Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 8

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 8.

These GW’s get earlier and earlier. We begin this one with a 4pm deadline on Friday as Brighton and Burnley go all Box Office on us. Ever that hardy and all that… The late game is at 8pm as Southampton begin life sans Danny Ings against Newcastle.

Saturday sees the now normal succession of games beginning at 12.30pm with Everton hosting Man United and ending at about 10pm as West Ham and Fulham do battle in the late one (8pm KO). In between Palace and Leeds occupy the 3pm slot and Sheffield United go to Chelsea at 5.30pm.

It’s another marathon on Sunday as West Brom and Spurs kick us off at 12pm, Leicester host Wolves at 2pm, it’s the biggie at 4.30 pm as Pep welcomes Jurgen before Arsenal and Villa welcome in the International Break at 7.15pm.

The games in full…

So it all starts again in 87 minutes? 85 now after I’ve rambled on! Hope you all got your trades in on time. I did – in fact did a silly ‘let’s save money in the long run, I just panicked when I saw Mitchell flagged red, gotta get Lamptey back in before he goes up in price’-style transfer, at 3:58pm, then fumbled the selection of my defenders round, put Robbo on the reserves’ bench for KWP, then decided that it was probably better to have Robbo actually playing – did the swap…and suddenly the site closed for GW maintenance, so either I have a backline of Lamptey – Robbo – Zouma, or Lamptey – KWP – Zouma. Does it really matter??? Well no, not really, but it will be fascinating to see if the substitution actually happened or not, in….81 minutes! smile #getalifeAJW smile

I played Taylor over TAA :big-lol: So I am expecting Burnley to get hammered and Pool to keep CS with Trent scoring and assisting :hippo: :laugh2:

You were supposed to play him over Saiss, I’ll be more prescriptive next time! :punish:

Well, I got your advice and I almost listened to it but I just had to make a 15:59 panic buy that will get me a 1 pointer :laugh2:
Saiss left my team indefinitely and TAA is on my bench for the first time ever (probably last). I had to do something different cause I am having a shocker so far :close_tema:

A lot of us who follow the usual tried and tested methods seem to be so maybe you are onto something by going off message!

        • Tornado says:

I guess we’ll find out soon. If it works (by some miracle) then I will start doing ever crazier stuff like captaining MU players etc :laugh2:

        • AJW says:

Playing without TAA or Robbo in your team is like that scary moment when you go out into the world on your first day of giving up cigarettes – it’s quite freaky and you don’t really know what to do with your hands. In both cases (going Pool-free in defence AND nicotine-free for the first time) I recommend walking along at a brisk pace, looking like you know where you’re going – people will invariably ask you for directions, as you will have a decisive demeanour about you. Of course it all comes crumbling down when you start craving what’s missing, but you can train yourself to overcome these waves of self-indulgence!
Trust me, I’ve given up so many times (including the latest, which has lasted over 8 years now!), but have not managed to kick the habit of having a little red fullback in my FPL team (almost the ultimate FOMO, second only to that experienced by not having either Salah or Mané!).
Cheerio one and all! Haveagoodweekend!!! smile

Good luck folks! Another week to boast in new injuries, missed sitters and most cards collected!

:slaphead: missed the H&L deadline though, hopefully am eligible to get the remainder of matches wrong!
