take from stoke but wanted the Stoke/ Swansea rotation will def. consider Bardsley. Not 100% sure on how price changes go at start of season, if high ownership & if they don’t perform isn’t the risk higher for their price to go down? I did briefly consider Barton to free up an extra 2mil for funds else where.
Im a 343 guy and my choice for cheap 5th MID is Davis of Soton at just 5.0, will nick a few goals this year, cant go wrong between him and W.Prowse and both been playing frequently pre season. I wouldnt bother with Barton personally bro. Im not to clear myself about the high ownership/profit/loss thing, Ive kept Wisdom in for that very reason though so I hope the high ownership equalling profit notion is correct.
You think Southampton ok to go with. With the mass exit of player I was concerned about general morale etc as it will be a very different team from last year. You think they have it together for the new season?
have a look at their first 12 fixtures…
Hazard point taken
Mariappa might not be a regular starter for Palace now, I’d possibly be looking at an alternative to him, GP’s updated the preseason friendly games if you’d like a look at that

Luis looks favorite to start for Chelsea but that would mean that one of their back four from last season won’t make it into the team which would be a big call from Jose, you could downgrade Krul -> 4.0m keeper and use that extra .5 to turn Luis into a JT just to be on the safe side as I doubt you’d be looking at rotating De Gea but that would mean only one playing keeper.
Thanks Andy. I will have to keep an eye on mariappa maybe need to find 0.5m to upgrade to ward. I would prefer 2 playing keepers so would need to find funds elsewhere.
That’s a fine team Seren, only RMT I remember seeing that has DDG with Krul like me I think Ramsey is far more preferable to Fab as I expect the latter to play in a deeper role, whereas the former will hopefully still be full of confidence and hit the ground running. I’d not expect the CL qualifying to affect his league game-time; if anything he is more likely to be rested for that an brought on later if needed (might be better to have a Gunner confirm or dispute that though).
I also have Luis and am a bit concerned, but I don’t think a single Chelsea defender is safe so am going with him for now unless I see a good reason otherwise.
Interesting to see Barkley, high ownership I believe, but not on here. Could downgrade him to a 5th mid to upgrade your defence, but am guessing you already plan to switch between Siggy and Bojan, in which case that would do you no favours.
Keep an eye on Mariappa, I hear he’s the latest doubt to start.
Thanks Calvin. I did have dzeko/albrighton and recently changed to bojan/ Barkley. May look at changing Barkley not 100% sure of him. Ripsaw gave me a few options above. …….. Have to go & do some more research
RMT please, those 3 changes, before i had silva/ albrighton and duff.
looks good. even though i would personally have mata and Silva over hazard and eriksen. but that’s upto you.
thanks jasp, changed it completely now, will post new team.
