The Pre-season Friendly Hub

The Pre-season Friendly Hub Pre-season friendlies have begun. The time of year where you sit down to watch a game and then it is ruined in the second half by subs being made every two minutes of the second half. You forget who is playing where and generally drift away to write an article about it! This happened yesterday – Preston North End v Liverpool had 43 substitutions and so as my interest waned, I checked out all the Premier League teams and how their pre-season either shaped up or had begun. From a fantasy point of view, it is worth while keeping an eye on these matches regardless of ho...[Read More]

Promoted team analysis – QPR

Promoted team analysis – QPR Today we begin a series of articles examining the three teams promoted to the Premier League from the Championship. Leicester won the league and automatic promotion quite emphatically in the end with 102 points which was 9 ahead of Burnley in second who also now join them in the top division. In contrast QPR were 22 points off the leaders but still managed to gain promotion via the play-offs courtesy of a Bobby Zamora Wembley winner. Surely such a point gap would suggest that that QPR will be the least well equipped to survive in the big league? Let’s f...[Read More]

Fantasy FPL Fixtures – the first 6 weeks

Fantasy FPL Fixtures – the first 6 weeks Welcome back! The good people at FPL towers teased us a little yesterday by releasing a player list and they did not disappoint by then launching the game we love in it’s entirety a few hours later. And so we have about a month to pick, re-pick, swear, curse and laugh at our at our teams until the deadline. Having seen many a gallant attempt at a feasible team yesterday we felt that the main thing missing, and the one thing that would be of the most immediate help to managers, was a quick fixtures overview for the first few weeks. As ever we...[Read More]

Fantasy FPL 2014/15 Transfer round up Part 3

Fantasy FPL 2014/15 Transfer round up Part 3 Having covered some of the more high profile signings in the last two articles today we look at some of the lesser known but none the less potentially important ones. It’s often the guys we know less about that can make a huge difference one way or the other to your early fantasy squads. They are usually priced kindly and should you get one or two right from the off then they can be fantastic value for money. Think Michu two seasons ago. Think Ramsey in the last one although we all knew him well we just didn’t all anticipate the step up ...[Read More]

Fantasy FPL 2014/15 Transfer round up Part 2

Fantasy FPL 2014/15 Transfer round up Part 2 We continue with our look at the major transfers this summer by focusing on another six players and how we feel their moves may benefit fantasy managers, whether they will be worth a look at and some of their key stats from previous seasons. Today we look at four players we are all already familiar with who will be looking to hit the ground running at pastures new and two players who are new to the EPL. At least one of them could prove to be the signing of the season and no we don’t mean Phil Bardsley.

As we eagerly anticipate the imminent launch of this seasons FPL game, many teams have been busy in the transfer market market already despite the World Cup distractions. Louis Van Gaal has wasted little time in beginning the rebuilding process at Old Trafford, Jose went early with Fabregas and Costa, Brendan has ripped the heart out of Southampton and even Arsene has jumped to it with the rather exciting purchase of Sanchez. Over the next serie...[Read More]

Fantasy World Cup Final Live Match Chat

Fantasy World Cup Final Live Match Chat And so it’s finally here, or at least it will be tomorrow. We have the most pointless of pointless games to get out of the way this evening as Brazil and Holland must somehow pick themselves up and face each other in the 3rd/4th place play-off. From a fantasy perspective though this one could be crucial as it is part of the final round of games.
