Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23

Another gameweek on top of the previous one. This one gets us going with a lunch-time battle of the only two teams that start with the letter A when Aston Villa face off vs Arsenal and that of course is followed by a meeting of the only two teams that start with the letter B in Burnley vs Brighton. Along with that game we have Toon taking on Saints so our alphabet game is already ruined. Fulham and Hammers gets the 5:30 spot and the day is brought to a close by what should be an entertaining affair when United play host to Everton.

Sunday brings us four more fixtures. The early game sees Spurs throttle West Brom, that is followed by a battle of Wolves vs Foxes. The third game of the day is a title decider-ish? Probably not, but it should still be a good one when Liverpool and City renew acquaintances. The day is finished off with Sheffield Utd taking on Chelsea.

The gameweek is brought to an end by the ever entertaining Leeds when they play host to Crystal Palace.

The games in full…

For those lucky few with WC, BB, FH & TC still in hand, is there any other strategy worth considering than WC25, BB26, FH29 and TC some other double?

      Smash says:

Yeah that’s what I’m looking at. Not sure I see another way. Though I am worried about TC chip but think Spurs are due another double

      • banjomaker says:

I stole the idea from your previous post if I’m honest :good: with no other mega DGWs it’s seem logical to me. And Spurs could well have a nice double in 27 or 28.

If this is the case then we can do this weeks transfers with zero concern for the future, which is kinda nice two. Especially as I have 2!

        • Smash says:

Yeah might as well dead end it. I’ve bed. Gradually messing my team up kind of knowing it might happen but even now it looks ok and not sure how many changes I’d make but it seems to make sense to play it that way

        • Kralin says:

Yes that’s what I’m going to do (probably) use the 2FTs to arm up for next week then WC straight after. However before WC straight after will assess what I’ve got in relation to the (slightly amorphous) DGW 26.

        • Smash says:

Though I’m also tempted to bench boost this week. Then wildcard with the triple Leeds. I’m a bit concerned being stuck with two expensive keepers on a bench boost in 26

        • Kralin says:

I can’t quite engage with 26 yet simply because we don’t know how it’s going to pan out – even though I know we can make educated guesses. I’m sure however a cheapo keeper will present himself, unless all the permutations suggest otherwise?

I may deal with the Leeds DGW by possibly taking a -4 before the big DGW to clear a couple of them out, if need be. Or not clear them out and not be too hung up on every BB position having a DGW. Traditionally the GW after wildcarding before a big DGW is always a tricky one so loading up with Leeds may help navigate that better.

Considering using free transfers and a couple of hits to load up for gw26 to bb and using wc after bgw29 to set my team up for the rest of the season.

      • Kralin says:

Sounds good. I like the idea of playing it late, so for some reason I’m doing the opposite – may have to bend the machinery a bit to get things working after the BGW. If possible will try to avoid using the FH in 29 but 29 seems a bit abstract at the moment.

Not sure if I’ve missed something, but what’s happening in gwk 26
Keep hearing big dgwk talk but can’t see anything on the sites tracker?

Wow that was quick. 1-0 by Harrison, Dallas assist.

Dallas. A gift that keeps giving. :good2:

    McButcher says:

Nobody considering TC on Gundogen this coming DGW? He performed well against Liverpool, and shouldn’t we expect that against Spurs and Everton? May he be rested at all?

    • 119.1
      constantine says:

Not sure on that. Spurs are strong at defence and there could be some rotation.

    • 119.2
      Smash says:

I think he’s one of the few that will play both. They don’t really have an alternative for what Gundogan brings to the team. Ederson, Dias, Gundogan and KDB (when fit) anyone else can be rotated. Anyone that plays in the cup is who I’d be concerned about playing both league games

      Kralin says:

Captain yes but keeping the TC up my sleeve until later. A DGW later in the season, perhaps.

      OddDane says:

I can’t decide on a proper TC choice, I’ll probably end up using it gw36 when I realise I’ve run out of games to procrastinate that decision to!

      • Kralin says:

It’s a chip I waste on an annual basis. I always hold on and then throw it away. Either that or play it on a whim, for example:

I had a fanciful notion after the 7-2 that I’d put it on Salah for the return match. But that will probably end up 1-8 or something utterly grotesque. May try to be sensible and deploy it in a DGW, should any happen after 26.

      McButcher says:

Hahaha thanks all. I think I’ll do it, it just seems like the opportunity is there. Who knows what future DGW will hold players injured or games called off…. Might take a punt

    Bamford goal… Good FT. :biggun:
