FPL Tips Gameweek 6

FPL Tips Gameweek 6 Welcome to FPL Tips Gameweek 6 Sometimes in this life, no matter how hard you try, you just can’t compete. For instance, as good as he can be, Aubameyang will never be Henry; the Houses of Parliament’s morality will always fall far short of Andy Burnham’s relative benevolence. More to follow soon on that one… Anyway, enough of those loose comparisons, here’s what I’m basically trying to say: this Tips article won’t be ‘like’ (read: worthy of lacing the boots of) last week’s Tips article. Swirly did a truly magnificent job — custom-designed pitch graphics and all. I’ll be sticking to just a solitary phone screenshot and snaps from Getty Images that have minimal relevance to the points being made. ...[Read More]

Top Picks from the Promoted Three

Top Picks from the Promoted Three Leeds United, Fulham and West Brom are all back in the big time and already some names have jumped out as FPL bargains in the opening weeks. Here’s a look at some of the players from the promoted sides that have made a flying start this season and have provided excellent value for those who took a punt in the first handful of rounds. Patrick Bamford – Leeds United There were plenty of question marks surrounding Patrick Bamford going into the current campaign but the Whites striker has silenced many of his critics. Three goals in the first four games before the international break and Bamford showed why manager Marcelo Bielsa has such great faith in the 27-year-old, who already had 30 FPL points to his name at that point in time. 1️⃣st p...[Read More]

The Merseyside club, along with Aston Villa, are the only ones to remain undefeated. Everton have scored the joint most goals (12) and star...[Read More]

FPL Tips Gameweek 4

FPL Tips Gameweek 4 Welcome to FPL Tips Gameweek 4. The first and most important tip you’ll get this year is to buy players that are on penalty kick duties. This season has seen 20 kicks from the spot in the 28 games that have taken place. That’s an average of 0.71 awarded penalties per match. To put things in perspective 2018 saw 103 penalties for an average of 0.27 per match while in 2019 there were 92 for 0.24. Or of the interpretation (not) being made of them by the refs. Speaking of which, another interesting way of looking at this is precisely from the perspective of the referees who awarded them. So, it seems that Anthony Taylor has...[Read More]

FPL Tips Gameweek 3

FPL Tips Gameweek 3 Welcome to FPL Tips Gameweek 3 Hello. This was going to be my first dabble at Tips this season and ahead of GW3, I had planned to furnish you all with players I already owned as they were the ones that had gotten me off to such a good start and looked good for the foreseeable… and then FPL Gameweek 1 happened. After a poor and below average week 1 I recalibrated and prepared myself for the weeks ahead with a -4 by removing Son and Havertz for Rodriguez and Bruno. I was going to just go Havertz to Rodriguez but that wasn’t to be. Oh how I wish I could talk to ‘week-old-ago’ me! We’re now in a position at the end of Gameweek 2 where I am (yet again) below the weekly average – having mustered just 95 points in total – and have managed to escape the house ...[Read More]
