Welcome back to FPL and if you are one of these shut-down-completely types who has spent the time between the end of Gameweek 3 and this deadline up a mountain with no internet or civilisation, you haven’t missed an awful lot (pffft)! Just tell me you made your transfers or pressed the confirm button correctly? No? You could be in for a rough one then.
Anyway, the fixtures themselves have us off to the capital this lunchtime for a South meets North affair as Palace host Spurs at Selhurst Park.
At 3pm – in a continuing glorious and welcome return of normality – we have count ’em SIX matches on offer. Those who have the luxury of watching matches at this time, we guess you may have your eyes fully on Old Trafford as the world watches how Newcastle will line up without Callum Wilson. United v United, Red v Black and White.
Arsenal and Norwich square off in what already looks like a six-pointer (jokes) and there are matches at Southampton, as they welcome West Ham United, and Watford who host Wolves. Meanwhile two Cities collide at the KP where Leicester and Manchester renew rivalries with the Foxes sharing the most recent fortune in their meetings.
Lastly, it is ironic how two teams who play football on the ground sounds like the airborne battle of the weekend as the Bees play the Seagulls. Brentford v Brighton is also a phonetic dream.
At dinner time (winks), Chelsea and Rom go after the (Argentine-free) Villains.
Sunday has us waiting until 4.30pm before we can enjoy Leeds v Liverpool (Mark Viduka springs to mind) and until then, I don’t know – talk to your family or something I guess.
MNF is Everton v Burnley and is one for the DCL captainers to pin their Gameweek 4 hopes on.

My gut is telling me Brownhill is going to turn it round. We’ll be able to say we were there GP, in a way, cheering him on. Many others will say the same. But we’ll know.

Evening all…time to WC?
Stones/tsikmas/barnes/antonio all problems…think a reshuffle is needed as i don’t want to go without Ronaldo aswell. Hoping i can go without salah and jota/taa will be enough. thoughts??
Yes I would wildcard. That side looks in terminal decline.
I would build one around TAA, Salah and Ronaldo and plan out some potential future moves, like moving in on Chelsea from GW7 etc.

With DLC ruled out for 2-4 weeks, what are peoples thoughts? I had a transfer plan to get Luka in for GW7 but that’s going to need to be put back to GW8 as with Antonio also out, I’ll be screwed next week.
Thoughts on Bamford?
My thoughts are confused, slightly emotional, my side one European injury away from a wildcard I don’t really want to play.
I’ll replace DCL with Jiminez / Bamford or Ronaldo or maybe even Lukaku and drop Bruno to enable the latter or upgrade poor Jack Brownhill and play a spunky 3/5/2 with Toney being one of the 2.
Jiminez is a good shout. You should get Ron if you can I think
Yes you are right. Means losing Bruno but you can’t have ’em all.
Conscious however that I won’t be captaining him hence the slightly relaxed attitude. But will want for Villa.
Enjoying this week 73 pts (81 -8) as I brace for a poor showing next week with Antonio on the bench.
If whoever your captain is does well it should hide a multitude of sins.
And I know you keep the priest very busy when you go to confession, Bees.
I am certainly in the fallen category Kralin. God help me next week. All my money is up front with a dreadful midfield.
