Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 2.
If you made it from GW1 to GW2 then that probably either means you scored well in GW1 and are still full of beans having done so or that you are simply a proper FPL player and know that you will make it to GW38 regardless. Either way GW2 is upon us so let’s go see how the weekend pans out…

Arsenal’s reserve team got off to a good start with 3 points away at Newcastle and they clash in the days early game with a bouyant Burnley side who beat Southampton 3-0 in their own first game.

3pm sees us with five games but with the exception of Liverpool it’s a list of the ‘also-rans’ again. There’s definitely a pattern developing here… Villa host Bournemouth with both looking for their first win, Everton host Watford with both looking for their first win, Norwich host Newcastle with both looking for their first win, Brighton host West Ham with both looking for their first win, (oh hang on, Brighton won?!) West ham looking for their first win. Southampton host Liverpool and of course the hosts are looking for their first win. They’ll still be looking next week too.

The evening game is argueably the first big clash of the titans this season as Man City host Spurs.

Sunday sees Sheffield United and Palace get us going at 2pm, with both teams looking for their first win. That is followed at 4.30pm by Chelsea and Leicester, with… yeah, you guessed it, both teams looking for their first win!

We go to Monday this time too as Wolves host Man United in a mouth watering clash.

The games in full…

Does anyone know how i can be removed from a private league? My bench boost was also played but i did not authorize it. These changes happened during the time the games were being played today.

    Hi there.

Is it worth doing Wilson – Pukki tonight? I don’t normally do early transfers but the price rise is tempting and I have 2 FTs.

      Zed Leppelin says:

Yeah depends really what’s the status of Digne and Zichenko… I’m tempted by Wilson —> Pukki and Fraser —> KDB funded by a downgrade in either Zichenko or Digne (if either of them is injured long-term)… Think Digne had just a knock (or or so it said on FPL), did Zichenko blow his hammy?

Pukki is going up in price again tonight according to the price rise site

Personally I wouldn’t do it with games and possibly other injuries / other players emerging. A cheap Chelsea player could do something hot tomorrow, etc.

If I were to do it I’d sketch out some sort of plan of what else I want to do / players to jump on. Zed and I both arrived at KdB pretty much simultaneously but Son will be back in play and so on.

      • Zed Leppelin says:

It’s easier to gamble on early transfers with the WC still in the pocket, though…

        • Kralin says:

Yes, of course, but that’s reconciling yourself to having to play it very early (if necessary).

I suspect a 3x transfers with a -4 will satisfy most people (in terms of straightening their sides up).

        • Stone Frog says:

Yes, but it is a bit early for a WC. I would risk early transfers may be week 4 onwards though.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Well you might not need it, not saying you should use the WC now, I’m saying you could risk early transfers now, you might get away with it, I don’t care when I use my WC, I use it if I need it, no matter whether it’s GW2 or GW17… smile

        • Kralin says:

I know that’s what you meant.

I think Liverpool will miss a GW somewhere down the line so in theory a wildcard could be planned around that; I don’t know.

Last season I wildcarded in the second break and the season before in the first break. Before then I used to play it late. Going early has its advantages. But maybe not this early.

        • Zed Leppelin says:

Yeah I wouldn’t want to play it this early, but just saying I might take a few gambles knowing that I have the WC to land on if it goes tits up, chances are it won’t go tits up though, and so I’d be alright… You gotta take risks like that sometimes as well in order to beat a significant portion of other managers I think…

I’ve usually burned mine in the first or second break and I’ve had good OR results and bad OR results with it, don’t think the time of using your first WC correlates at all with your OR rank in May actually…

I have just looked, before Pukki’s rise yesterday, I could have
    Heaton > Button
    Wilson > Pukki
    Greenwood > Barnes
    Now I’m £100k short sad

I am thinking Salah & Wickham to KDB & Pukki. Is It too early to loose Salah! He did not do well today.
