The Boot Room – Rate My Team GW 5 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League
Game-week 4 is over and the International Break is under way, for many (including the FF247 team) this means wildcard time. So if you are looking for a bit of help on your new squad or simply feel the need to discuss any future transfers, you have come to the right place. We will also be receiving managers in need of a shoulder to cry on. Because frankly, after this 4 week span a tear or two is understandable.
So please feel free as ever, to post your thoughts, questions and feelings about whatever you want to, but in particular if you would like others to take a look at your team ahead of GW5 and beyond and offer their opinions. Please post or link it below and we are sure you will get plenty of feedback. Some of which may actually be constructive, but we can’t promise anything!
KdB at 10m… Just wish I knew where Silva and him will line up?
Thinking Silva on the left, KdB middle and Sterling on the right behind Aguero?
Could just be KdB on the right though
Yep.
Aguero
Sterling, Silva, De Bruyne.
I think Sterling on the left, Silva in the middle and KBD on the right.
KDB*
Guess Im happy with Silva, Aguero and Kol in my team then
Reckon it’s either in the middle or on the right. Silva played on the right in the second half against Watford and might be more adept at playing out wide than KDB, so you might see Silva on the right and KDB in the middle.
If you were on a wildcard, which 2 keepers would you choose? Would you go for rotating or stick to 1 keeper to play out the season?
I wanted to do McCarthy/Hennessey, wondering whether to go for McCarthy/Speroni, also thinking of Schmeichel/Schwarzer…
Or maybe one of Cech/Courtois/Hart with a non playing 4m?
decisions decisions!
Crazy things going on in the transfer market! I always wonder why everything is left to the last minute!!
I went Cech and McCarthy myself.
Same confusion with me mate.
I was planning to bring Myhill, but with Lindergaard transfer, I don’t think Myhill will keep the first choice.
Looks like Jose Enrique might be joining the Baggies – that’ll be a good signing for them. One I might keep an eye on with the Pulis defence record.
So how does this work now?
Spain’s transfer window is closed, so no one from La Liga can be added or taken out?
England is open till this evening… who else?
Or am I wrong?
I think English teams can still buy players from other leagues such as La Liga even though their window is closed.
While we wait for the deadline, I’d like to remind everyone of the NFL Fantasy league that Chins will start up if enough people join. Here’s him explaining it. https://fantasyfootball247.co.uk/fantasy-football-live-match-chat-game-week-3-2/comment-page-11/#comment-264214
and here’s something to motivate you to join us. 😉
Looks like Real Madrid has decided not to appeal – De Gea stays at Manchester United….AWKWARD! What a mess! All seems rather odd to me…
United fans – do you think that de Gea will be a starter?
Presumably LVG will want DDG to start, but will feel he isn’t in the right mindset so will bench him….DDG will no doubt be disappointed and so his heart may not be in it for a while.
I think this whole saga will cause problems…can’t understand why things were left so last minute! Seems odd to me.
I reckon Real Madrid either had cold feet or just didn’t want to pay the money, would rather he come for less in January or for free at the end of his contract.
If he wasn’t in the right mindset before, he certainly won’t be now. Strange but not surprising behaviour from Madrid. They are what they are.
Of course you blame Madrid. Gotta blame someone for the utter nonsense that’s going on that wee club of yours. 😉
not biting!!!
You sure?
sure, I’d bite that
I wonder how the fans will feel when DDG now plays at OT. It was clear that he wanted out.
But honestly, United paying so much for this unknown striker is way more weird.
The unknown striker that Henry and Cantona have talked up so much?
Don’t really understand why fans get hung on prices paid. City can afford to pay huge amounts for KDB & Sterling, United can afford to pay huge amounts for ADM & now Martial. If the money is there and is affordable and legal under FFP, then it really matters not.
Of course it matters. Even Uniteds funds aren’t limitless, £36m on an unproven player is ludicrous when compared to other players that money could have been used for. Lacazette? In his prime, scoring bag loads and would have been cheaper. The price tag is going to put the lad under an immense amount a scrutiny just like Sterling. Its obviously objective as a fan, the money makes little difference in reality just what that money could have gotten you else where. Better than like me, being an Arsenal fan and having to sit back and watch Wenger spend NOTHING!
In United’s case right now it doesn’t matter – they have the funds for Bale but couldn’t convince him or Real (!!) to put a deal together. If Martial is the only striker they could convince (I’m not saying that is the case, maybe LVG and his team decided he is the right man, who knows?) then to get the player they have to pay the price. Is it a gamble? Yes probably. Will it come off? Who knows?
From what French ex-players have said this bloke is a brilliant young striker. They have a better idea than me.
Re Wenger – no comment!!!! I refrained from mentioning him above, but now you’ve brought it up 😉
