Euro 2020/21 Fantasy Football

Welcome to the FF247 hub for the Euro’s. As per our Champions League article this shall be the main place for the duration of the comp and will act more as a destination to gather and discuss it all, rather than being anything of particular fantasy use.

What you need to know

How to play?
You have a couple of options here;

Click here to join via a desktop or webpage.

Alternatively you can simply update your UEFA Games App (the one you may have used for the CL) and it will show up as a dual purpose one with the Euros game on there.

The Rules
This game is exactly as per the CL one with in-game matchday-by-matchday substitutions and Capo changes available between each day.

We expect most of our league members will be au-fait with these rules but if you are unsure then simply ask in the comments below and somebody will always be on hand to explain further.

Or simply click here for the full explanation.

Hints, tips, squads, line-ups etc…
For once UEFA have actually made a pretty good job of this and so we won’t be bothering to post any of the above as articles as it is pretty much all there for you. They have the entire raft of squads posted on both their website and on their official App along with a run-down on every single team.

The FF247 League
We are not running a ‘public’ league for this one, we are keeping it in-house for the summer fun and as such we have our usual ‘Regulars League’. We did post the league code in the comments section previously but this has now disappeared. The good news is that the majority of our usual CL crew saw it and have already joined,

For anyone who didn’t then simply drop us an email on;

contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk

All we ask if you enter the league is that you please keep the code to yourself and don’t divulge it to family or friends who do not frequent the site. This is for the FF247 Community who will be commenting and interacting on here and we would like to keep it that way. Ivan (The Terrible) will be keeping a watch and if you do then expect to be dealt with harshly!

Thanks for reading Euro 2020/21 Fantasy Football

OK, some RMTs then, which team below, team 1 or 2 and indeed any other ideas.

Rodri likely starts, Bastoni is risky. Depends how much Chiellini plays.

Well my break from fantasy football didn’t last long. Don’t know if I’m addicted, a glutton for punishment, bored or madly in love with fantasy but I’ve spent a few hours today and created a team I’m 14/15 players happy with. Until it all goes pear shaped with these friendlies. rofl

I have two Austrians in my team at the mo and I’m already thinking of getting them out after last night’s showing! Mustn’t rush to conclusions, of course…. mosking !

      • MattX says:

I have two as well actually. I didn’t watch the match were they that bad?

        • OddDane says:

Not bad imo, but not very attacking. They were also unlucky woth a shot on the bar. Plus, not 100% strongest line-up. Wait and see smile

        • MattX says:

Oh I’m not making any changes yet as one another friendly to play plus they start against Macedonia

        • Loud Atlas says:

Alaba was on the wing which didn’t help – he probably needs to be more central to have an effect. Arnautovic didn’t play, either. But I’m not convinced he’ll be a game changer. But North Mac’ are first up so anything could happen!

        • MattX says:

Yeah it’s more the fixture I’m looking at for Arnie. If I knew for sure that Gerard Moreno would start I might go with him instead.

    Switzerland 7 – 0 Liechenstein (friendly)

Gavranović with a hattie today. Yes, it was vs Liechenstein, but he’s 7.5m! declare

It’s still Liechtenstein mate. He could have scored all 7 and I still wouldn’t be too interested. Wales, Turkey and certainly Italy will be much harder tests.

    P. Torres 4.5def starting for Spain tonight. Simon is starting in goal and may be first choice over DDG.

Saw this. That Spain line up looks pretty first team. I’m torn on Donna and Torres or Simon and Bonucci

      • Funny, when I looked at the Spanish XI I thought there was 4-5 guys that might not start.

Torres is starting and he is cheap. I do wonder about him though and Laporte starting together. Have barely ever seen a team start two left footed CBs, maybe that doesn’t matter that much as two right footed CBs start together all the time.

Sarabia and Morata are also iffy to start. I would also say that Gaya is also in the same boat and Llorente starting at RB doesn’t feel right at all, not that he won’t start, just that it should not be there. Also think Unai is not 100% guaranteed, but probably not as iffy as the others.

        • Almost forgot, Thiago and Fabian Ruiz are also iffy. declare

        • MattX says:

Yeah sorry just noticed the line up on my app hadn’t updated and it was a predicted line up they were showing me. Looked again and I’d agree there is about 3 I’m sure wont play and another 2 I’m not sure on.

Gaya will lose his spot to Alba. Fabian will probably be left out too. Sarabia I’d never heard off and I’ve heard Olmo will likely start on the wing with Torres on the other. Morata is one I’m not sure on. It seems fans want Moreno but the manager seems to prefer Morata.

        • Stone Frog says:

It’s going to be Torres or Garcia (both 4.5m). I would put Torres as favourite at the moment.

        • If it was Garcia, they could be starting a CB pairing who doesn’t have either start at club level and a right back who doesn’t play right back. laugh

      • Fans want Moreno because he is the better player. Luis Enrique is from the Fraudiola school of hard headedness so who knows if he will give in or persist with Morata. Moreno could also play on the wing.

You just can’t play that slow arse midfield together with 3 guys who want the ball at their feet and dictate play, but not a single one of them wants to run the channels. On top of the fact that when they do lose the ball none of the 3 are great at recovering it.

Another option is to get LLorente up the field (in a different position), he is a bit more direct and will make them runs.

Why is Spain pissing me off? dash

Ronaldo is a great player and great captain option. However playing in the last day of 5, surely somone else will have returned well and you will decide to stick rather than twist on the captain at some point. Therefore if you are unlikely to get as far along as to captain Ronaldo, is he worth the money?

I haven’t had him in a single draft and I don’t plan on having him at all. One of the main reasons is exactly for what you pointed out.

      Loud Atlas says:

The BBC have done an interesting piece on him as he heads into the tournament. He’s chasing a few records, so could be worth it:

      – one more goal to be top scorer in the Euros (he and Platini are tied on nine).
      – could be the first person to play in four Euro semi-finals.
      – chasing all-time record for most goals scored in men’s international football (he’s on 103; Iran’s Ali Daei has 109).
