Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW27

Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Predictions GW27. I hope you’re all enjoying this short respite from all things FPL. I used to hate the breaks, be it internationals or cups, these days I relish them; no pressure, no stress. I don’t even have to worry about Newcastle in the cup; you have to learn to see the positives in any situation.

Looking back over the GW26 scores, it’s not surprising that it was a high-scoring week; predictable wins, with predictable score-lines. At least for most teams. Whilst a win for Manchester City seemed a given, few could have seen them hit Chelsea for 6, least of all Chelsea. Elsewhere it was business as usual; Newcastle throw away a lead deep into injury time? Check. Liverpool and Manchester United picking up a clean sheet whilst also netting a much predicted 3 goal reply? Check and check again. Even Arsenal managed their predicted win with a predicted clean sh… oh wait a minute, nope scratch that last one (sorry owners of Kolašinac!).

So on to this week’s winners, as I said it was a high scoring week; it took a mammoth 17pts to take the top spot this week, a score achieved by both Mosc1928 and Mahelmy but it was Mosc192’s 19th minute first goal prediction (Pogba) that came closest (14mins) so he takes the prize this week! Mahelmy’s points have pushed him into the second spot in the table and within just 4pts of the overall league table summit, Mosc192 sneaked into 3rd and he is now just 6pts of the top – game on! The second spot was a close run affair; our very own Init and Swirly joining Eplnoob with a solid 16pts. Nice predicting there fellas.  With just 10pts separating the league’s top 5, it looks like another season that could go down to the wire!

And so; Many Congratulations to Mosc192. Please email us on contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk to claim your prize.

THIS WEEK’S COMPETITION… Scoring couldn’t be simpler: Correct Score = 3 points Correct result = 1 point Correct First Goalscorer of the game-week = 5pts (Points are awarded on an ‘either/or’ basis, so you’ll either score 3 points for a Correct Score or 1 point for a Correct Result, these are never added together for a 4 point score.) Tie-Breaker In the event that two or more members are tied as winners for the week the overall winner of the t-shirt will be decided by a tie-breaker. In order to do this, we ask that you also post your prediction of the time that the first goal of the week will be scored at. Nearest the pin wins.

The Rules… They are few; 1 entry per person and all entries must be submitted prior to the first game of the game-week. Kick-off this week comes on Friday at 19:45 pm. Once all the games have been played, we’ll count up the scores and the winner(s) will be announced in the following week’s competition article and each week our winner will walk away with an FF247 branded t-shirt! ). So just to recap all you need to do is; – Copy and paste the fixtures from below and pop your score prediction on each. – Tell us who you think will be the first goal scorer of the week (and that can be from any game regardless of your other predictions) – Add in your time of the first goal of the week for any potential tie-breaker situation. Here are the fixtures, best of luck to you all!

Matt, Rosco & DMC. I am not one to quibble over points, but I think my FGS prediction of Pogba @ 19 min was overlooked.
Pogba scored at 14 min, so the score should have been 17 pts, not 12 pts. Sorry to cause a bit of bother. If you could check it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, I can only apologise, you are correct, we had you down as 15pts but you did indeed score 17pts! You’ll see that the article has been edited (or will be in a moment) and we’ll be sure to let DMC know and he’ll update the leaderboard!

Mosc, Mahemly, and all, my apologies. Just checked and it gets worse! smile
It turns out that for some reason I swapped you two (the authorities should investigate this).
Mosc did in deed score 17 (not 15), but Mahelmy didn’t score 17, but 15! Confusing? Check it out yourselves in the picks below. So Mosc wins on 17, no need for tie break, and Mahelmy gets Digned, that is, -2, to end the week on 15 and T-shirtless!! Sorry mate smile
