Pre-season Hub 2019/20 FPL season

Hello and welcome to the Pre-Season Hub 2019/20 season. A new season of FPL action is ahead and as some of you may now have become accustomed to FF247 will run an article detailing all relevant pre-season news focusing specifically on the team line-ups, goal scorers and assisters. This is the article and here’s how it works;

This article is a living document which we update daily during pre-season. The intention is to offer a one-stop-shop for all fantasy relevant pieces of information as we begin to assemble our new squads over the coming weeks and months.

I intend to personally update this as we go but as always, I’m not precious about it and your help is appreciated in copy/pasting all relevant and salient pieces of information against each team’s comment thread with reference to which game the information relates to.

Each team will be listed alphabetically, and a Hot Comment will be created for each one and kept in the usual place so that for example, all of Aston Villa’s or Sheffield United’s pre-season progress and team news is only a click away. To this end, all we ask is that you keep all talk of any particular team to their own comment thread – this makes it easier to follow the discussion and for any returning persons to locate all chat relating to that team easily enough – and that’s really it.

*Wolves are a big one to note here as they will begin their season competitively on 25th July as they attempt to qualify for the Europa League Group Stage proper where they will have to negotiate three rounds.
Second Qualifying round – above.
Third Qualifying round – 8th and 15th August.
Play-off round – 22nd and 29th August.

And that’s it – all we need now is to see how the managers begin to shape their squads and integrate new signings. We would advise you pay close attention to the end of the pre-season programme as that is when it is most likely to be the best indication of how the sides will line up come opening day.

Any questions, queries or observations please leave them in the thread for comment or open discussion.

Just swapped Kante and KDB for Bilva and Perez. I think that’s a cracking deal for Leics and can see him and Vardy doing serious damage to some defences.

Hey guys. Here’s my first draft. Really like B’mouth initial fixtures. Can’t seem to fit 3rd City player into the team. All are too expensive. Is 2 City and 2 Pool defence a good plan?

      Rosco says:

Hello mate, I’d wait on preseason, if Ake comes in for city there is a chance he’ll be cover for Laporte given they’re both left footers. Rest is pretty much the template other than Giroud so looks fine and dandy!

Hey Constantine team looks good need to see if Giroud can hold is place not very often he plays for 90 mins I like your MF & Def as Rosco says keep an eye on Ake good start

Looks good. I don’t like Ake either at Bournemouth or City and think Long is a waste of 0.5 A’s can’t see him getting much GT this season.

      Kralin says:

I’ve been pondering Perez and Ake myself.

Leicester’s fixtures are OKish, and Perez’s price is right, so he falls into an enabling punt type of player. Not the worst of gambles and he serves as a sort of placeholder should someone else emerge (maybe one of the cheap Chelsea options).

Ake – for you maybe Laporte could be demoted to Mendy and then that brings Coleman, perhaps, into view. But I do get the appeal of Bournemouth’s fixtures for the first couple of GW. You may want to have some sort of provisional exit plan sketched out.

Early? My first RMT was a week ago smile

It’s a nice looking team. I’ve not seen many teams with Firmino in them so that is interesting differential. Guess there’s a few things that could change, like Milivojevic if Zaha leaves.

Maybe Krul could be 4.0 fodder?

      mkencon says:

Milivojevic isn’t worth the money imo

      Zed Leppelin says:

Looks like you have some money in the bank, no? Only one player above 10m in the team yet somehow I get a feeling the money is not spent anywhere…

      Kralin says:

Your third sub will become the hottest property in the game if he starts regularly. Boy he would be very handy.

Like you I’ve thought about Firmino – I started with him last year – can’t quite make my mind up.

Zaha and Perez may be worth a think instead of Milivojevic (who isn’t a terrible option by any means); Moura too if you can stretch to that.

    Morning all

    Thoughts on Gomez?
Could be a bargain at 5.5m
Will he nail down a spot? Or is the extra 1m for VVD worth it?
