Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 16

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 16. And we go again… We were promised ‘thick and fast’ in the weeks ahead, and it’s already starting to feel that way, as we have our 3rd GW begin within the space of 8 days, ‘get used to it’ is all we can offer by way of comfort.

GW16 is a tad Saturday heavy with no less than 8 games. We kick off with Bournemouth hosting Liverpool in the early one prior to five 3pm games. There are then two evening games beginning with a potential cracker as Chelsea welcome the Pep (rotation) machine at 5.30pm before Leicester take on Spurs in a rare Saturday evening treat at 7.45pm.

Sunday only has one game as a result, oddly. This one sees Newcastle play Wolves before Monday finishes us off with Everton at home to Watford.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 16 from all at FF247!

After a disastrous weekend I was thinking about a big shakeup. First pic is my current team. Second is my proposed team with an 8 point hit. Thoughts please?

I’d wait for the Man U game to be dusted before bringing in Salah. Young handled him very well last season, if memory serves. Liverpool Man U games are always very tough to call. And Liverpool have some business to attend to in Europe first.

One bad week doesn’t mean you have to dismantle the side. Sane is fine to own, as far as I can see.

Maybe just get the Chic in.

        • ODT says:

          Is that Torriera’s nickname?

        • Kralin says:

          Chicharito, WHU.

          Hello Kralin,
          Just registered.
Is this the new home of fantasyfootballfirst ?
          What happened ?
          Regards

Evening WBAler. This is a separate site from FFF; it started at a similar time I think. There was a huge schism and then a bitter civil war when a site called Fantasy Football Cheat imploded. Out of that came this site and FFF.

FFF went for a Burton. The tyrannies of time and money did for it. We were ushered in this direction. You’ll recognise a few people from there here. This is an excellent site.

It is really good to see you here.

        • WBAler says:

Thank you for the welcome, brief history and your kind words, Kralin.
Just spotting ‘familiars’ and getting used to the site at the moment.
          Regards

There’s a bunch of the FFF folks here, myself included. I stumbled upon this site through the FFF page on Facebook after the site disappeared. I was bummed too. I was worried that I was going to have to put my squad together with no advice. Glad I found some of the folks I came to trust from FFF here.

        • inittowinit says:

Welcome to the site WBAler, glad you have found a few old friends and hopefully you can also make a few new ones.

It’s all fairly self explanatory once you’ve had a wander around for a bit but any questions just ask by all means and I’m sure someone will point you in the right direction.

        • secretzorro says:

Kralin, Cheat never imploded, the webmaster was a statistics geek for his job, and we were the guinea pigs so to speak. I knew months in advance that he would let it die a ‘natural’ death by not renewing the servers. He had his stats and that was it. I had his permission for everything I did at that time, and he gave me some help. Then ChorleyRocks fecked everything big time and THEN all hell let loose.
And tbh K, for people to bear grudges 7 years later for something that happened in the fantasy world is fucking pathetic. In real life would you do anything to harm me? Or me to you? Of course not, we’d help each other ffs. Bah, rant over before I get carried away smile

        • Bry says:

Hiya WBAler. They’re a really nice bunch on here. The content is extremely informative and, so that you don’t get the wrong impression of FF247, I’d strongly recommend giving the next Captain Picks article a miss. Strongly.

      • Smash says:

No for me. Maybe Hernandez in for Murray. Brighton’s fixtures are not great. Unless you can do Salah for a -4. Wan Bissaka in for Alonso and Sane to Salah

        • Kralin says:

I was toying with the ditch Alonso idea too. But then I arranged the side for next week and that back trio of Alonso/Robertson/Doherty looks good to me. And not just because of what happened this week.

        • Smash says:

Yeah I’m toying with getting rid of Alonso. Not sure he’s worth it. His returns mostly came in August which is a long time ago. That’s one of the few changes I’ll be looking at when I wildcard.

      • ODT says:

Thank you for the input y’all! I too think Alonso has worn out his welcome on my squad and getting him out seems to be the only financial way to get Salah. That said I realize that Murray and Duffy are probably more important to replace, they just don’t carry the money behind them. I like that Alonso to Obi-Wan and Sane to Salah idea. Although not having city attack is not a good idea. Decisions…. Decisions!

ODT, you’ve got a sound enough team – there’s no need to resort to radical changes which could well come back to bite you! But at this time of year there’s a higher risk of rotation, injuries and postponements so it’s best to make sure all 13 of your outfield players are fit and good enough to have a fair chance of scoring more than 1 or 2 points. Camarasa doesn’t look like he can do that, so I’d upgrade him – maybe to Torreira. Your Brighton players also have a tough run of fixtures coming up, so I’d look to replace them too: I’d suggest Murray to Chicharito and Dunk to Doherty. But not all in the same GW – it’s not worth taking 8 hits to do that.

I might be stupid but what’s the differance here? I wasn’t in 307,335 place in gw1…

Is it my position among the players who’s been in the game since gw1?
