Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!

Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!

451169898Looking to entertain whilst not losing the opportunity to be somewhat informative we come to a new addition of Grab, Avoid or Bore Off! We have selected a number of quick questions that we have seen on the minds of fantasy managers this past week and hope the many, many, many years of knowledge from our 3 very senior (Queen of England old) writers will assist you in your decision making. They will follow some semblance of order as explained below, but they are stubborn at best and forever crankheads so answers are never restricted by any rules as you will soon find out. Hope you enjoy and now let us get down to business…

Grab – You need this player on your squad.
Avoid – It’s a trap don’t get suckered in.
Bore off – Could care less either way. Grab him, avoid him or dress him up if you like.

Right here is my wildcard team.

Van Persie will make way for Aguero when he’s fit but my back line is giving me a headache. I don’t want to touch my front 7 so what would you change about my defence?.

      Andy says:

I’d drop Tripper and take a chance on Duff for Burnley which would save you .8. It’s a tad risky as Duff is just on the brink of returning from injury but he was an ever present in the team before being struck down so I’m hopeful that he’ll regain his place.

I’d invest some of that change into Clichy to avoid Kolarov rotation and if there’s enough left I’d also move Hutton for a Sunderland defender to rotate with Dummett as I don’t fancy a AV double at the back with Guzan.

      EBC says:

I’d go with something like this:

      Foster, Krul
Jones, Alderweireld, Van Aanholt, Trippier, Wasilewski

Hamer is now 3rd choice with Schwarzer joining. Burnley have good fixtures for 4 GWs so you could go for Trippier now and bring Hutton in at a later date.

Hi folks, I think I’ve got an interesting WC team. I can switch between 3-4-3, 3-5-2, 4-4-2, etc if needs be. 0 itb. Please RMT.

    Panti / Hamer
    Terry / Clichy / Jones / Bertrand / Bruce
    Haz / Fab / Sanchez / Silve / Chadli
    Aguero / Kane / Barnes

Obviously Clichy is risky but I think I’ve got good defensive cover if he’s benched. Bruce might be good for a while. Rooney in for Aguero for now (and Ings instead of Barnes maybe?).

      Andy says:

Not a fan of the double Spurs coverage Sanchez, after the draw with Burnley their fixture list is starting to get pretty clustered with the replay and the league cup semi final this month so I think we will be seeing some rotation even with their EPL decent fixtures, I also don’t believe they score enough to warrant double coverage so maybe having only Kane would be enough from them.

      EBC says:

Don’t like it at all to be honest.

You’ll end up with tricky choices on who to play each week and it’ll backfire on you.

      NIN says:

Sanchez – I see some big selection headaches ahead here. Have you gone through all the upcoming GW’s to see who gets played in any given GW? If so, and it all fits, then yeah, pretty beast squad right here.

      FC Sanchez says:

Thanks guys for the constructive criticism. Yeah, selection some weeks might be tough. Hmm. Alrighty then, back to the drawing board again!

    chilli_green says:

Hi guys, any thoughts on this setup for my WC?

    Foster/Heaton
    Terry/Debuchy/Bertrand/O’Shea/Cameron
    Sanchez/Di Maria/Silva/Hazard/Fer
    Costa/Ings/Kane

With a view to doing Costa -> Aguero with one other swap when Kun’s back in play.

Feels like if I’m missing anyone it’s one of Sigurdsson or Fabregas. If Fab comes in then Costa’s getting dropped altogether.

      NIN says:

chili – Your GK’s don’t really fit together very well, from what i can see. Foster -> Pantilimon is one move i would make as you’ll pick up much better fixtures with those two. That leaves double Sunderland at the back, which isn’t ideal, so maybe ditch Johnser. Wisdom is an option, if you would like to keep WBA defence in your squad. Or Wasilewski if you would rather a budget type.

    dhruva says:

What do u guys think Colback/Ward Prowse/Boyd good shout for Bench warming??But i like to hav a strong bench so i was thinkin Downing N Chadli rotation for 4th mid position.Other 6 Attackers r Rooney(to Aguero during WC) Giroud Kane Sanchez Hazard Silva(Di Maria during WC)

    • 52.1
      EBC says:

Ward Prowse is the best out of the 3 imo, that’s who I’m going to go for, but you might find it frustrating as it uses a Southampton place. Means you can’t have Pelle, Tadic and a defender.

      • dhruva says:

Should i rotate Chadli n Downing cause extra 1.3m is giving me nothing of benifit as i cannot upgrade Giroud-Costa(To be fair i m not his fan)and there is no other good mid-priced striker. There is Pelle but he is struggling

Evening Lads. Who’s the best Captain choice this weekend??

      MattX says:

Should probably post my team smile

      • dhruva says:

Hii MattX.Surprised not to see Hazard in ur team.He would have been ideal this week.I would suggest Costa(Fixture) And Kane(Form)

        • MattX says:

Yeah there was a big discussion about me getting in Hazard at the weekend and it was decided bringing in Sanchez was better then selling Costa aswell as Yaya for a hit to bring in Hazard. I was thinking about Fabregas aswell is he a better option to Costa?? Or even Sterling against Sunderland because he was given a rest last night??

      • NIN says:

Evening Matt. I’ve gone Hazard (c) Sanchez (vc). Seeing as you ain’t got Hazard, i would go for Sanchez.

        • MattX says:

Right cheers NIN, but should I not go for Fabregas instead of Hazard?? Sanchez could have a tough time of it against Stoke. Plus as I said above Sterling against Sunderland could be a good gamble as he was rested yesterday.

        • dhruva says:

Sunderland.7 Cs so far n 1 Of them vs Pool at Anfield so its risky n Sterling has been sloppy infront of goal.

        • MattX says:

Good point so Sanchez, Costa or Fab??

        • NIN says:

MattX – Either of those could work, but i wouldn’t pick either ahead of Sanchez. I fully expect Sanchez to be in the thick of things against Stoke. If he was on penalty duty i’d probably pick him ahead of Hazard this week.

        • MattX says:

Okay cheers NIN. Sanchez it is.

My to be WC team.Thoughts Please.Suggestions most welcome.

      MattX says:

My only problem is Giroud to be honest not the best striker.

      • dhruva says:

who do i bring in??n how??

        • MattX says:

That’s the down side there isn’t really any striker out there that is firing and all the big names are injured. Maybe a short term budget striker or even just Pelle until someone starts showing some worth.

      • Andy says:

I can’t afford Sanchez so I’m taking Giroud as my budget way into Arsenal attacking coverage, if it wasn’t for injury I’d of thought he’d of had a decent season this year, he has got three goals (and 1 RC) from only his five starts but I’m biased on this one. (slightly).

I wouldn’t have him and Sanchez though, I’m not that biased.
