The Boot Room – Rate My Team GW 5 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League

Photo-02-01-2014-11-40-06-300x214 Game-week 4 is over and the International Break is under way, for many (including the FF247 team) this means wildcard time. So if you are looking for a bit of help on your new squad or simply feel the need to discuss any future transfers, you have come to the right place. We will also be receiving managers in need of a shoulder to cry on. Because frankly, after this 4 week span a tear or two is understandable.

So please feel free as ever, to post your thoughts, questions and feelings about whatever you want to, but in particular if you would like others to take a look at your team ahead of GW5 and beyond and offer their opinions. Please post or link it below and we are sure you will get plenty of feedback. Some of which may actually be constructive, but we can’t promise anything!

Too bad you’re 0.1m short of doing Depay to Pedro. Furthermore that squad doesn’t look all that bad. Bad luck mate. This early in the season it still doesn’t mean shit though. I’ve had 2 green arrow since GW2.

Had freaking 9 home players this GW and only got myself 41 points. LMAO! Nothing is as it should be. You might have put too much money in your defence, now I look at it. Four top 6 defenders is a bit much. Uniteds fixtures will be pretty terrible so I’d do Darmian for a cheapo and upgrade Depay or Payet maybe.

      Darmian&Depay -> C.Dawson&Pedro maybe?

i am a bit concerned about my formation

i basically play 3-4-3 meaning my 3rd striker has to be a premium. (at least a bit even if not a Kun) which Wilson should be
my front 3 atm are Kun Gomis and Wilson
but its my mid line up

Pedro Ayew Mane Silva(if i get him for Yaya) Mahrez
whom do i bench in such a case? Everyone s sort of fixture proof

is this an issue?? Like should i have a 5th mid such as Westwood or Wanyama or someone??

Just build teamvalue first. Worry about the team in 10 days. 😉

I don’t really see a problem but I do have Westwood as fifth mid, he actually had a few assist attempts and shots on target in the last game. So he ain’t all that bad for a fith mid.

        any sureshot potential price risers?

Wilson Ayew Kolarov Pedro should increase in price as it looks. Slowly though but yes

anyone else i need to get in?

the rest of my team is
        Myhill Butland
        Cedric Kolarov Gomez Francis Oxford

        • Raziel says:

Look at FFF and FPLstats for price rises. None of them are 100 percent accurate. FFF shows how much certain players in 1 hour, FPLstats is more accurate and totalfpl is inaccurate but does show how the NTI’s per day.

Think FPLstats is the most correct since it resets every day. If I player hasn’t risen last night FPL usually drop them back a few percent from 99,5 to 93,5, so the next day that player has to rise 7 percent instead of just 1. If you know what I mean? I think FFF doesn’t reset it. TotalFPL is way off, think they had Sanchez rising for a century already.

Players that are rising very hard right now are Gomis and Ayew (4/5 percent per hour). Also Pedro/Wilson. With a little bit luck Silva could go up twice before the next deadline, he’s at 98 percent now if he goes up tonight he still has 8 or 9 days to go up again.

Anyway, price risers aren’t the most important thing. You have to figure this shit out yourself but I think I helped you, sort of?

        • nishant says:

          That helped Raz. Cheers smile

      NIN says:

It’s a matter of value. If a squad member is going to be benched most of the time its usually a better play to have that player be a cheap one, releasing more funds to spend on players you’re going to be relying on week to week.

Why are so many wild carding so early?

It seems that many would rather wildcard than take a couple of hits. I don’t really get that, given the potential advantage of holding a WC until later in the season when injuries really mount up or DGWs start appearing. (Yeah. I know we have two).

I see the WC as even more valuable given the new rules on using your bench etc.

Setting up a team with a dgw bench? (Play approaching 30 players in a week)

Or maybe the all out attack option.

Ok. I’ll stop now. Thanks for reading!

    Cliffs: why WC so early?

      NIN says:

Hi James. I suppose it depends on how many problems there are in a given squad. A handful of changes likely doesn’t require a WC play but for multiple changes that will take 3+ GW’s,+ multiple hits to sort, then it’s justified, for me. 2nd WC not being restricted to January is a big plus too. Plenty have been played willy-nilly i think. I’ve played mine and i am glad i did.

      Raziel says:

Because you have to use it before the new year. Last one was a season wildcard and you could hold it till the end of the season. Now you get one for the first half of the season and one for the second half. So if your team isn’t set up to your liking, you are losing too much value or whatever reason you have, it’s not as bad as the last seasons where you lost it for the rest of the season. Now I don’t have to use my second WC in January. Get it? That’s my thinking anyway.
