Grab, Avoid or Bore off!

Welcome to our second installment of Grab, Avoid or Bore off for the 2015-16 season. For those new to the site, it is a simple question and answer segment that covers everything from the serious to the absurd. So why do we call it that? Tradition, is the easy answer as we basically have veered so far off course that it barely has any resemblance to the original format. Thanks to our members for some of the ideas on the questions, we tried to include most of them or some semblance of them. Well enough of the small talk from me, let’s see what the girls have to say about a number of topics ranging from FPL dilemmas to who is cuter?

Thinking of holding onto Kun til next week. Only issue is that means I don’t have City attack this weekend. I can field a strong front seven without a transfer, but Ighalo has Arsenal, who have defended really well this season. Thinking a risk on Costa may pay off. Worth a hit?

      NIN says:

You’ve got enough strength to cover the attack, for me. Hopefully one of those defenders is passed fit or you’ll probably have to make a switch there.

    • 79.2

I would leave kun and deal with him next week and bench ward,Oxford, kun in that order….ighalo should have a decent chance to score as they play home and he is in good form and leads the attack, but having a 13mill + player on the bench is risky as other strikers can be exploding by this time next week. Maybe look into bony/Costa/sturridge for Aguero.

Thanks for the thoughts NIN &FDMS! I was thinking of either Costa or Bony in. I’m nervousness Bournmouth will bleed goals away to City and I hate not having anyone in their attack. I know it’s not great to take hits but often not taking hits can come back to bite you too. Last week I wanted to take a -4 to get KDB in for Pedro but I held. We know how that went…

Choose 3 from the list below (regardless of price) :

    Mahrez (rotation risk?)
    Mane (double up?)
    Walcott (rotation/double up?)
    payet (will form continue?)
Hazard (lack of goals for team?)

Or should I ditch the 3-5-2 plan along with one of these mid and play the good old 3-4-3 with lukaku/Costa ?

    Mahrez- Payet – Hazard
If you look at hazards points over the season he’s actually not doing that poorly. We are just all used to expecting so much from him that we are down on him. I think there’s a chance Chelsea turn it around this weekend and it will all have to do with him bringing the goals.

      Bongo says:

      Pancho,
Hazard not doing that poorly !
Trouble is he cost so much that he needs to score big to justify the price. He is the highest priced midfielder and the second costliest player overall after Kun.
To me Chelsea have some confidence issues and Mourinio is losing the plot, and I wouldn’t even consider shelling out over 11m until there are massive improvements…

      lukealike says:

the only way hazards price can be justified is if he brings in points comparable to debruyne and sanchez. And at that price he is certainly not worth a punt, if anything I would pick willian or pedro over him if I was desperate for chelsea cover or maybe even costa, but im not mentally unstable so I need no Chelsea cover.

Look at Mane, Mata, Eriksen, Payet, Mahrez, Hoolahan, Walcott + 10 others. You would need to be on a lot of hard rugs to ever think Hazard is worth brigning in at the moment and at his high price. Things could change and he will find his form again, but I would wait till its confirmed.
No way anyone could afford Snachez, DeBruyne and Hazard in their team. And well if they can then they have crippled thier team to accomodate a player who isnt performing and even if he does, he aint going to get a hatti is he….
Only a die hard Cheslea fan would be considering having him

      • Pancho says:

Good thoughts Lukealike and Bongo, although not having to put Kun in makes it possible for me to have a pretty balanced squad of:
        Gomes/Butland
        Kolorov/Evans/Monreal/Ward/Oxford
        Sanchez/KdB/Haz/Payet/Mahrez
        Ighalo/Pelle/Lukaku
I’m not planning on doing this, but it is a possibility to have a really solid squad. I’m gonna need to have a calculated differential or two and being one of the few with him in when he finally hits form would definitely help.

    Gents,

    Need your thoughts on this;

    Kun and Sinclair out
    Bony/lukaku and Walcott in

    Or

    Kun out and Sturridge/Costa in

This is my current team, thoughts?

P.S I would also play my AOA chip if I go with the first option

      NIN says:

Evening Mitro. Firstly, what’s the situation with Ward? Whether he’s fit or not changes things a bit.

      • Mitro says:

Hi NIN – he’s flagged at 75% now probably get a better idea after the press conferences in the week

        • NIN says:

Okay, 75% ain’t bad. Wasn’t sure whether that was a 50 or 75. Assuming Zabaleta starts again, you’ll need Ward so certainly hold off on any moves until news on that. If that is the case, then i would keep Aguero and get a defender so you can field 11 players. If Ward is good to go then Aguero –> Bony or a striker of preference and leave it at that. Not seeing too much need for a hit, to be honest.

bring in mane or walcott, mane better fixtures….

    Pancho says:

I spent a little time perusing through some of the top teams. Most of them have KdB. This means that taking a hit to get him in is a backwards move if the goal is gaining on those top teams. I am in a pretty good spot (85000ish) but I’m gonna need some well calculated differentials to gain places. Feeling like Costa could be that player. Thoughts on any/other differentials that may fit into this squad?

      NIN says:

Pancho – Shying away from top performers because the top sides have them is fairly counter productive, in my opinion. De Bruyne may not keep this goal scoring ratio up but he will be in the points most weeks, judging by his previous figures and suitability to the league. I’d rather lose four points on him and cancel it out for future weeks than watch from afar as he racks up the points. It looks like it will be difficult to get him this week, though.

Nice rank, by the way. A good 200k ahead of my lot laugh

      • Pancho says:

Thanks NIN! My best rank ever as I usually take waaaaayyyyy too many hits smile That’s actually why I am hesitant to take a -8 to get KDB in. I’m doing really well without taking hits. Maybe a -4 to get KDB next week, but that’s what I said last week :/
Also, not sure who to get rid of from the mids. I just brought Eriksen in and he’s a definitely differential. He’s started 5 games and has 3 assists and 2 goals. If Kane hits form it will because of supply from him.

        • NIN says:

If only he was a bit more consistent. I’ve had awful hardship with Eriksen over the last couple of seasons. Awful laugh For that reason, he’d be my shout for the drop but i understand the want. Good that you’re keeping the hits in check, they can be great when timed well but in general it’s a difficult strategy to pull off.

      lukealike says:

      Aguero>Vardy
      Mahrez>Mane
      Mata>Walcott

If you didnt want DeBruyne that is
And just bench Aguero for now, dont take a hit out on him for Vardy yet. Just for next gameweek get Walc and Mane and bench Kun

Losing Eriksen is a possibilty also instead of mahrez. He wont score every game etc but he is still a great player to have, realistically though with your attack after Mata he is probably the next weakest link IMO? I kind of expect Mahrez to lose his form + Lecister to some extent, so I dont even have mahrez anymore.

Im talking about players in terms of current form, fixtures etc. Not saying Mata is bad or anything smile
