Fantasy Football 247 League Updates
Welcome one and all to the August round up of the FF247 leagues. I hope eveyone had a good summer, enjoyed the World Cup and has come back fighting fit for the turmoil which is the Premier League for 9 months. So as quick as we compiled our teams for GW1 of the 2014/15 season then the first month is over already would you believe it so lets find out which fantasy teams got off to a flyer :- [clear]
FF247 Overall League
1st—216pts–Blame it on Debuchy—Tom Farmer.
2nd—212pts–SupADISKlOneMoREtiME—Simon Maytham.
3rd—205pts–Societa Esportive—Boblewo-Garutti.
4th—204pts–Mr Bean–Adam Hodgson.
5th—203pts–Knights–M Junaid Ameer.
This will be the league to win as you have to maintain consistency over the whole season. Congratulations to Tom Farmer who leads the way with a total of 216pts followed by Simon Maytham 4 pts behind on 212, the next 3 places were filled by Boblewo-Garutti, Adam Hodgson and M Junaid Ameer, only being seperated by 2pts.

FF247 Manager Of The Month
1st—204pts–Mr Bean–Adam Hodgson.
2nd—203pts–Magnet Under There FC–Jack Ellis.
3rd —203pts–Knights–M Junaid Ameer.
4th—194pts–Syrians–Ghayth Jouma.
5th—193pts–FC Starbar–Starbar.
The monthly prize was a close run race with Adam Hodgsons team ‘Mr Bean’ winning by just one point, pushing the teams of Jack Ellis + M Junaid Ameer into joint 2nd with their respective teams. 4th + 5th places went to Ghayth Jouma + Starbar with 194 + 193 pts respectively

FF247 Doubles League
1st—176pts–Aditupem–Init + Elleffcee.
2nd—175pts–Belly + Clyne–Chins + Calvin.
3rd—172pts–Indecisive Warriors–Kop + Floydeth.
4th—166pts–Potty Morbid FC–Potty + Morbid.
5th—165pts–Potty As A Jock–Potty + Gallant Pioneer.
The doubles League has just 11 teams but will be fought tooth and nail until next May, the team that wins this prize will be the outfit that has fewer tiffs. After 3 GWs, it has last seasons champions Aditupem surprisingly top of the pile, but only by 1pt from Chins + Calvin who in turn are only 3 pts ahead of Kop + Floydeth. You may notice that in 4th + 5th place are two teams with Potty in both, he appears to be going along steadily with both partners, we wonder if they know they are being two-timed?!

You know what Raz, and I know this may be terrifically controversial, but….. I hope not. It makes things proper old school, and steers it way from being a ‘stock exchange’ game. Apart from last season, my best ever season was completely in the dark (pre FISO) and it was quite exciting not knowing if a player was gonna go up or down in price. The King is dead, long live the KING!

Personally, I hope that it does get sorted. It was a fantastic tool last season and helped to introduce the skill element of getting the timing right of the transfer, as well as everything else. I’ve already found I can’t do a transfer I’d like to, thanks to a price rise happening that I was unaware of.
But surely there’s no skill element to timing a transfer when the timing of the price rise is dictated to you. I like the rough and ready, toe to toe rawness of fighting in the dark. It makes it more like poker and less like a maths exam with all the answers filled in.
Ok so I’m coming in hours after this thread, but I agree SOOO much with you Herr Munich that I am herewith giving a massive +1.
1. Falcao, Ramsey, Jones
2. Aguero, Di Maria, Moore
I prefer the 2nd one Mighty Whites. Depends who your other two strikers are though. In Di Maria and Falcao you have two ‘unknowns’. I actually think Ramsey is a must have until we see Di Maria in action. Why take the risk, is my thought. He’s cheaper too, so you could use the extra cash to bring in a better striker alongside Aguero, like Costa, Falcao himself, or even Balotelli.

thing is I’m on wc and top in 2 leagues and a few chasing have krul and silva .do I copy and stay ahead or wing it with differentials haha
Hmm, it’s maybe a bit early for differentials. I would suggest just picking the squad you think has a high chance of scoring well, consistently. David Silva doesn’t appeal to me at all to be honest.
Haha, strong point. Bale or Ronaldo, I was even thinking ramos, he’s a goalscorer now.
Abusee – I haven’t had a look at it yet so prices are unknown to me. Off the top of my head, i can see all three of those in my UCL team, come kick-off. That might not be possible, but i hope it is.

If fit, Ronny is a must have. 17 goals in 11 games in last seasons UCL. Did someone say ‘beast mode’? 😉

Mighty. If you downgrade Welbeck to Naismith you could upgrade your third defender. Maybe get in Coloccini?
