Euro 2020/21 Fantasy Football
Welcome to the FF247 hub for the Euro’s. As per our Champions League article this shall be the main place for the duration of the comp and will act more as a destination to gather and discuss it all, rather than being anything of particular fantasy use.
What you need to know
How to play?
You have a couple of options here;
Click here to join via a desktop or webpage.
Alternatively you can simply update your UEFA Games App (the one you may have used for the CL) and it will show up as a dual purpose one with the Euros game on there.
The Rules
This game is exactly as per the CL one with in-game matchday-by-matchday substitutions and Capo changes available between each day.
We expect most of our league members will be au-fait with these rules but if you are unsure then simply ask in the comments below and somebody will always be on hand to explain further.
Or simply click here for the full explanation.
Hints, tips, squads, line-ups etc…
For once UEFA have actually made a pretty good job of this and so we won’t be bothering to post any of the above as articles as it is pretty much all there for you. They have the entire raft of squads posted on both their website and on their official App along with a run-down on every single team.
The FF247 League
We are not running a ‘public’ league for this one, we are keeping it in-house for the summer fun and as such we have our usual ‘Regulars League’. We did post the league code in the comments section previously but this has now disappeared. The good news is that the majority of our usual CL crew saw it and have already joined,
For anyone who didn’t then simply drop us an email on;
contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk
All we ask if you enter the league is that you please keep the code to yourself and don’t divulge it to family or friends who do not frequent the site. This is for the FF247 Community who will be commenting and interacting on here and we would like to keep it that way. Ivan (The Terrible) will be keeping a watch and if you do then expect to be dealt with harshly!
What about Bruno for Portugal?
He is benched, tactical or not a first choice?
I’m not the Portuguese expert but I’d say just tactical. Bruno isn’t really an option for me in this game as he tends to play deeper for Portugal and he won’t be on pens or frees so loses a lot of appeal.
Yeah, don’t think he is an attractive option like in the FPL. All I remember he played one game at the world cup in Russia and scored a single goal. Mind you, that was against Spain in the group stage
Portugal also has several starters out. All the guys who played in the CL or Euro final didn’t start.
That’s true. Like it was difficult to judge team England without the two Manchester and Chelsea clubs players who weren’t allowed to play because of the recent finals.
Long time – no post.
Hope we’ve all been enjoying the 2 days of summer we’re getting!
Really stuck on midfield options, I don’t see much of value 7m and below to the point I currently have Dan James and a Turkish midfielder for 6m.
Anybody got any nuggets of gold/wisdom around this price bracket?
My thinking is I would want these two types of mids to be playing within the first 2 game days to sub out for the bigger guns if need be?
Yes midfield is a bit tough, especially if you want some reasonably priced options. In the 7m and below bracket, Berghuis could be OK. Alaba could be value, but don’t expect too much.
Yeah I think what I’m looking for really is an attack-minded player for a weaker team really but nothing stands out yet. Maybe berguis might be worth a punt. Not sure where alaba plays for the national team?
@Webstar, you could look at any possible Italian options since we see their team sheet before the deadline. Say whoever starts between Chiesa or Berardi. One is 7 and the other is 6.
The Ukrainian Malinovskyi looks a decent option and he plays in a group that probably plays somewhere in the middle of the gameweek.
Think Alaba’s first fixture makes him reasonable also.
I didn’t realise we get a sneak peak. I’ve already got Berardi in alongside bonucci so maybe if Chiesa starts then that’s the problem solved.
Deadline is always the actual KO time so we always see the line-ups at least an hour in advance for each Matchday (GW to us) and indeed each day inbetween (for subs and Capo changes).
I was listening to the BBC’s Daily Euros podcast earlier today and they mentioned several names. The one that stood out was Dutchman Ryan Gravenberch (5m), but as a holding midfielder he might not be great as a fantasy prospect.
I admit I only know of gravenbach through fifa 21 but like you said, I think he’s a tradition cm/cdm rather than an attacking player.
To answer your question about players at around 7m:
– Mount, ENG, 7m
– Kimmich, GER, 6m
– Tielemans, BEL, 6.5m
– Souček, CZE, 6.5m
– Kroos, GER, 7m
– Chiesa, ITA, 7m
Zielinski Pol 7m could also be worth a look.
Simple question, are there bonus points in this game (3,2,1) as in FPL?
Unlike FPL,UCL and Bundesliga, sadly there are NO baps here
Here’s the points system. Very similar to ordinary FPL but with a few differences.
Pity they didn’t bring the ball recovery points rule from Champions League Fantasy (defenders get points for defending!).
Still, you can’t beat the Bundes points system
Yeah I like that! I’ve never played it though.
70+ mins for 2 points is harsh though!
UK readers: the Daily Mirror has a Euros supplement in it today and in tomorrow’s edition there’s a wall poster.
(Internet tells me, I’m going to look out for a copy shortly!)
Guardian did a lengthy post too:

My latest draft with the limitless chip in the pipe for MD 2
If KDB is declared unfit in the next few days, most likely it will be F. Torres
Captain projection
11.06-Chiesa
12.06-KDB
13.06-Alaba/De Jong
14.06-Lewandowski
15.06-Ronaldo
Very interesting Ivan. I also plan limitless GW2. The drafts are very different though. I found the cheapish mids the challenging area.
Lukaku and Kane have very high ownership.Going without is risky but could bring rewards with Lewa and Ronaldo.
SF, you are right about those two and that the ownership is very high. The thing is that I don’t like their first opponents. Russia might not score many but usually have a strong defence.
Croatia are going to give a tough time to England in the opening game, remember what they did to them in the last WC
Belgium beat Russia 3-1 and 4-1 in Euro qualifying back in 2019, don’t forget .
And Serbia thrashed them 5-0 back in November. Russia have been a little tougher and tighter since then but not impressively so (W3 [vs Malta, Slovenia & Bulgaria], D1 [vs Poland], L1 [vs Slovakia]).
I thought about bringing in Kane, but did not for the reason you mention. Currently on Luka, Depay and Ronnie.
Do have Mount who I want to move out…maybe for Olmo? Mids are difficult to call.
Hope you are having a good summer Ivan!
I’ve got both but would love to squeeze either Ron or Lew in too. As the old maxim goes: we can’t have them all!
Rather than Ron I’ve gone for Jota and instead of Lew I’ve got, erm, Szczęsny .
Good plan, Ivan. I’m going with Insigne for Cappo first up, then I’ll see where the wind takes me (Lukaku then Kane probably).
Limitless chip does sound appealing for MD2! Especially with targeting the FRA vs HUN match. Or I might save it for MD 3: *ITA vs WAL, MKD vs NED*, FIN vs BEL*, SLO vs ESP* and GER* vs HUN.
(*Target players from those teams, but it depends what’s to play for by that stage)
Latest draft below. Will play limitless GW2.
Capos: Lukaku(/Eriksen)-Deepay-Soucek!-Ronaldo.
Looks good SF! I’m keeping an eye on NED’s final friendly tomorrow before trying to getting of them in my side. Strong front three! Anything left in the bank?
