The Boot Room – Rate My Team GW 5 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League

Photo-02-01-2014-11-40-06-300x214 Game-week 4 is over and the International Break is under way, for many (including the FF247 team) this means wildcard time. So if you are looking for a bit of help on your new squad or simply feel the need to discuss any future transfers, you have come to the right place. We will also be receiving managers in need of a shoulder to cry on. Because frankly, after this 4 week span a tear or two is understandable.

So please feel free as ever, to post your thoughts, questions and feelings about whatever you want to, but in particular if you would like others to take a look at your team ahead of GW5 and beyond and offer their opinions. Please post or link it below and we are sure you will get plenty of feedback. Some of which may actually be constructive, but we can’t promise anything!

Hey guys, how’s it going? Anyone thinking of dropping their Arsenal midfielder for a form player? Considering dropping Sanchez for Ayew with my FT with the thought of catching Ayew’s inevitable double price rise. Swansea have better fixtures than Arsenal over the next 4 matches and I could bring Sanchez back any time since he’s still at 11 mil and doesn’t look likely to rise any time soon.

Is that too risky with the international matches? I have a decent bench and no other injury concerns as of now, but that could all change before the next deadline obviously. I already have Gomis so this would be double Swansea attacking coverage. Thoughts?

If you dont have WC, and are doing that move to earn profit in pennies despite having Gomis as cover from Swansea, then you might as well have Depay for an entire season.

      • RedVT says:

Thanks B. Pennies eventually add up to dollars and with our 100M starting budget every little bit helps! Plan would be to hang onto Ayew for as long as he’s scoring points, and I think his price will keep rising like Mahrez week after week. If Sanchez/Hazard starts justifying their price tags then I’d re-evaluate and bring them in.

As far as Depay goes, I haven’t been overly impressed with him or United’s offensive potential really. Ayew is practically playing as another striker at times and is right there in the box fighting for the final ball. He was standing right in front of Gomis for his headed goal on Sunday, had he not been there Gomis probably would have put it away.

I wouldn’t be selling Sanchez anytime soon, he’s averaging 5 shots on goal per game already so I think it’s just a matter of time before he starts producing fantasy points.

      • RedVT says:

Thanks Andy and Mito, just getting back online and reading this now. Those are good stats for Sanchez, and to be honest if Theo hadn’t fluffed his lines and missed an easy tap in then Sanchez would have at least gotten an assist and 3 points. It’s frustrating watching our big money players not paying off though. This may be the year where some of the mid- priced form players actually keep pace with the usual ‘big guns’ over the course of the season.

    Hello Guys,

    I’m so doubt

Gomis 4 goals in 4 matches as same as wilson but Gomis just got 1 bonus point.

How does FPL calculate the bonus point?

    Thanks

    Hi guys,

A bit unlucky with my bench this week:/ looking to do one transfer for GW 5.. planning to wait matchday to make the changes, thinking:

Shaq –> Silva or Mata –> silva?

what you guys think any other clever ideas? 4.2M IB

      Andy says:

Well at least you started the right keeper 😉

It’s down to Silva or Sanchez as to who to bring in, I wouldn’t complain with either of them, I’d probably lose Shaqiri to do it but you could make strong cases for both Mata and Chadli to be the ones to lose out.

      The B says:

Take out Mata. Fixtures are becoming horrible. Shaqiri has nice fixtures coming up, and the added funds might allow you to upgrade Chadli eventually.

That’s a surprise given that Sterling came in at 9, I don’t think he’ll be making my team any time soon.

      • There’s a real danger that ManCity could become a new Arsenal (fantasy-wise).

With Aguero, Silva, Sterling, DeBruyne, Yaya, any goal/assist/bonus points will have be shared by five players. And that’s before you factor in Kolarov, Sagna, Fer, Kompany, Navas (off the bench).

Sure, if they win every match 3-0, it doesn’t matter… but what if the other teams start sitting back?

Not convinced that triple city is the way forward.

        • Andy says:

You might be able to get away without the treble but at this stage going without the double at the least looks like fantasy suicide, already being top of the goal charts is hardly surprising but the CS value also looks like seeing good returns, be careful what you wish for if you want to jump off.

Does this team need a wc? I don’t want to miss out on price rises from the likes of ayew/gomis/Wilson. What do you guys think?
