The DGW fixtures have been announced! Some of them…

Welcome to The DGW fixtures have been announced! Some of them….Having kept us in suspense for four days longer than we thought, the Premier League have at last started to release the dates of the rearranged fixtures. We now have a clear picture of DGW34, while the specific dates for the remaining fixtures still have to be officially revealed, although most indicators point to these matches being accommodated into GW37.

So, these are the rearranged matches that are now part of DGW34:

Brighton vs Spurs
Bournemouth vs Man Utd
Burnley vs Chelsea
Leicester vs Southampton

Therefore the following teams have two matches in DGW34:

Bournemouth (liverpool, MAN UTD)
Brighton (crystal palace, SPURS)
Burnley (LEICESTER, CHELSEA)
Chelsea (southampton, burnley)
Leicester (burnley, SOUTHAMPTON)
Man Utd (WBA, bournemouth)
Southampton (Chelsea, leicester)
Spurs (MAN CITY, brighton)

What else is there to know about DGW34?

The weekend after DGW34 finishes sees the semi-finals of the FA Cup which sees Chelsea vs Southampton and Spurs vs Man Utd. Given that all four clubs have a DGW34, it is possible that we see some rotation for their second match of DGW34, just days before their semi-final.

Liverpool have an attractive looking match in DGW34 as they host Bournemouth at Anfield. However, it may be worth noting that Liverpool go to Man City in the Champions League quarter-final 2nd leg just days before GW34.

What matches are left to be rescheduled?

Chelsea vs Huddersfield
Leicester vs Arsenal
Man City vs Brighton
Swansea vs Southampton
Spurs vs Newcastle
West Ham vs Man Utd

The Premier League has said that these matches will be rescheduled by Tuesday 3 April, i.e. just before GW33. The obvious week for all these matches to be rescheduled is GW37 as there is no European football scheduled for that week. It is possible, though unlikely, that some matches are rescheduled into GW35 or GW36. None of the matches will be added to DGW34. DGW37 really is the obvious week for all six matches and assuming this is confirmed, this will be the schedule for the DGW teams:

Arsenal (BURNLEY, leicester)
Brighton (MAN UTD, man city)
Chelsea (LIVERPOOL, HUDDERSFIELD)
Huddersfield (man city, chelsea)
Leicester (WEST HAM, ARSENAL)
Man City (HUDDERSFIELD, BRIGHTON)
Man Utd (brighton, west ham)
Newcastle (watford, spurs)
Southampton (everton, swansea)
Swansea (bournemouth, SOUTHAMPTON)
Spurs (west brom, NEWCASTLE)
West Ham (leicester, MAN UTD)

First glance observations (assuming the above is confirmed for DGW37)

DGW37 is bigger than DGW34 with 12 teams playing twice in DGW37 compared to 8 in DGW34. Does this offer a better opportunity for Bench Boost? On the face of it the answer is ‘possibly’, although by the time DGW37 arrives much may already be decided in terms of Man City winning the league, top four and relegation which could see teams rotate more than normal.

Chelsea, Leicester and Man City all enjoy two home games.

Huddersfield, Man Utd, Newcastle, Southampton all face two away matches.

Spurs face West Brom and Newcastle with Harry Kane likely back from injury. Remember how he finished last season? A possible Triple Captain candidate?

Either Spurs or Man United and very likely Chelsea (assume they beat Southampton) will be preparing for the FA Cup Final which falls a week after the end of the season. More threat of rotation….unless of course their top four spot is not secure!

Man City could be preparing for a Champions League final, Arsenal could be preapring for a Europa Cup final.

There are clearly lots of ‘ifs, whats and maybes’ – time will only tell. For those still to play their wildcard, maybe it pays to wait for as long as possible and act on the best possible information.

Whatever your position, thoughts and plans, please be sure to share your ideas on the chat below. This is the crucial part of the season – mini-leagues will be won and lost on how we play our remaining chips and tackle the DGWs. Every idea is worthwhile, everyone has their view – there is not necessarily a right and a wrong way.

WC’ers, are you planning to bring in hazard?

Hey all. hope everyone is having a good start to the weekend.

with the rescheduled fixtures half announced and the remaining 6 expected to fit in GW37, I have planned my potential squad for GW37 where I will be using the BB chip. I am unfortunately wildcardless and will being the TC in 34 and FH in 35.

The transfers I will do each week is shown in the excel sheet. I will have to take a minimum of 1 hit each GW to get a good enough squad.

Feel free to provide suggestions or improvements I can do to my squad. Might me hard for some of you since majority of you already have a WC in hand smile . Whilst my current strategy is not ideal, I am trying to get a rough squad for 37. If there are any players I should consider, let me know.

Team, thanks for the informative articles! Really helpful to consider all the options!
    My current plan is:
    -FH in 34
-WC in 35/36 to BB in 37
-TC somewhere in there… (still wishing I’d have gone Salah last GW as I was tempted)
So… which one player do I need this week that I don’t currently have?

I wouldn’t WC in 35 as half the DGW37 teams don’t play in it! But yeah, I’m thinking the exact same as you. Just don’t know when to play that TC! Salah against BOU in 35 is an option, or BHA in 38, but worried he won’t play or something!

      Aboomerang.

Mitro, I’ve been thinking either him or Lukaku. Leaning PEA for fixtures but I have Mkhi, so that tips it back toward Lukaku…
Also, I’m forced to play Pickford against City right now…

      • Smash10 says:

When you planning on using the remaining chips Mitro ?

        • Mitro says:

Currently thinking BB in 34 and TC in 37 but not convinced that is the best strategy at the minute, gotta a couple of weeks to decide! Just hope I can get my WC team set up properly.

          What’s your POA?

        • Smash10 says:

I don’t have triple captain but have free hit for GW35. Bench boost I can’t decide it looks potentially better in GW37 with some Newcastle/Swansea players but that’s a long way away so might just be safer to play it in GW34 with Burnley players

Am I right in thinking it’s not guaranteed Remaining fixtures will all be in GW37?

      Rosco77 says:

Nothing is guaranteed smasher, but it would be highly unlikely!
Hope you’re doing ok mate, great to see you still on here with everything you’re going through!

      inittowinit says:

Smash, enjoy your curry mate! It’s almost guaranteed that they will be as that’s the only other GW when midweeks aren’t occupied with European games. It’s happened before with an Arsenal fixture but they would have to have a dam good reason for UEFA to allow them to do it. Arsenal did as they were literally full up with cup games on the other ‘free’ weeks and their only other option would have been 4 games in 8 days. Swans and Newcastle don’t have such reasons.

  5. 29
    Pancho says:

A lot can change in a few weeks, but looking like 442 for me for DGW34. Gotta shave a few £s though, at least that’s what my wife is telling me smile
I don’t like going without Salah, even though he doe st have a double.
    Who am I missing that’s a must?

      Rosco77 says:

      You’re a brave man Pancho!!

What’s your thinking going without Salah?

Ps, think you just earned yourself a name-check in my fixtures article next week with that bombshell decision!!

      • Pancho says:

Rosco, it would just be for the one week as it’s my FH chip. First drafts had him in but his price keeps me from having one of Haz – Eriksen – Lukaku and I think for one GW I’d rather have those three with their DGWs.

      Red Robbo says:

      Hi Pancho.

You could free some funds by swapping Maguire or Vert for Lowton, who at least has two home fixtures, even if they aren’t great ones. I’d probably swap Vert since he lacks attacking points and plays Man City one game. That frees up enough for Azpi>Alonso if you fancy it and some spare change.

    Keethan07 says:

Looking at all fixtures, I just feel the top 4 (2nd, 3rd, 4th place ofc) fight should continue till the end of season, so United/Spurs/Chelsea shouldn’t rotate much during DGW37. As they all got atleast two tricky fixtures over the course, where they could drop points. Ofcourse it’s my pov and there are lot of ‘if’s and ‘maybes’ involved like mentioned in the article.

Or perhaps it’s just me convincing myself to TC Kane during GW37 (since he’s going for the golden boot too!) and not on Lukaku during GW 34.

    • 30.1
      Mitro says:

      Keethan,

I think you may be right that’s why I’m happy to keep my TC until then. At the minute lukaku doesn’t seem appealing to stick the TC on him

      • Mitro says:

Though every now and again he will pop up and prove me wrong

        • Keethan07 says:

Yes Mitro. Tbh I’ll feel more comfortable with Salah TC than Lukaku in GW34. But I’ll end up playing it on DGW player like Lukaku if I do opt for that route in GW 34.

My only issue is BB as even without Kane, my bench isn’t the best. So I can only imagine getting worse once he’s in unless I sacrifice a big gun in GW 37. Hmmmm…
