Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!

Grab, Avoid or Bore Off!

What happens when we have too many days between fixtures? That’s right we come out with another instalment of grab, avoid or bore off! As anyone who has read it before knows, we do try and offer some valuable insight, but with a twist. While trying to give you some sensible opinions on transfers and other matters we certainly have some fun with it. This will be no different as we look at what players you should be looking to buy, hold or sell and also offering an opinion on Pelle’s granny goalkeeping skills. Yeah, you read that right. Well no more waffling from me as you will certainly get enough from our 3 ‘pros’ who never seem to follow the instructions below. So let the rambling commence…

[clear]Grab – You need this player on your squad.
Avoid – It’s a trap don’t get suckered in.
Bore off – Could care less either way. Grab him, avoid him or dress him up if you like.

    Evening all!
Well, my DGW has gone as last seasons and been a complete balls up! Had 2 strategies going into it. 1, a sensible one and 2, a not sensible one. I went not sensible one and………I dont really know why i dont just do sensible! smile
Anyway, 1FT and 3.4m in bank. I wont be doing anything till next Thursday but I’ve missed you guys! :smirk:
    Thinking Hazard back is essential.
    Thoughts appreciated!

Hi B-Bash. Cazorla -> Hazard seems the best move to me. Defence is looking a bit shaky though. Much like my own.

You’ve missed us?! Soppy git! Bet you love us too soon, think I know where all the cask ale in Cheshire went this evening :hippo:

Anyway… Yeah agree with NIN, Hazard in, simples.

      • NIN says:

        Right about what mate?

        • inittowinit says:

Hazard, you been not drinking enough too?!

        • NIN says:

Hahaha laugh I was referring to your comment on MLSBoss….

I think you’ve been guzzling enough for all of us 😉

        • inittowinit says:

Jeez NIN, at least cross reference then! You answered me answering B-Bash on a totally different site! But yeah, maybe you were right laugh

        • NIN says:

Good point. I’m knackered tired so didn’t even think of the potential confusion. Some mongo gave me bogey directions earlier today and damn near made me late for an induction for the new job. Made it by 5 minutes thanks to an absolute gem who gave me a lift (someone i had never met before). Said arsehole sent me on a two hour walk after telling me it was ‘about a mile’. Feel like going back to his shop and knocking his teeth out! A lot of people outside Dublin don’t like Dubliners. Sad cases.

Anyway, what was the Boss comment about? The chat over there is moving at warp speed so i didn’t reply there.

      Pancho says:

+1 for Caz -> Haz then just play Clyne. I realize a defender playing against CFC is scary, but look at what they did (didn’t do) against West Ham, who has a much worse defense than they do. I’m predicting a boring game at the Bridge and another 1-0 win for CFC with Hazard goal. #YouHeardItHereFirst smile

      • B-Bash says:

Cheers Pancho! A 1 nil win for CFC wont get me much from Clyne though. Hoping Wolsh holds out and Stoke keep a cleanie!!

        • Pancho says:

I was more speaking to resisting taking a hit for a defender who would play for Wolsch, if you were worried about playing Clyne.

        • B-Bash says:

Sorry mate, mis read that one. No, not gonna get rid of any defs yet. I think PVA will feature due to his impact after he came on and hoping that Wolsh gets fit and starts. Koscielny was a punt I regret, but hey ho!

      B-Bash says:

Thanks gents,my thoughts also with Hazard
Oh the beautifull cask ales of Cheshire!! If only Initt. Sat here catching up on Walking Dead whilst on call!! :cuss:
FA Cup Sunday (for Everton fans, its just Sunday) is the next time I shall taste the sweet nectar!

      • NIN says:

Indeed. Many are of the opinion that Chelsea will win a tight game vs Southampton. I’m not so sure about that, to be honest. I reckon they’ll score a few so young Hazard is a must. He has been amazing this season. Frighteningly good.

        • Pancho says:

True about Hazard! I’ve often felt he was the best player in a game even when he didn’t get more than 2 Fantasy Points! He’s actually been taking players on this year, unlike in past seasons.

        • NIN says:

Hazard has always taken players on. That’s his game. What i have been most impressed with this season is his discipline. Jose has him playing like a 28/29 year old, which is pretty sick considering he’s just 24. In my opinion, he must be in the final three for the next Ballon D’or, or something is very very wrong.

        • Raziel says:

He must be important in a CL game if he wants to be in the final 3 for the Ballon whatever. The Ballon whatever doesn’t always make sense. I remember in 2010 when SNeijder deserved it the most, the season Messi deserved it the least Sneijder was even in the final 3 even though he won the treble with Inter and reached the Worldcup final with the Dutch squad. After that he has sucked but that year he was awesome, hehe.

Players like Iniesta and Xavi deserved to win the Ballon over Messi but Messi got the ball automatically. So I wouldn’t bet on Hazard getting it. And I can already hear the Mourinho complaints. Rodgers must also be complaining that the best player of the EPL Coutinho will not win the year award. Wonder what Brendan Rodgers thinks about Jose Enrique now, the player he called the best leftback in England just a year ago. Dude comes across a bit senile at times. 😉

        • NIN says:

I find it hard to argue against Messi getting during it those seasons, but yeah, it is pretty shit how it works.

        • Raziel says:

          @ NiN
That season Messi was shite in the CL, he did nothing for Argentina @ the worldcup, in La Liga Xavi was their best player and at the worldcup Iniesta was (think Iniesta was injured during that season). However, that would mean you would give the ball automatically to the guy that is the best player, not that guy that had the best season. Messi had a bad season, no doubt he was/is the best player in the world.

        • NIN says:

That’s the thing, he was on such a higher level that he just had to be crowned no1. It’s unfortunate on the players that missed out, but Messi deserved it. Things are a lot closer now so it’s not a banker that he wins it every year. Also, i didn’t suggest that Hazard should win the next one. Just that he should be final three, probably finishing third. He’s ridiculously good.

        • Raziel says:

Nin. He would’ve deserved it if he had been important for his team or country that year. He failed for both. How can you get the ballon which is supposed to be a award based on your accomplishment that season if you weren’t even the most important player of your team. And again failed miserably in South Africa.

        • NIN says:

Are you saying he wasn’t important to his team? He scored 47 goals that year! Granted, it wasn’t coming off for him when he played for Argentina, but there were reasons for that.

        • Raziel says:

          Nin! Stats are for Americans.

Even the Spanish newspapers didn’t agree with his win that season. Old news now though so irrelevant. But if you ask which year had the oddest winner then it was that one. People were still ejaculating over everything that was Barca. Based on world cup Iniesta deserved it, based on la liga xavi/messi, based on cl xavi.

Also the fact Ibra never reaches the top 3 tells me something is fishy.

        • NIN says:

Of course the Spanish media didn’t agree, they’re Spanish! Anyway, agree to disagree.

As for Ibrahimovic.. The day he makes top three for a Ballon D’or is the day i give up on football. In my opinion, he’s not even top 10, and never has been.

        • Raziel says:

Lol, the Ibra thing was a joke. He is the biggest critic. Anyway, he’ll never come close, too old now. As for the past 10 years, I think he has been the best pure striker out there.

Spanish newspapers thing was a bad argument. But I’m not alone in not supporting Messi to win that year, was even surprised he made the best 3 based on the achievements for club and country that season. Anyway off for bed ya freaking Ibra hater.

          Oyasumi nasai

        • NIN says:

Night mate. And yeah, i cant stand Ibrahimovic. Seriously overrated.

        • Raziel says:

I noticed you can’t stand him, overrated he’s not however. 😉

When he feels like balling he can be genius. Still better than Costa/Kane. Kun is a different type of player. Ibra is a real number 9. The ones I kind of miss. Falcao used to be a good second, Ibra however still balling shows he’s much better.

Too bad players like Ibra/Cavani are wasted in the Serie A and the Ligue 1.

        • B-Bash says:

Nin/Pancho, selling Hazard for the blank gw was part of my risk plan which failed. I bought Hazard in gw 16 and he’s done me a treat! Need him back now due to ownership if nothing else. Taking a massive punt on Yaya as Silva is the on form mf at the mo. Fingers crossed!

        • NIN says:

Not too much of a loss at just one week though. Thankfully you’ve got ze funds to bring him back this week.

        • Pancho says:

I would like the move for Yaya if City weren’t playing 2 at the top now. Even in his deeper lying role last year he got forward a lot because he had a bit more freedom. I think with 2 forwards and Silva in front of him he will stay deeper. Not to mention that City’s crap defense needs more coverage this season :/

      • inittowinit says:

Bigger fish to fry now B. We’ve got relegation Sunday coming in May laugh

        • B-Bash says:

You can’t relegated. I dont think you will personally. But I did have some fun with Dave C this week! I only have to say hello with a smile and he’s off! Oh how he loves the reds! :big-lol:

        • inittowinit says:

Brilliant, pass him my best regards! It’s an outside chance but we just keep losing which is never a good sign!

      Albertini says:

Evening Bash, how are you mate?

+1 on Hazard as 1st priority and I know you’ll be waiting till the end of next week to do the transfer but we must also be aware of the results from the FA Cup and their implications on possible blanks in GW33. There are a lot of teams who could blank that week and one of them is Chelsea (if Utd wins).

      NIN says:

Hey GP. I’m more concerned about (c) pick in MLS, to be honest! Cant decide between my man Robbie, or Kaka, or Morales.

      • inittowinit says:

You’ve answered your own question there matey!

        • NIN says:

Maybe so. He is the best player in the league, by miles, after all. I just have a good feeling about Morales now that Vancouver have a decent striker for him to aim passes at. Kaka more on the punty side of things, but that one could go very well too. Eternal made a good point in one of the podcasts about NYC having an abysmal defence. Kaka could kill them.

      • B-Bash says:

        What’s MLS?
Is it as boring as cricket? 😉

        • NIN says:

laugh Thankfully not! I watched a good few games last season and really enjoyed most of them. The Fantasy game has it’s downfalls but i loved it last season and am looking forward to playing this year too. Shame all the games are on so late but there’s not a lot can be done about that.
