World Cup Final and 3rd/4th Place Play-off Live Match Chat
Putin must be delighted at the thought of Europe’s finest taking over Moscow on Sunday. But it is what it is and the stadium will be covered in red and blue as France take on Croatia in the World Cup Final. These two have only met once before in the World Cup, in 1998, when the French triumphed 2-1 in the semi-final on the way to winning the trophy for the first and, to date, only time.
Croatia have never beaten France in their only previous five meetings, losing three and drawing the last two.
The 3rd/4th place play off sees England meet Belgium – a match dominated by Premier League involvement, unless of course Belgium make mass changes, which they may well do. The two have met three times previously in World Cup competition – in 1954 when the teams drew 4-4 in what must have been a tremendous game, in 1990 when David Platt’s last gasp goal saw England progress to the quarter-finals and of course in the group stages earlier in the tournament when both sides played their reserves in a 1-0 Belgium victory.
We will see the line-ups pre-deadline for the 3rd/4th place off match so maybe it’s best to wait to see which players are selected before making any transfers. It’s also worth noting that in the previous four World Cup tournaments there has been 17 goals in the 3rd/4th place play off compared to just 8 goals in the last four finals.
We are again allowed five free transfers and can now select a maximum of eight players from any one team.

Was a forced break and I actually did see some footie. According to Infantino this was the best worldcup ever? Hehe. Far from, as a neutral viewer. Only a few times dared to play actual football. Quarter final between France and Argentina was good, the semi between France and Belgium….. First matches of Croatia and even Russia.
England was a bit depressing too watch. No creativity. How you guys got so far is beyond me. But with the material you got, you did very well. Don’t think the team had more to offer than this. I wonder if there will be more creative players for England in the future.
And I am fine. Was very busy and will be very busy this vacation. Moving and have to finish a lot of documents for uni.
Ps. Belgium or Brazil were the most entertaining.

Ps. Belgium reminded me a little of the old Holland back when we used to deserve to go through the finals. Like 1998 when we lost to Brazil in the semi’s but were actually better. Omg and that Argeintina quarters with the sublim Bergkamp goal. Though Belgium did have pretty lousy games before the quarter finals, so techinically they just played 2 good matches. Todays match was also crap.

Yeah I don’t see it. Clyne and Gomez as competition screams rotation but if you have cover might be ok. He will probably drop in price when he don’t start the season as well
Yeah, not sure rotation is “the” risk. The worry here is to which one of those gets the spot. Once he does, he’ll be preferred and the other one plays europe and cups, etc. At least for the good part of the season. So, yeah, wait and see on who nails that spot and if it’s TAA buy him.

Felipe Anderson to West Ham. Scored four and assisted seven in 1150 minutes (three goals and five assists in ten starts) of Serie A football last season for Lazio.

I’m interested in a Hammers player to start the season. Right now it’s between this Anderson fella and Arnie. Only worry will be with West ham bolstering their squad will they rotate a bit more? Pellegrini isn’t the best at lineups. Remember the CL when he took Aguero off because he thought they had scored enough goals?!!!
If Arnie is playing as a striker it would be him for me. Those opening fixtures are so tough though
