Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 17 Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 17 article. Parachutes at the ready people, we are in free fall! Well ok, it’s not that bad to be fair but we did suffer our second consecutive slump in the rankings landing at 70,792nd with a total score last week of a poorly 43, 5 below the average. So what went wrong and which players do we need to take aside and have a word with and which ones do we need to take outside and dispose of?! Captain Kane against struggling Hull was a no brainer. With two braces in his previous two home games he would surely get at least that and more in this one. He brought home a captains duck of 4, and so set the tone for the rest of our numpties… Our top scorer was Walker with 11, followed by San...Read More

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 16 Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 16 article. Well, that didn’t go as planned. We had 8 guys earn 5 points or less this gameweek, that is usually not a recipe for success. However not everything was gloom and despair as among all the crappiness there was some FPL heroes that came to at least save us from total disaster. With the likes of Alexis, Kane, Firmino, Pedro, Walker and Cech one would not expect to be turning to a Swan and Hornet defender for the points. Amat and Holebas did what they could for us and rescued our dignity. Well them and The Prince of Darkness Diego Costa. Because with a bunch of misses everywhere on the team we did manage to captain our highest scorer. So thank you Prince Diego and our two defen...Read More

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 14 Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 14 article. Having fared poorly the previous week, as many did, we needed to bounce back this week and we did just that with a decent 68 points which saw us rise over 45,000 places and back up to a respectable overall rank of 34,512. Captaining Sanchez helped us massively, as did hanging onto Kun, which in itself feels like a feat given that 4/5 of the committee actually now admit that they sold him on their own teams! Other than those two, Austin got us 9 and Pieters brought a clean sheet and 6 but the rest were left wanting, it does go to show that you can still post a decent score if just a few of your troops turn up. Our big disappointment was of course our actual transfer as we had planne...Read More

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 13 Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 13 article. So we managed a scintillating 38pts last week which was two below the average. Despite again finishing below the average we were actually quite pleased with ourselves on Monday night. Going into the West Brom game with had just 19pts to our name. Step forward Allan-Roméo Nyom and Darren Fletcher. When we bought Nyom ahead of GW12 we didn’t expect him to be our highest scoring player but thanks to the clean sheet, an assist and two bonus points he finished up on 11pts (High five us!). Fletcher climbed off our bench to replace Gundogan and duly chipped in with a goal meaning he contributed 8pts to our total. The fact that the rest of our team managed 19pts between the nine of them sa...Read More

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 11 Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 11 article. If we said that six of our team all scored 3 points or less this week then you’d maybe expect that this would then lead onto a story of sorrow and despair. It just goes to show what having a minority of decent performers can actually produce though as we managed a fairly respectable 79 with a load of hallowed green arrows in all the right places. Cech, Walker, Pieters, Sterling, Capoue and Deeney are the players doing the walk of shame. Holebas, Firmino, Sanchez, Aguero and Lukaku can all hold their heads high, if they can shoulder the weight of our team. They carried us through to a small rise in the rankings from 57k to 39k. It’s not ground breaking but at this stage ...Read More

Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 9 Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 9 article. One Jose Holebas, there’s only one Jose Holebas, one Jose Holebas! We’ll come back to our favourite Greek in a moment. With the average score for GW8 being 39pts it’s safe to suggest that we weren’t the only ones to have a shocker. We ended up with 45pts which resulted in a red arrow dropping us to 66,878 in the rankings. To be honest it could have been worse. Our captain, a certain Sergio Aguero finished the gameweek on a minus score thanks to his penalty miss. We’re pretty sure that’s the first time our captain has contributed a negative score. So back to Holebas. Thanks to a goal, a clean sheet and three baps he finished with 15pts which was a massive 33% of our total. Elsewhere o...Read More

FF247 Site Team Game-week 5 FPL Tips Welcome to the FF247 Site Team Game-week 5 FPL Tips article. Well, that was fun while it lasted. Our rank took a proper beating last week unfortunately, so thank gawd our transfer of Costa worked otherwise we’d be in deep poo poo. We scored just 38pts in GW4 vs an average of 43, which saw us fall from a rank of 22,450 down to 78,944. There are very few highlights for us to be brag about – Costa was clearly the best performer with his 12pt return from a Sunday in Wales, while Baines chipped in with a clean sheet and two baps on Monday night at Sunderland. Zlatan was the only other performer who managed to notch more than 2pts as the Swede scored his customary goal in the derby but blotted his copybook with a reckless yellow card. Pape Souare ...Read More

A slab upon which to paint fantasy football glory. 15 slots to fill with the finest at our disposal. This should be easy then. Last seasons heroes go in first – Vardy, Payet, Kane, Bellerin, Cech, Ozil and Toby. Add in the best of the new arrivals and transfers- Ibra, Pogba, Feghouli, Miki, Stones, Redmond, Valdes and Mane and we should be good to go, yeah? Dead easy. Oh hang on, what do you mean there’s a budget? And a formation, you say? Back to the drawing board then… and the reality that you can realistically only have a small handful of the aforementioned stars. And the skill is not only in picking which of those to take but also in finding the bargai...Read More

Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 38

Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 38 Oh Andy! Andy, Andy, Andy… You big donkey. You have no idea how many seasons you wrecked last week! It was all there on a plate. Swansea on holidays and resting players, Man United struggling to defend crosses, you on a hot streak, 6 goals in the previous 7 games. And you decide to lay an egg on the all important ‘triple captain’ week for us. Thanks. It’s not even like your team didn’t score, they got 4 over the piece. Even an assist would have been appreciated, but no. And now everyone’s going to sell you this week in a fit of rage and you’re going to score 2 aren’t you, we just know it! Andy aside, our ‘DGW’ side had 8 players playing twice which equated to 19 chances as such. We scored 8...Read More

Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 37

Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 37 42pts! 42 lousy points! That’s not bad you say? Well it could have been so much better, but we’ll get to that shortly. 42pts minus the 4pts for the hit we took last week left us bang on the average of 38pts and gave us another red arrow dropping us to 139,998. Our hopes of a top 100k finish have taken something of a knock in the last two game-weeks and this in turn has placed extra pressure on us as we enter the penultimate game-week of the season. So where did those 42pts come from? As you can see we picked up 2pts from David de Gea but this really should have been 15pts from Karl! You probably won’t believe us but at approximately 8:30pm last Friday night a vote was held as to which of our keepers we would play and Darlow came out on top by three ...Read More

Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 36

Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 36 As Dinah Washington would have put it, what a difference a ‘game-week’ makes! From the highs of GW34 when we scored an impressive 173pts, GW35 certainly brought us back down to earth as we scored a paltry 39pts. As a result we picked up a red arrow as we slid back to a rank of 130,431. It is however our 2nd highest rank of the season. Yes we realise we are clutching at straws! With only seven games in GW35 it was never going to be a high scoring game-week but after a steady climb up the rankings we had hoped for more than 39pts. So where did it all go wrong? Well the fact that we only fielded eight players was certainly a contributing factor. We were down to the bare bones even before the game-week kicked off as our bench was made up of players who ...Read More
