A few weeks back I lamented non-stop football with kick-off times spread over the course of an entire week. Well, I’m not sure what is worse, that, or what we have this week. City and Southampton offered plenty of goals to bring the curtains down on yet another DGW! Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW24 & 25 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW24 & 25. Another large H&L article has finally come to an end with the conclusion of GW20 and thus we have four more winners. Following on from winning in GW19, former H&L contributor DMC made it two on the trot by also winning GW20. DMC finished top of the pile on 11 pts. Although the poor lad is still in a legal dispute with FPL Towers over his t-shirt (long story, don’t ask!). He was pushed all the way by OddDane, Bejo, Otieno and MDB who all scored a brilliant 10 points. Only two people guessed that Zaha would be the first goal scorer and they were Bejo and Sherlock. Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW’s 20-23 GW19 is not quite finished but as far as this competition goes it’s as over as Liverpool’s title hopes (I jest of course). The reduced GW18 saw predictably low-scoring with just 2pts being the pickup for most of our competitors. However LittleRedLacazette mirrored his impressive FPL form to take top-spot with 6pts with 2nd place shared among the masses – AllanBrallan, Padster, Elderzadi, Sweetbluetoffee, Eplnoob, Coys, Qwkliduzzit and Perun. With the quick turnaround, we’ll keep things short and sweet this week and dive straight into the winners! First place in last weeks predictions was a tie between Shinespark and Hammerfan who both netted 10pts. Whilst Shinespark guessed first goal scorer Klich, his prediction of the 49th minute was not as close as Hammerfan’s 12th-minute prediction, which was enough to seal the deal for him. Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW12 Welcome to Harry and Lloyd’s Fantasy Predictions GW12. Crystal Palace’s 1-5 win away to West Brom was the only match to break too far away from the expected norm. We had the usual smattering of 2-1’s (although both technically 1-2’s), just three clean sheets (the usual suspects in City, Liverpool and Spurs) and just a solitary draw (Burnley v Everton). It’s only taken 10 weeks but I think we can finally say with confidence that results have returned to the mean. 2-1 is a classic scoreline and normally the safest prediction in any given match, this week we had three of them. Throw in a 1-1, a couple of 1-0’s and the annual Man City 5 Burnley 0 and things look positively, well, normal. No team scored more than 3 goals and those crazy scorelines that will forever be synonymous with lockdown will soon be a thing of the past, much like Zoom calls, hand sanitizer and working in your kecks. Villa winning 0-3 at the Emirates, and Palace scoring 4 were the only real shockers in terms of results in GW8. Meanwhile, it’s been a lonnnnnnng international break, punctuated with made-up injuries and so many positive Covid tests that even a drive to Barnard Castle will likely not be enough this time.
