Welcome back to FPL and if you are one of these shut-down-completely types who has spent the time between the end of Gameweek 3 and this deadline up a mountain with no internet or civilisation, you haven’t missed an awful lot (pffft)! Just tell me you made your transfers or pressed the confirm button correctly? No? You could be in for a rough one then.

Anyway, the fixtures themselves have us off to the capital this lunchtime for a South meets North affair as Palace host Spurs at Selhurst Park.

At 3pm – in a continuing glorious and welcome return of normality – we have count ’em SIX matches on offer. Those who have the luxury of watching matches at this time, we guess you may have your eyes fully on Old Trafford as the world watches how Newcastle will line up without Callum Wilson. United v United, Red v Black and White.

Arsenal and Norwich square off in what already looks like a six-pointer (jokes) and there are matches at Southampton, as they welcome West Ham United, and Watford who host Wolves. Meanwhile two Cities collide at the KP where Leicester and Manchester renew rivalries with the Foxes sharing the most recent fortune in their meetings.

Lastly, it is ironic how two teams who play football on the ground sounds like the airborne battle of the weekend as the Bees play the Seagulls. Brentford v Brighton is also a phonetic dream.

At dinner time (winks), Chelsea and Rom go after the (Argentine-free) Villains.

Sunday has us waiting until 4.30pm before we can enjoy Leeds v Liverpool (Mark Viduka springs to mind) and until then, I don’t know – talk to your family or something I guess.

MNF is Everton v Burnley and is one for the DCL captainers to pin their Gameweek 4 hopes on.

  1. Some early ramblings bouncing around my head…..Is it better to upgrade Toney or Brownhill this week? Should I just bench Antonio? Is having a Luronku front really necessary?

    If brownhill is Gray a good fit?
    If Toney then who? I have Antonio and Ronnie. Bamford?

    Yes they do bounce around.

    • Bouncing around like a Barnes Wallis bomb.

      Gray seems a fine replacement for poor Jack.

      Bamford has the fixtures.

      I think the front of Lukaku and Ronaldo with Salah in midfield is a premium too far. I’m so far in the rotate them school. Used in sparing five game bursts they shouldn’t overheat your side.

      This post seems slightly militaristic. Time to sound the last post for this evening.

      • I did not mean to sound militaristic. They were just thoughts bouncing around. That said it is only 3:20 in the afternoon here laugh

    • 1. Upgrade either one- depends on your team
      2. I would bench Antonio
      3. Not necessary- if it gives u better balance
      4. Gray seems good
      5. Probably Bamford

  2. I’m thinking Coufal and DCL to Marçal and Jesus for a -4 ….whaddya reckon? Could just do DCL to jiminez or someone instead but Wolves are only convincing me in defence atm and I don’t fancy playing any of my bench

    • I think I’d prefer Bamford to Jiminez though doubling on Leeds comes with risks. Good fixtures though.

      Doubling Man City comes with even more risks. I’d tread very carefully there.

      As long as Salah clicks this week you should be all right.

      • Good shout re Bamford …hadn’t thought of him but he’s certainly more nailed with a nice run of fixtures
        I nervously took a -8 last week and hated myself for it but it payed off slightly by 2pts and 0.2tv + a better squad …..is Coufal or Livramento to çal worth a -4 do you reckon…can see wolves getting a lot of CSs over next few weeks

    • I went with Jiminez over Bamford as i didn’t fancy triple Leeds (Ayling, Raphinha, Bamford).

    • They both sound reasonable but I think I’d get TAA in first.

      • Thanks ODT. Was tempted to wildcard as not too keen on my defence. I think ill just bring in Trent then.

    • Tsimikas —> Trent looks to me like the best option this week. Then next week Antonio will be back and your team will be looking gravy. After that, it’s all about bringing in a bit of Chelski for GW7. No need to wildcard.

    • I don’t see DCL in your team, unless you have the wrong team linked? Do correct this…makes it easier to help you.

      • Already change url in the website box but still link to a other person team.. any my money itb is 0.3m

      • Already transfer out antonio > bamford . Before knowing Dcl not even in the squad vs burnley..

  5. With dlc out i’m in a bit of trouble here. There arent any nice replacement for him is there?Got 2,4 itb wich leaves me 1,1 short lukaku.

    Could do dcl/Antonio/bench fodder to lukaku/gray/bench fodder…

    Not bad enough for wildcard is it?
