Transfer Deadline Signings – Anthony Martial and Nikica Jelavic

Transfer Deadline Signings – Anthony Martial and Nikica Jelavic Late on in the transfer window saw the arrival of two strikers into the Premier League. One is a young, largely unknown French striker, while the other is a seasoned Premier League forward who has just joined his third top flight club. We are of course, talking about Manchester United’s Anthony Martial and West Ham’s Nikica Jelavic. Martial joins the Reds from the sunny climes of Monaco for a decent fee with almost as much as add-ons also – the 19 year old has just been called up to the French squad and despite his age and “raw talent”, is expected to bring some much need pace and energy to a lethargic United attack. Jelavic joins the Hammers from relegated Hull and will be looking to beef u...[Read More]

Transfer Deadline Signings – Glenn Murray and Virgil van Dijk

Transfer Deadline Signings – Glenn Murray and Virgil van Dijk Well then, we were waiting on a bonanza of big name signings so that we could pepper this quiet FPL week with a flurry of articles about world class stars turning up on our FPL doorstep with millions in their pockets and fantasy point potential oozing from their gold encrusted boots… And so we begin with Glenn Murray and Virgil van Dijk. Which just about sums up deadline day in all honesty. Hey ho, that’s the way the cookie crumbles sometimes but either way your beloved Potty was the first to put his hand up and we all know how he loves a differential underdog so we weren’t really surprised that he actually took to this particular deadline day letdown like a pig in… you get the picture. Over to the ...[Read More]

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Cabaye, Alderweireld, Behrami, Ogbonna

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Cabaye, Alderweireld, Behrami, Ogbonna No time for waffling intro’s this week chaps and chapesses. My pleading at the management’s door has finally paid off and I’ve actually got some decent / interesting players to review! So, I’ve focused all of my efforts on bringing you some high quality (moderately decent, sort of League One standard) info, and I’ve actually left my intro writing until last. Which is weird for you reading this, as clearly this is the first bit you’re reading. But trust me, as I’m typing this, I can glance down the page and see all of my player reviews already written up, spell checked(ish), and validated for obvious plagiarism. No time for big build ups to disappointing intro punchlines this week. And no fluff...[Read More]

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Sterling

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Sterling Manchester City have been relatively busy over the last couple of weeks bringing in Fabian Delph & Patrick Roberts, although it remains to be seen if they join the likes of Scott Sinclair and Jack Rodwell on the list of players who have ruined their careers by moving to the Etihad. One player who is highly unlikely to join that list is Raheem Sterling. Having had their first two bids rebuffed by Liverpool they finally got their man, breaking the transfer record for an English player in the process. In all likelihood there will be another couple of arrivals at The Ethiad but even if there’s not, the arrival of Sterling and his hippy crack has significantly improved the City squad.

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Cedric, Stekelenberg, Fuchs

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Cedric, Stekelenberg, Fuchs Before we get into previewing the latest batch of international superstars joining our beloved Premiership, I want to say first how great it is that the new fantasy season is nearly upon us. The excitement is really building. It’s been brilliant reading the boards over the last couple of weeks as the regular names/faces return to the site after their long break. And some new faces too! It’s like spring time. The snow has gone and the little green shoots are starting to appear. The little baby rabbits are emerging from their holes. What’s this? A wonderful new world? A time to start a fresh? Such a wonderfully positive time. Do I dare to dream that this could be the year? The year I’ve been laying in my hole th...[Read More]

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Mings, Distin, Atsu

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Mings, Distin, Atsu ***FREE BOOZE**** ***SEX THINGS*** ***CASH GIVEAWAY*** Right, quick, lock the doors Mito! Ok, now that I have your attention and the Colombian Mafia have the exits covered, I can tell you that this isn’t going to be the most exciting list of new arrivals you’re ever going to read. Sometimes life just deals you a rubbish hand. Sometimes you get the shitty end of the stick. And sometimes, you accidently park your car in Cookie’s space on the same day as he’s deciding who gets to write up which new players. So then, let’s see what you make of this lot…

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Bamford, Lens, Mitrovic, Kaboul

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Bamford, Lens, Mitrovic, Kaboul Popular Eurovision beat combo, Bucks Fizz, once sang, “Don’t let your indecision take you from behind”. Wise words indeed. With barely a week left until the first ball of a new season is kicked, most FPL gaffers will be fairly settled with their squad. And judging by Twitter, everyone has pretty much the same squad anyway. But it’s landing on those final 2 or 3 places that cause the most anguish. Tick. 5 days left, and that 3rd striker slot is obviously Deeney’s. But wait… Patrick who? Oh. Well he’s the one. Tock. 2 days left, Mitrovic. Mitrovic! Maybe. Tick. Then those final minutes; the painfully slow logging in as the Premier League website grinds to a Berbatov-...[Read More]

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Benteke

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Benteke Liverpool strikers managed a total of just eight goals between them last season, so the Merseysiders were always going to dip into the transfer market for a new striker this summer and it hardly came as a surprise that that striker turned out to be Christian Benteke. Liverpool’s transfer policy over the past 25 years has been questionable at best and one look at the signings made by Brendan Rodgers since his arrival at the helm would leave anyone scratching their head. It wouldn’t have come as a surprise had Liverpool’s owners dispatched with the services of Rodgers over the summer, and one thing is for sure, if Benteke isn’t a success over the coming season Rodgers will be sent packing next May!

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Richards, Johnson, Okazaki, Wijnaldum

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Richards, Johnson, Okazaki, Wijnaldum Newton’s 3rd law of Fantasy Football. For every expensive player you have there is an equal and opposite cheap player. Like it or not, FPL managers are going to have to fill out their squad with some pretty unfashionable players. For every Eden Hazard there must be a Graham Dorrans. Spent £7m on Ivanovic? Here, have this bench warming Reece Oxford. You’re welcome. It’s buy one get one cheap. Balancing the budget is one of the most frustrating, yet ultimately fascinating aspects of the game. So roll up, and take a gander at today’s car boot sale featuring Micah Richards, Glen Johnson, Shinji Okazaki and Georginio Wijnaldum. Offer ends August 8th.

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Juanmi

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Juanmi Well after getting my arm twisted just a bit, I joined in on the new signings fun. I present to you Juanmi. Is he really deserving of an article and with picture included all on his own? Probably not, but this is due more to my laziness than Juanmi’s talent. Besides I have to go colour in some trackers and what not. So here you go fantasy fans, we present the giant Juanmi.

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Milner, Ings, Firmino

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Milner, Ings, Firminho Liverpool were poor last season, actually they were worse than that but for the sake of our younger readers let’s stick with poor! Their defenders made a catalogue of errors over the course of the season, while up front they struggled for goals. It therefore comes as no surprise that Brendan Rodgers has been busy in the transfer market, although as we’ve seen in the past this is not necessarily a good thing! They’ve replaced Brad Jones with Adam Bogdan whom unsurprisingly we won’t be covering in one of these articles, 18 year old centre back Joe Gomez has arrived from Charlton and as he’s likely to be one for the future we won’t include him either. We took a look at Nathaniel Clyne in an earlier article and today w...[Read More]

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Cech, Sinclair, Clyne, Falcao

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16. Cech, Sinclair, Clyne, Falcao It’s been a while since we last talked, my friends. Too long. I hope you have found the MLS (and our FF247 Fantasy League) to be suitable entertainment during the summer. Or perhaps you fancy cricket and are watching our very own Tekno light up the fantasy cricket world? Or maybe you are doing both. If so, you are likely a fantasy addict and worry not: there are support groups for that kind of thing. On this website we call them the comment section. And as much as I dislike having to follow the much-talented and ever-eloquent Gallant Pioneer and the effervescent inittowinit, I will attempt to do so nonetheless. Here are a few more transfers we think you should know about:
