Stats, Stats and Some More Stats

Stats, Stats and Some More Stats As some of you know, I moved to the US last year from the UK. As an FPL enthusiast of many a year, one of the first things I noticed was just how huge the fantasy sports industry is over here. There are several fantasy sports programs on TV and there are regular sports programs (on the main sports channels) with sections dedicated solely to the fantasy side of the game. Imagine Gary Lineker taking 15 minutes out of Match of the day to talk about the players you should bring into your fantasy teams for the following week. Another thing that grabbed my attention ...[Read More]

Manchester City – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16

Manchester City – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16 [three_fourth padding=”0 20px 0 0″] View image | gettyimages.com [/three_fourth]Having finished 2nd in the Premier League and not won a single trophy, Manchester City will be looking to improve on a disappointing season and revitalize their title ambitions. Despite scoring *only* 83 goals last season, 19 goals less than the season before, City were still the highest scoring team and are extremely fantasy relevant due to their free-flowing, attacking football. Hence, I will take a look at what can be expected from City for the u...[Read More]

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Bamford, Lens, Mitrovic, Kaboul

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Bamford, Lens, Mitrovic, Kaboul Popular Eurovision beat combo, Bucks Fizz, once sang, “Don’t let your indecision take you from behind”. Wise words indeed. With barely a week left until the first ball of a new season is kicked, most FPL gaffers will be fairly settled with their squad. And judging by Twitter, everyone has pretty much the same squad anyway. But it’s landing on those final 2 or 3 places that cause the most anguish. Tick. 5 days left, and that 3rd striker slot is obviously Deeney’s. But wait… P...[Read More]

MLS GW22 Tips – Fantasy Major League Soccer

MLS GW22 Tips – Fantasy Major League Soccer This was an interesting week with the MLS All-Stars taking on Tottenham mid-week. But aside from that, we’ve had a completely normal week of fantasy football. No bye weeks, no DGW’s and no Cup matches to have to worry about. Last week was all about feast or famine when it came to picking a big-name captain. This week should be a little bit more weighted on quality squad selection though. Here’s what we’re looking at this week:

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Benteke

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Benteke Liverpool strikers managed a total of just eight goals between them last season, so the Merseysiders were always going to dip into the transfer market for a new striker this summer and it hardly came as a surprise that that striker turned out to be Christian Benteke. Liverpool’s transfer policy over the past 25 years has been questionable at best and one look at the signings made by Brendan Rodgers since his arrival at the helm would leave anyone scratching their head. It wouldn’t have come as a surprise had Liverpool’s owners dispat...[Read More]

MLS GW21 Tips – Fantasy Major League Soccer

MLS GW21 Tips – Fantasy Major League Soccer This last week saw some monster scores in the FMLS game — hopefully you were able to take part in the bounty. This week should see a return to more normal scoring levels as we’re without the benefit of a DGW, and two teams are on a bye (Colorado and NYRB). Without any further preamble, let’s get into what you need to know going into this week.

Interactive Fantasy Football Fixture Tracker 2015-16

Interactive Fantasy Football Fixture Tracker 2015-16 It’s that time again folks; T minus two weeks or so and counting! Many FPL players pick their initial team based chiefly on last season’s form, others on as many big names as possible (with the necessary accompanying threadbare bench), while yet others have a noticeable bias towards players from their supported team (Kop does NOT approve!). The serious FPL player will select their starting 15 based on a wide range of factors however, not least of which are the fixtures. With that in mind I’ve updated and improved the season...[Read More]
