The DGW fixtures have been announced! Some of them…

Welcome to The DGW fixtures have been announced! Some of them….Having kept us in suspense for four days longer than we thought, the Premier League have at last started to release the dates of the rearranged fixtures. We now have a clear picture of DGW34, while the specific dates for the remaining fixtures still have to be officially revealed, although most indicators point to these matches being accommodated into GW37.

So, these are the rearranged matches that are now part of DGW34:

Brighton vs Spurs
Bournemouth vs Man Utd
Burnley vs Chelsea
Leicester vs Southampton

Therefore the following teams have two matches in DGW34:

Bournemouth (liverpool, MAN UTD)
Brighton (crystal palace, SPURS)
Burnley (LEICESTER, CHELSEA)
Chelsea (southampton, burnley)
Leicester (burnley, SOUTHAMPTON)
Man Utd (WBA, bournemouth)
Southampton (Chelsea, leicester)
Spurs (MAN CITY, brighton)

What else is there to know about DGW34?

The weekend after DGW34 finishes sees the semi-finals of the FA Cup which sees Chelsea vs Southampton and Spurs vs Man Utd. Given that all four clubs have a DGW34, it is possible that we see some rotation for their second match of DGW34, just days before their semi-final.

Liverpool have an attractive looking match in DGW34 as they host Bournemouth at Anfield. However, it may be worth noting that Liverpool go to Man City in the Champions League quarter-final 2nd leg just days before GW34.

What matches are left to be rescheduled?

Chelsea vs Huddersfield
Leicester vs Arsenal
Man City vs Brighton
Swansea vs Southampton
Spurs vs Newcastle
West Ham vs Man Utd

The Premier League has said that these matches will be rescheduled by Tuesday 3 April, i.e. just before GW33. The obvious week for all these matches to be rescheduled is GW37 as there is no European football scheduled for that week. It is possible, though unlikely, that some matches are rescheduled into GW35 or GW36. None of the matches will be added to DGW34. DGW37 really is the obvious week for all six matches and assuming this is confirmed, this will be the schedule for the DGW teams:

Arsenal (BURNLEY, leicester)
Brighton (MAN UTD, man city)
Chelsea (LIVERPOOL, HUDDERSFIELD)
Huddersfield (man city, chelsea)
Leicester (WEST HAM, ARSENAL)
Man City (HUDDERSFIELD, BRIGHTON)
Man Utd (brighton, west ham)
Newcastle (watford, spurs)
Southampton (everton, swansea)
Swansea (bournemouth, SOUTHAMPTON)
Spurs (west brom, NEWCASTLE)
West Ham (leicester, MAN UTD)

First glance observations (assuming the above is confirmed for DGW37)

DGW37 is bigger than DGW34 with 12 teams playing twice in DGW37 compared to 8 in DGW34. Does this offer a better opportunity for Bench Boost? On the face of it the answer is ‘possibly’, although by the time DGW37 arrives much may already be decided in terms of Man City winning the league, top four and relegation which could see teams rotate more than normal.

Chelsea, Leicester and Man City all enjoy two home games.

Huddersfield, Man Utd, Newcastle, Southampton all face two away matches.

Spurs face West Brom and Newcastle with Harry Kane likely back from injury. Remember how he finished last season? A possible Triple Captain candidate?

Either Spurs or Man United and very likely Chelsea (assume they beat Southampton) will be preparing for the FA Cup Final which falls a week after the end of the season. More threat of rotation….unless of course their top four spot is not secure!

Man City could be preparing for a Champions League final, Arsenal could be preapring for a Europa Cup final.

There are clearly lots of ‘ifs, whats and maybes’ – time will only tell. For those still to play their wildcard, maybe it pays to wait for as long as possible and act on the best possible information.

Whatever your position, thoughts and plans, please be sure to share your ideas on the chat below. This is the crucial part of the season – mini-leagues will be won and lost on how we play our remaining chips and tackle the DGWs. Every idea is worthwhile, everyone has their view – there is not necessarily a right and a wrong way.

A FH question-or maybe two. Do you lose accumulated TV when you pick your one-week team? Do you have your original TV the following week? Like many, I’m looking at FH in 35, and could imagine surrendering considerable TV in constructing the team, and would obviously hope it comes back?

This is what the site ruleds say so I think TV might change too but I could be wrong.

Hi Ki, as far as I am aware, you will get your old TV back, plus or minus any changes that would ordinary and naturally effectit in the background. You are effectively putting your current team on ice so I’d expect that back in the state it was. A few have played it though and some did so ‘in experiment’ on a 2nd team so they may know better.

I’m using FH on a fake team this week for purposes of one of the articles so I can always check the TV status before and after and let you know what happened at the weekend if need be.

        Init,

Many thanks. I am reading everything now; the discussion here been extremely helpful, especially the many permutations on the use of the various cards. I think I’ve got my somewhat unique situation figured, but I will pay careful attention to counter-arguments, as they appear.

I used FH last game week.
It worked during gw31 as if I had played Wild Card.
At the completion of Gw31 it was all wiped away and my gw30 squad & bank balance was back exactly as if I had made 0 transfers and just held the same squad throughout. (player values NOT frozen)
My Transfer history shows nothing for GW31

Only loss not mentioned in the rules is your FTs get zeroed, which was a bummer as I had 2 going in..
Still +450,000 OR gained from using FH, so the team is no longer total 5h17, merely 5h17

Is Kane laughing at our wildcard squads as he’s set to return for the Chelsea game? 😉

Hey guys. Not sure what to do here. I was thinking of getting as many dgw players for 34 as i can between now and then. Free hitting in 35, wildcarding in 36 and then using bb for 37. Any thoughts? Thanks guys.

    Swap Kane for PEA?

    Hi,

First time poster and long time lurker here – been following the site for a while and you always seem to have the best advice, so I finally decided I’d use it, as I am 3rd in my mini league and need a big final push to get top spot. (~50 points)
Still got all my chips, but used my wildcard earlier this week, and this is my current team (2.6m in bank)

For DGW34 I would be doing
    Mustafi > Davies
    PEA > Kane (0.0 spare)
    GW35 FH
    GW37
    Christiensen > Otamendi
    Salah > Sterling

    Then GW38 haven’t decided.

    Any thoughts?

      JMSFPL says:

Forgot to mention, it would be for BB GW37, TC probably 34.

    • 42.2
      AT says:

Hi JMS. Welcome to the site!

How many players would you have with two matches in 34 and 37?

      • JMSFPL says:

        Hi, and thank you!

If I did the transfers mentioned, then

        11 in GW34 (+ Salah)
        Every player in GW37

        • AT says:

Wow, really? Must say, I have not really looked into trying a WC pre-GW36 for a while as I deemed it too tricky to get a solid side out in both DGWs.

I’m not sure when Austin will be getting regular minutes again. He will probably go straight into the side if fit, but he has missed the last 15 matches!

I’m not convinced Davies will play both DGW matches. Any way of teasing out a few pennies to get Vertonghen?

      Smash10 says:

Team looks good. Obviously Austin is at a risk. Not sure on Stephens and Saints clean sheet potential even though they have doubles.
