Welcome to FPL 2026/27 Rate My Team

Hello everyone and welcome to any new joiners for the coming season. We hope you’ve all enjoyed the summer time and some well deserved time off, or well, some time off either way!

A new season is dawning and already just shy of two weeks from now we’ll see Arsenal kick off the season against newly promoted Coventry City on Fri. 21st of August at the Emirates stadium. ‘The battle of set-pieces’ as one could call it; Coventry is probably the only team who have matched the Gunners on net goal difference from set pieces. Alas, that was not in the big boys’ league.

Before then there’s the community shield on Sun 16th where Gunners are facing Manchester City, the highlight of which will likely be their respective starting line-ups (including whether you-know-who might start or follow from a live-stream on a yacht somewhere).

Anyhow. We’ve had to remind ourselves that we are now at the helm of the 2026/27 season. Seasons come and go as they say. As it happens, so do managers. There’s wholesome 9 new EPL managers (11 if we include Carrick and Se Zerbi) and just five of them were in place at the start of the 2024/25 season. And that’s a pain in the… Ahem. That’s not making the expected lineups nor picking a starting team any easier, is what we were saying…
When it comes to our beloved FPL game there’s been a few changes to the game and player positions, we recommend you give it a quick read here. The biggest change is probably that they have added their own price predictor. However, the good news is they’re keeping the chips as they were – one less thing to think about!
The bad news is that the bench boost is then very much still a thing. Oh well. On that note, some seem to be going BB1 (Bloody Bugger off #1) and others seem quite keen on BB2 (Bloody bugger off again!); each with their elaborate reasoning, which, in short, can be summarized as ‘at least I’ve then used that bloody bugger of a chip’.

 

We aim to keep going, and keep going we shall. We suggest you all get started in the comments with helpful observations, recommendations and sharing your teams (or asking for help on your drafts of course). In the meantime we will work on preparing the site team and the season to come.

The new season has also brought a tremendous amount of new signings, including some known characters such as Tonali (5.5 to Spurs), Rogers (7.5 to Chels), Bruno G. (7.0 to Arsenal) and Senesi (6.0 to Spurs); as well as some new players to the EPL such as C. Tzolis (6.5 mid to Arsenal), M. Sangare (5.5 mid to Bees) and Florentino (5.0 mid to Ipswich) to name a few. Unfortunately we’re running out of both space and time and so, if we can find the time, we will try and put some words to the new signings on another day.

    • Looks good, I don’t see the value in Raya though with Calafiori, I would get Lammens and then upgrade Shaw myself.

  2. idk about all this defcon, it’s ruined fpl, it should be about goals! So what about just going all out attack?

    • Yes indeed! Look at those strikers! If they all blow up in GW 1, you may be left wondering, but you certainly have some firepower! 😉

  4. Thinking starting withot Bruno ang get him on WC for either GW 4 or 6.
    What is better for BB1

    A. Bruno, Gross & DCL
    B. Chuna, Rogers & Thiago

    • What is the rest of your team? I mean if you have Pedro you can go without Rogers.

  5. I think this is the team I will go with, BB GW1.
    If I can switch Slater to a better £4.5m though, idk if there are any though?
    Who is safer/better between Mosquera and Calafiori, I know the latter is more attacking.

    • Is it a planned BB1 strategy or more lets get rid of strategy?
      I am more on get rid of it strategy. Last season, I scored only 8 points on BB before WC in Gw6. This season, I just want to get rid of it asap.
      I like the midfield – but my team is almost similar except I have Szobo (instead of Wirtz), Gross (instead of Tzolis). That helped me to get Sangare (instead of Slater) and Neco WIlliams (instead of O’Nien). The rest 11 are same. I guess my team is more template.

      • As planned as can be, I wouldn’t have two playing GK’s usually and it is also to get it out of the way, I am trying to find a better £4.5m mid to play, but I plan to BB GW1 and then FH GW3 and WC after the international break or hold all my FTs until then.

        I have been getting worse as the years have been going and I really tried last season and yet it was one of my worst, so I am trying to really plan ahead this time after I was able to cut my transfers down last season with being able to build them up.

        So I want a team of players from the top teams as my main eleven, I would prefer Lemmans as GK really and I have toyed with dropping BrunoF or Haaland for Isak, but other than that this is pretty much what my team would be if I wasn’t going to BB.

    • You could consider Muharemovic to Rodon and switch Slater to Gomez
