Fantasy Football 247 League Updates September

Fantasy Football 247 leaguesHello everyone and welcome to the September round up of the FF247 leagues. So how did everyone do this month? Injuries were more common than a scouser in a car park and managers were dreading to be the first one to get the bullet, so lets see who managed to steer their teams through the mine field that is fantasy football and top our compliment of leagues. Any successful managers will be added to our Hall of Fame which is coming soon.

FF247 League
Fantasy Football 247 leaguesTop spot in this league has stayed with Tom Farmer, who was also top in August with his team ‘Blame It On Debuchy’. Tom had amassed 394 points up to the end of September and was sitting pretty in 6th overall in the world, keep up the good work Tom. (The pic above includes this weeks scores that include week 1 from October). 2nd spot goes to Gerrie Pistorius, with his team ‘Pick_And_Hope’ on 387pts, and that points haul took him to 27th in the world. A further 6pts back in 3rd with 381 is team ‘Societa Esportive77’ and owner Boblewo-Garutti Brasil, who has also stuck around in the top 5 for 2 months. 4th place goes to Jaye Williams with his team ‘FC Yayunomi’ on 379 pts. In 5th, a further 5pts back with 374,was Hammad Mudassar and his team ‘Fantastic 11’.

FF247 Manager Of The Month
Fantasy Football 247 leaguesTop spot for September goes to A Khan with his team ‘Disneyland’, he managed to achieve 190pts from only 3 gameweeks, this score had also propelled him to 44th in the FF247 league. Ivan Bosnjak with his team ‘Leafs FC’ pushed for top spot all the way but finished just 1pt behind to take 2nd place with 189pts. Konrad Wojtowicz and Richard Prowse came in with 187pts to tie for 3rd spec with their respective teams ‘Gooners FC’ and ‘Tinkerman United’. 5th place went to Richard Jagers team ‘Wolf Pack’ with 185pts.

FF247 Doubles League
Fantasy Football 247 leaguesThe overall positions in this league are changing every gameweek and top spot at the end of September goes to Timmy + Cartman, alias our Colombian friend Mito + his sidekick Suarez, with their team ‘We Will Bite You’ and a respectable haul of 339pts, NZ Alex + Peaky Dave fought tooth and nail to reach 1st place but just failed finishing 2nd by 1pt on a total of 338. 3rd spot went to an unknown entity, Mr + Mrs Facepalm, with their team ‘No Hope Bob Hope’ who since the start of the season have been slowly picking up momentum to achieve 335pts. Last seasons champions Aditupem have dropped from 1st to 4th place with 330pts. In 5th spec are the up + coming FF247 article writers Calvin + Chins, they appear to have dropped off the pace a bit on 319pts with their team ‘Belly + Clyne’ but will probably blame it on their time writing superb articles rather than amassing points.

Well folks that’s it for September, so congratulations to everyone mentioned. Don’t forget there are only 3 gameweeks in October as we have another international break. Good luck to all for the next month, especially young Tom Farmer, keep the flag flying for FF247 with that high overall ranking.

    NIN says:

Afternoon gents. I know it’s a bit early as there’s a full 12 days to go before gwk 8 kicks off (feckin’ internationals) but i have a query or two if anyone is about..

    1. Who to start out of Krul and Mannone? Considering the fixtures i think is actually quite a close call, may even come down to save points.

    2. I’ve decided to sell Ulloa, well, almost decided, as he’s blanked against Palace and Burnley in the last two which is really disappointing especially considering Leicester have scored just twice in those games. With 7.6m for a replacement, is Welbeck the best option? Sakho interests me but i’ve already got Downing.

No hits are required so none will be taken. Cheers in advance smile

      B-Bash says:

      Hello Nin
I would start Mannone out of the 2.
Welbeck seems best option over Sakho if you have Downing

      Albertini says:

      Hi Nin.
      1. Krul for me, home game and easier fixture on paper so higher CS chance. Of course Mannone will probably make a few saves and even without a CS can outscore Krul, if Leicester score.

      2. Welbeck should be a decent option, very good value. Sakho or Cisse (yep NEW, I know!) also but I’d go with Welbz. Playing for a good team and with a very nice run of fixtures ahead.

      jamesimmo says:

Afternoon fellas. I agree with all the above NIN.

Wish I’d brought Welbeck instead of Dzeko really…

The again, that slot will be take by Agüero, by GW9 at the latest.

      NIN says:

Thanks Cookie/KungFu/B-Bash/Albertini/jamesimmo. Fairly unanimous decision for Krul&Welbeck. Hopefully these pesky internationals are good to us and no injuries arise eh?

      photek says:

hey Nin, I have the same 2 keepers mate and i was looking at it today, i think i’m going to go with Krul for the next game week as i have Pelle so having Mannone would be counter productive.
I think Wellbeck is a good shout for Ulloa. I’m happy with Pelle atm but if i was going to change him i’d prob go for Wellbeck.

Yo ! Haven’t been on for a while lads… How goes it all ? 58 week for me and sitting a not too awfully terrible 181k.. I’m not entirely happy as not winning my mini league but things could be worse..

    They could always be worse.

    Remember that.

Here’s my team.. What do you think are my options ? I was thinking Baines but then kinda though ‘naaaah’.. do I need fab ? Never owned him this season.. kinda feel i’m missing a boat here.. yeah ? Ummm.. Maybe want to get rid of Moreno ? and I have 3 Saints ? too much ? TOO MUCH ? Well it is if they’re gonna blank again..

So, anyway, here’s my squad.. I’m open to suggestions from all you lovely people.. And I ajm actually open too. Not like these people who ask for advice then go… well.. Naaah, thanks.. You know what I mean.

    Here you go

      Ruben says:

      I have a suggestion.
      Tadic -> Downing
      or
      Pellè -> Sakho/Cissé
      and then
      Moreno -> Baines
Baines is a must-have in my books.

      • NIN says:

        +1. Tadic&Moreno -> Downing&Baines is exactly what i would do.

        • NIN says:

That’s cool, the more who keep Moreno, the better! :hippo:

        • agueroooooo says:

          smile

on a serious note, i would personally get rid of tadic (to chadli).
although thats probably bcos i don”t like using players that have not proved themselves yet and i am not fully sold on downing. for christ sake, he is still a west ham player.
but downing won”t be a bad shout
moreno is a dead pick imo

        • haha.. Just kidding NIN my old fruit.. Moreno out is definitely happening this week.. 100% and I rue the bloody day I ever got him in… Curse that long run up the field, and great shot fired into the bottom corner ! It clouded my judgement !

        • Agueroooo.

I think you are onto something there mate. I’d much rather have a Chadli than a Downing, however the very next fixture could be a sticking point and might feel like a waste of my second transfer when I could do that the following week and have some nice fixtures coming up

        • NIN says:

Demsie – He was a great pick at the time! I think we’ve all been taken aback by how loose Liverpool’s defence is. Moreno is a quality player, but yeah, time to sell up.

        • agueroooooo says:

that was why i also stalled on getting baines. i would wait till gw9 to bring him in. fab and stering have easy matches next week. although i have decided to sell fab so what i meant is, fab has an easy match next week. chadli has no chance of scoring at etihad.

        • Mito21 @FantasyFooty247 says:

NiN let me state before I make my comment that I do not own a Liverpool defender nor plan on getting one. I have watched their last two games and they have been terribly unlucky to concede. Everton deserved nothing from that game and Jagielka could attempt that shot 100 more times and would not score again. West Brom scored because they benefitted from a bad call. It was not a penalty, otherwise I doubt they score. Only two teams in the EPL concede less shots than Liverpool. Yeah that’s right they barely allows shots at their goal. Everton allows 5 more per game, Swansea six more and so does Villa. Heck even Chelsea allow 2 shots more per game. Having said all that, you be nuts to have a Pool defender. :hippo: Or would you? 😉

        • NIN says:

          Haha laugh
They’re some interesting stats you have there Mito! Still cant see any argument for having their defenders though and none of them are scoring attacking points.

        • that’s it !!!!

I’m keeping Moreno and getting Lovren in too !!!!!!!

          Thanks Mito.

        • Mito21 @FantasyFooty247 says:

I knew there would be someone senile enough to see the light. 😉

    • 20.2
      jamesimmo says:

I like your squad Demsie y’know. How were you thinking of incorporating Fab? He’s a slow but steady burner it would seem, very consistent, but with rougher fixtures now.

How you feeling about Tadic? I’ve had him from the start, he’s played great and still has class fixtures, but has never quite delivered yet. Annoyingly scored a penalty in the cup, against Arsenal too, but he’s shown a lot of promise.

Baines is great on paper. Big expenditure though and you really have to keep him for the season to ensure you gather his (almost guaranteed) 150-odd points from him… I’m very tempted, but can’t really get Agüero with Baines in the squad unless I wildcarded, so not too keen.

Overall though you look in decent shape. #MorenoOut 😉

      • Hi James ! Thanks for the reply.

That’s the thing.. I literally have no idea how I’d incorporate Fab.. That’s why I was asking for suggestions. I may just leave him, but I got burnt with yaya & Rambo last year and I kinda feel that this is the same.. I keep thinking he wont produce.. yet….

Tadic ? I think is looking amazing as a player, he’s playing in the positiong you’d want for an FPL mid but he’s not bringing home the bacon (just yet). I’m prepared to give him these next 2 gameweeks to at least score 1 goal and an another assist otherwise i’ll prob look to move on in 9/10.. although looking at his fix they don’t get any worse til GW13… End of Nov ! What say you mate ?

I’m not one that thinks Baines is essential.. More of a luxury at the moment with Eve not getting CS (as you say) and with pens being totally random, we can’t rely on those, esp if he’s going to miss. I’ve already WC’d and i’m happy with front 7, just maybe my defence needs sorting.. Moreno to Mangala could work and then maybe if I downgrade Krul who is not getting anywhere near my team, I could re-evaluate.

I’m sure I was a lot more decisive last season…

        • jamesimmo says:

Keeping Tadic til my 18th sounds good..! laugh

I’d love to have Baines but it’s a huge commitment. Mangala in an interesting one, hopefully if you do he won’t get -2 again! But is he nailed?

    • 20.3
      inittowinit says:

Hi Demsie, I’d get Baines in too. I think he’s likely to outscore most mids and it will be close between him and Fab come the end of the season. You’ve got to think he will pick up something like 10 cleansheets assuming Everton get their act together. He’ll get 2-4 more pens and he will get assists too. Must have for me. Tadic and Moreno seem the obvious fall guys.

  3. 21
    jamesimmo says:

I am secretly hoping that one of Sterling / Fabregas / Di Maria pick up a mid-length injury over the int. break… as then I’d have a decent excuse to wildcard and get Baines, Agüero and Welbeck.

But as things stand, I just can’t, as it’d mean losing one of those three.

    • 21.1
      NIN says:

jamesimmo – I would sell Sterling in a heartbeat if it meant getting in Baines and Aguero mate.

      • jamesimmo says:

Really? But have you seen the fixtures? Sturridge back too…

Think I’d be more inclined sell Fabregas! Hard to part with either for me.

        • NIN says:

Yeah i’m aware of the fixtures. Everton and City have great fixtures too so if selling Sterling is what it takes to get Baines and Aguero then so be it. Cesc is a season keeper, for me, so i don’t even consider him for the chop smile

        • jamesimmo says:

Fair do’s mate. Yep, he’s so consistent.

Would you consider wildcarding to do it though?

I think as we said before, although it’d involve 7 transfers, only 3 major changes would occur: Terry – Sterling – Dzeko —–> Baines – Welbeck – Agüero

And I could get Agüero OR Baines within a week (or two, dependant on which) with free transfers alone.

…now you see why I was hoping for an injury! 😉

        • NIN says:

I don’t think you ‘need’ to play it so that decision is yours 😉 7 is a lot of changes though. I wanted to make 11 when i played mine.

        • jamesimmo says:

Nahh, definitely don’t need to, but tempting… smile

Wow 11 changes = a no brainer, almost! 3 of my 7 changes occur on the long-term bench so it sounds more extreme than it actually would be.

Let’s see what the international break actually brings.

        • NIN says:

Agreed. You can get the main transfers done with one or two hits at most. I’m hoping for a very quiet international break. Very, VERY quiet laugh

    • 21.2
      Mitro says:

Sterling is gone as soon as wally is back!!!

I do however have welbeck and aguero!! I may be tempted to downgrade Aguero to Sturridge over the coming weeks!!!

      • jamesimmo says:

Here’s to that Mitro! Another advantage of keeping him… holds Walcott’s place! Cannot wait for his return! laugh

        • Mitro says:

Exactly mate!! It’s been my plan since the first GW!!

I can’t wait he’s fantasy gold!!! Plus we need him back ASAP!! Reckon he will be on the bench for hull!!

        • Mito21 @FantasyFooty247 says:

Mitro, stop kissing Theo’s arse. I know he got you your highest GW ranking ever last season, but that’s in the past. Get a hold of yourself son, is becoming tough to watch. 😉 He is coming back from a major knee injury that boy won’t be right for a while. A long while.

        • Mitro says:

          You have a great memory!!!

How are you mito? I haven’t heard off you in a while!! He will be up and running my the end of the month!! smile

        • Mito21 @FantasyFooty247 says:

Your end of the month? You sound like my wife! 😉 All good, have been a bit busy lately but will try and give people a hard time and then disappear, like the old days. Wenger will baby him to no end. Theo won’t see anywhere near 90 for a while.

        • Mitro says:

I hope not!!! Him being back should get the best out of Ozil aswell!!

          Any players on your radar?

        • Mito21 @FantasyFooty247 says:

Ozil?! I don’t think I heard you right… Ozil?! As far as anyone on my radar, I was looking at Mane from Saints yesterday and I liked his play. Missed an incredible one though. Will probably look into him a bit and see if I think he will fit into my squad. We have good thing going, with all the guys getting along and working hard to live up to my expectations. Don’t want to bring in a slacker and ruin the work ethic of my side.

        • Mitro says:

Yes Ozil!!! I saw your tweet yesterday!!! Take it you are still not convinced? He will come good!!

Yep mane looks a decent player!! Quite impressed with a few of the players from Southampton!! Brought in tadic the other week!! Think he will be among the points in the next few weeks..Going to start to do something different over the coming weeks!! Need to get higher up in the rankings!!

        • Mito21 @FantasyFooty247 says:

Mitro, if Ozil would have been bought by Spurs you be laughing your ass off. :hippo:

        • Mitro says:

          Ouch ….. That hurt!!! sad

wow its great to be back here
    hows every1 doing
my team is doing ok but i really want to get baines, however i have no idea who to sell in
    fab
    sterling
    welbeck
    (to chadli)
i don’t agree sterling isn’t a must have anymore. i feel he plays much better with sturridge around
    fab is consistent
welbeck is a goat but he has easy fixtures

i don”t want to sell a player and then realise i made a mistake
i would link my team when i figure how to

    Pippin says:

Hi all. How was the weekend? My hit for Aguero and Downing paid off, and although I got red arrows I’m still in the top 30k and I won my H2H- now top of Banterbury Qual league D (for now…). Pondering my next step. Team is:

    Forster, Hamer
    Terry, O’Shea, Coloccini, Wilson, Taylor
    Fabregas, Sterling, Downing, Sigurdsson, Quinn
    Diego Costa, Aguero, Pelle

My defence is doing poorly right now, but so is everyone’s, right? A little concerned about the midfield being unbalanced, but that’s the consequence of Costa/Kun/Pelle up front. My main idea is to lose Terry, but should I then bring in Baines or instead bolster the midfield? Downing/Siggy are both playing well…
