According tot Sky, Manu pulls back from de Ligt; he seems on his way to Barca after all.
Changing the thread
So De Ligt is accepting a 350k per week offer from Man Utd with no Champions League for next season. Just a greedy player who will not improve United with the dross that will play alongside him.

Yet harp back two years when Dick Van Dijk joined your lot and pretty sure he has improved Liverpool’s defence somewhat.
United generate a stupid smount of money commercially – so much so they can afford to pay more than most. Sorry that may not suit your anti-United agenda but so be it.
Personally I’d be amazed if De Ligt chooses United but if he does it’ll be not just for the money but you can bet van der Sar and Blind are recommending it.
Whatever you think of United, and no-one has been a bigger critic of them than me this season, they are still a massive attraction for players.
That’s true Cookie,Van Dijk did improve the defence but the 2 fullbacks fitted in as well. First Gomez, then Matip have stepped up and benefited from playing alongside him. Fabinho took time but has blossomed as a DM. Can the same be said about Fred?Who would be the players to step up for Utd.
How much is Sanchez costing, and is he going to be shunted? Herrera has gone,De Gea is stalling,Lukaku is looking to Italy. I think Utd will need all the commercial money that they make to turn it around.
Is Ole up to it?
Ah c’mon Kruz – TAA only hit the big time this season, before and when DVD joined it was Clyne and a mixture of Moreno and a younger Robertson. And Lovren. So yeah TAA and Robbo have been superb this season, you found a half decent keeper and Matip has stepped up. Without doubt DVD has been the catalyst.
So, hypothetically could De Ligt do similar with a new right back, Shaw and Lindelof? Yeah, quite possibly.
Is Olé up to it? Only time will tell. Personally I’m amazed they haven’t gone for Poch and feel they’ve rushed the Ole appointment after a great honeymoon period.
However, and half knowledgeable United fan will tell you the problems lie deeper than the manager.
When Mourinho said coming 2nd with this group of players maybe his best achievement is telling.
The owners failed to buy Mourinho a centre back last summer. They are the problem and need shooting.
With a new owner, Woodward pushed to a commercial role only and the football side led properly and as a priority then I fear City will continue to pull away.
And if we’re not careful then Liverpool, Chelsea, Spurs and possibly even Arsenal may do likewise.

Therefore is de Ligt the guy to go all out for as Liverpool did for Virgil. Would that be the cure or just a sticking plaster? Are you really confident with Shaw Lindelof and An other? Young & Valencia are gone. What about De Gea who isn’t signing a contract.?Is Herrera the first Utd player to run his contract down and go elsewhere?
I haven’t got an axe to grind but I don’t want the Prem to go the same way as Spain & Germany where it is a 2 horse race. I hope last season was a freak and next season will be closer.
Kruz, don’t get me wrong, there are many problems at United – you have highlighted some, but not all of them.
You could argue that the Glazers have always been a problem but Fergie was great enough to win the Prem despite of them. Without Fergie we’ve been dreadful, let’s face it.
Regarding the playing side they need to get rid of the toxic players in the dressing room and replace them with players that genuinely want to play for the badge.
If one of those is De Ligt then fantastic because to answer your question, yes I believe he together with Lindelof, Shaw and a new right back will be infintely better than Young and Smalling.
Is it papering over the cracks? Possibly. But everything is cyclical and United are rebuilding after a magical 20 odd seasons.
Personally I’d get rid of Alexis and Pogba. If DDG goes then so be it, I’m happy with Romero. Lukaku remains a strange one to me – he looks more like the Incredible Hulk than a professional footballer these days.
I’m sad to lose Herrera.
I hope we buy Wan-Bissaka, this winger chap from Swansea and a proper midfielder. I don’t really know the candidates as I haven’t seen any European football this season.
Having no CL may be a blessing in disguise as it means the kids who are highly thought of can get some proper experience in the Europa and some league action.
I second Cookie’s thoughts here. That’s summed up almost.
Quick reshuffle into 3 Toronto players DeLion Altidore & Delgado should hopefully save my disaster with subs and NYR rotations this week.
Didn’t do very well on the MTL game but 46 points (so far) from my NYC players has kicked the score up a bit
Finished on 53 from my 3 NYC players
Normally I don’t like away players in MLS but this week looks thin so may be an LAX clean sheet may be the differential
So I got to 130k team valuation and now its back to 100k and start again!! What is the point of that? I suppose it keeps me going until the kick off in August and is better than fantasy cricket, ,women’s world cup and U21 something. But it really irritates!!
It’s certainly not better than fantasy cricket!
