Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 13 FPL News: If you scored big in GW12 or for that matter simply respectable, you are either a psychic or somehow life led you down a path where you turned to into a Victor Anichebe owner. Think we will take the low score and a clean conscience, but that’s just us and no one said we were not spiteful. Anyway, Burnley gets their tokus handed to them by City to start the game-week. That is followed by four 3pm games. Hull take on the aliens who stole Liverpool’s attacking talents in West Brom. We also see the champs host Boro, the Swans tangle with Palace in the EPL’s version of Sunday league football and poor man’s West Brom, Liverpool host the suddenly alive Black Cats who by the way have used more than their allotted 9 lives to survive relegation over the last couple of seasons. Saturday is closed by the best fixture on paper when first place Chelsea tangles with Spurs. Expect Tottenham to try and keep the status quo as they have already reached their end of season goal. Behind Arsenal and back in the Europa zone right where they belong.
Sunday brings us 4 fixtures. Watford has an easy one as they get the Allen-less Stoke side in the opening game of the day. Arsenal get back to their scoring ways against The Cherries and that is followed up by the last 2 fixtures. United look to gain ground on the top teams when they face West Ham and Southampton sorta welcomes back their former manager when Everton pay a trip to the St. Mary’s stadium.

After wallowing in self pity due to massive 40 points and leaving McAuley on the bench and replacing him with Amat I decided to analyse instead of feeling sorry for myself. Hehe

Anyway. I checked if Always Captain Aguero is true for me.

You can see the results. Tinkering costed me 70 points so far this season. I would be at 13K in OR if I wasn`t stupid.
No more. If fit and not excessively rotated I will Always Captain Aguero.

In other news on Saturday I got rid of COutinho and went for Ericksen. Very nice stats, hope goal vs. Chelsea will help him roll.
Also looking at fixtures next week transfer has to be Chelsea player.

      Excellent experiment!
I am not sure I could perform the same without endangering my mental health!

Nice one Konstro! Very interesting to see that, but like Vinci I prefer to see others suffer. So glad you are doing it, not me. smile

      • konstro says:

Thanks guys. Unfortunately for me is a real time experiment, haha. I guess it needs bit background.

First column on the left are Aguero points, than second column was my actual captain choice points, than how many points my best player that week got, than 3rd best and 5th best that game week.

So basically always choosing Aguero would equal to being lucky enough to choose 3rd best player from my team every time.

As I was rather unlucky (or not very clever would be more correct) my captain choices got me only 40 points so far (it`s excluding round 4 and 5 when Aguero was suspended). If I would always choose Aguero I would have 75 points (total difference 70 point in total score)

I had Aguero as a captain 6 times but 4 of those weeks were low scoring. I managed to not captain him vs. West Brom (16), Swansea (13) and Burnley(12) . Oh the pain.

Sample size is only 11 events but still looks promising enough to stick to go with Aguero as a captain every time.

      Andy says:

So you’re now going to give him the arm band when the best defense in the EPL comes to town then? In an early kick off no less.

      • konstro says:

Fair point. It also at home and this year for some strange reason Aguero is unbelievable away from home but flatters to deliver at Etihad. You gave me something to think about again.

        • Andy says:

Well we wouldn’t want to make that all important cappo pick to early in the week now would we smile

I think I’ll be taking a shot with a random cappo choice of Mane this week and see what happens, seems a good week to try something different given the fixture list of my side.

Why the mass transfers in of Siggy for this GW? They are playing Spurs.
I know the fixtures get somewhat less hectic after that but wait another week surely?

      Andy says:

Players who score well the week before are always top transfer targets mate, especially in a week when one of the top % owned guys gets injured.

    • 116.2

I would probably agree with you SPecialK, but my guess is that people who are doing that transfer have Coutinho and don’t feel like waiting a week for someone that they will get in anyway and possibly using an extra transfer to bring him in a week later is not worth it. Plus one glance at his production this season tells you that while one should take Spurs into account, Siggy has done great in tougher fixtures this season. He has scored or assisted against CFC, United, City, Everton and Arsenal. Not sure what I am doing and I might go in a different direction, but I can see why that could make sense to the others.

I am probably going to go with Pedro. 99% sure.

Afternoon Everyone. How are we all doing? Didn’t make my moves yesterday and it seems like Gundogan has dropped in price.

What do you think I should do with this lot? Thinking Pedro and Gundogan to Wally and Matic or should I do Pedro and Gundogan to Wally and Philips/Zaha then next week swap Vert to another Chelsea defender?

      Andy says:

What’s the story with Firminho? I’d wait on news from him first before making any decisions but I’d definitely be losing Gundogan this GW, I like Zaha in the budget price range for the mids.

      • Matt says:

Hey Andy. Pretty sure Firmino is fine Klopp had an interview today and just said that Couthino, Lallana and Sturridge were injured. No mention of Firmino what so ever.

Would you rather have double Chelsea defence or double attack? I do like Zaha though but Palace are crap.

        • Andy says:

Hmm seems like it’d take a whole lot of sideways transfers to get another Chelski defender in as Pedro could turn out well over the next 6 games with that fixture list and you’d have to lose a Spuds defender who have better fixtures over the next four, I’d probably leave it mate.

I’m not really bothered by team results at this stage with N’cassle in the championship, if he’s scoring points and not called Jermaine Defoe I’m more than likely buying him smile

        • Matt says:

Yeah DB has made me have a look at doing Pedro, Gundogan and Heaton to Wally, Zaha/Philips and Courtois. What do you think of those moves?

I think Pedro could be great but I think I need Arsenal mid cover and Wally would be the only one I can afford unless I downgrade Haz.

Haha True that!! Newcastle have been doing great in the Championship this year and I don’t see them not winning the league.

      Matt

I would hold on to Spurs defensive coverage judging by the fixtures ahead.

Looking at your players I suggest you play your All Out Defence chip this week smile

I already made my game week transfers, Lukaku and Benteke out for Kane and Austin

    db says:

That’s a difficult choice, I think 3 Chelsea is the way to go and ideally 1 in each position i.e def/gk, mid, forward (costa). I’d be inclined to take hits and do Pedro and Gundogan to Wally and Philips and also Alonso to Vert, then next week take another hit and do either one of you GK to Courtois and either Austin/Anichebe to Costa. Your then set up with Courtois at the back who should get a fair few CS, Hazard in the middle and Costa up top.
Not exactly an answer to your question but just another way to look at it I suppose.

“Liverpool have been dealt an injury blow with the news that Philippe Coutinho will miss around six weeks with an ankle injury.”

Price going to drop again tonight I think.
