Grab, Avoid or Bore off!

Welcome to our second installment of Grab, Avoid or Bore off for the 2015-16 season. For those new to the site, it is a simple question and answer segment that covers everything from the serious to the absurd. So why do we call it that? Tradition, is the easy answer as we basically have veered so far off course that it barely has any resemblance to the original format. Thanks to our members for some of the ideas on the questions, we tried to include most of them or some semblance of them. Well enough of the small talk from me, let’s see what the girls have to say about a number of topics ranging from FPL dilemmas to who is cuter?

This is my projected WC team so far….

    Hennessey (Gomes)
    Bellerin/Dawson/Cedric (Davies/O’shea)
    Mahrez/KdB/Mane/Payet/Sanchez
    Pelle/Vardy (Ighalo)
    (3.5 ITB)
….the plan is to see how my front 8 play next week and if any players I don’t have explodes eg Walcott/hazard/lukaku/bony/mata/Costa/sturridge, then bring them in with the money I have (also allows me to get aguero with just 2 transfers later).

How is the plan? Or should I just bite the bullet and get one of those players now rather than later?

      NIN says:

FDMS – I’m usually not a fan of banking so much but i kinda like this plan. First thought was to get another forward in for Ighalo but that just opens up massive selction problems. Your midfield is just about perfect so that kitty could come in handy for a premium forward if one happens to turn up.

Captain Dicky and His C Men says:

It seems a lot of people taking out Ageuro for Costa. Am i missing something? 10.9m for a hot headed player, who has returned 1 assist and 1 goal in 8 games! I think Im gonna go Sturridge.

Captain Dicky and His C Men says:

Or is it worth keeping him? I heard 2-8 weeks so being Aguero it will be 12 weeks

      • NIN says:

2-8 is what i heard too. I’m selling him but probably not until after next GW as i already took a hit. A calculated risk that blew up in my face. Oops! Selling this week is preferable i reckon.

      NIN says:

Couldn’t agree more, Captain. He’s a massive risk at 10.9m. Could score a hatty, could pull his hammy again, could get sent off in the first few minutes… We just don’t know. If he wasn’t such a maniac he’d be the perfect placeholder for Aguero.

      Pancho says:

Agreed on the danger. He’s a huge risk, but there’s potential for huge reward and a massive differential! Is consider Sturridge but their fixtures are not favorable. Costa may be worth the risk IMO.

    BREAKING NEWS.
Jurgan Klopp has said he will watch 17 dvds of Liverpools recent games in the next 48 hours. F** king hell, the bloke will resign on Monday. :big-lol:

      NIN says:

      Haha, bye bye Jurgen laugh

In all seriousness though, what the hell happened to Rodgers? The trio of forwards falling apart is one thing but he really collapsed under the pressure, making insane and sometimes idiotic decisions. A case of no Luis, no idea maybe? I do hope he comes back and does well for someone else though, he seems a good skin. Maybe replace Snoozy McSnoozerson at Sociedad?

I play in a league where we draft players, so my options are limited to who’s not on another team’s squad. I need to do some rearranging because of Aguero’s injury.

Was thinking of dropping Pedro and Kone and picking up Mbokani and Montero (Ritchie, Ki and Nasri are also available) Good move?

    My team at the moment:

    Myhill
    Kolarov Bellerin Clyne
    Pedro Ozil Payet Depay
    Pelle Aguero Kone
Bench: Drinkwater Mariappa (enabler) Jagielka Begovic

    hey guys,
    How are we all?
Lots going on with injuries and new management but my transfer this week is simple, Gomez out before he drops in price.
I’m thinking Francis or Nyom, who do we think?
Or is there someone else in that price range? Already have Jonny Evans and Martin.
    Thanks

      inittowinit says:

Hi ft, good thanks, yourself? I wouldn’t fancy either in all honesty. Nyom has Arsenal, West Ham, Leicester and Man United in the next 5. Francis has City, Spurs and Southampton next 3. Is this someone who has to start immediately or just a defensive rotator? Galloway would be a good pick up if it’s for rotation. GW11 onwards is ideal for him.

      • full time says:

        Yeah all good thanks initt.
Love the article by the way, always enjoy this one.
Isn’t Baines due back in two weeks?
It is someone to sit on the bench quite a lot just don’t want to lose .1….

        • full time says:

          What about a palace defender?

        • inittowinit says:

Cheers, just something to fill the gap, back with proper articles as of Monday.

Checked Baines out and it’s unclear to say the least!

3 days ago – @BenDinnery: Baines is training three times per day in an effort return ahead of schedule following ankle surgery #EFC

4 days ago – @BenDinnery: @fpl_junior Still a while. Baines was pictured on crutches this week

So either still a cripple or fighting fit and near to a return laugh Actual site states 7/11 as a possible return date as per the pic.

Looked at Palace too prior to responding earlier. They’re not much better with West Ham, Leicester, Utd and Liverpool on the next 4. 2 after that are Sunderland and Newcastle though.

        • full time says:

          Thanks for the research buddy.
To be honest I’m after a long term cheap defender. Don’t want to have to use another transfer in a few(ish) weeks.
So its Watford, Palace or Bournemouth….. Thing I will flip a coin!

    charlcupido says:

So i”m serious trouble, made early transfers to avoid price drop of injured defenders and price drop of Pedro.
I am on -4 and in an extreme pickle.
Do i take further hits? Kun>Pelle and Silva>KDB?

    • 90.1
      inittowinit says:

You certainly are! smile Evans should be ok in theory so I think you are going to have to bite the bullet and take another -4 for one of the City guys. Aguero makes more sense as he’s out for longer and I’m which case I’d go Pelle or even Bony. For a more immediate return I’d go Silva to KDB. Silva could be ridden though for a week or 2 until he returns.

      • charlcupido says:

Thanks Inittowinit, first time ive ever gona fot early transfers and look where its got me. Would u use all the funds surplus from Kun transfer? And strengthen defense more or even bench?

        • inittowinit says:

Sorry I’ve only just seen your reply. Assuming you mean for future transfers and not this week then yes I think you may as well use it elsewhere but I’d probably not spread it around too much, maybe put it into one or two players at the most just so it’s easier to get back out as and when he’s back.
